XDC Network announced on October 15, 2026, that Concordium will provide the exclusive identity-verification layer for XDC AI, its marketplace for autonomous-agent services and payments. The integration lets each verified agent display a “Verified by Concordium” badge proving that an accountable person or business stands behind it, while keeping that owner’s personal identity off ordinary blockchain records.
What XDC Network and Concordium announced
Concordium described the deal as its first full-network integration. Every agent registered on XDC AI can use Concordium verification rather than treating identity as an optional add-on. Buyers and counterparties can check an agent’s status independently before allowing it to order services, settle invoices or move funds.

XDC AI launched in July 2026. It gives an AI agent a non-custodial wallet, allows the agent to discover available services and supports USDC payments through the x402 payment standard. Concordium adds a verifiable owner relationship to those payment and service-discovery functions.

How an owner links an identity to an agent wallet
- Complete identity verification. The owner uses Concordium Wallet with a passport and a liveness check conducted by an independent identity provider.
- Authorize the XDC wallet. The owner links the XDC smart wallet using two signatures. The signatures authorize the relationship and move no funds.
- Register the agent. The verified relationship is recorded through the relevant registries, and Concordium issues the agent a Verified by Concordium badge.
- Check the status independently. A buyer can inspect the badge and registration on Concordium’s explorer or the Agent Registry without asking XDC, Concordium or the owner for permission.
The arrangement does not require the agent to hand custody of its wallet to Concordium. The agent retains its existing XDC wallet and operating logic; the verification layer binds that wallet to a registered owner key.
What the badge proves—and what it does not

Accountability is therefore narrower than a safety or compliance guarantee. A verified owner may still operate a defective, compromised or unsuitable agent, so users must evaluate the agent’s permissions, code, service terms and transaction limits separately.

Privacy and legally recoverable identity
The owner’s name, passport number, photograph, passport data and date of birth are not stored on-chain and are not sent to XDC AI. The blockchain records the account and credential relationship needed to verify that an accountable owner exists.

The integration documentation was last reviewed in October 2026. Its two-leg model connects a Concordium account backed by an identity provider with an owner key that signs for the XDC smart wallet; the wallet is then checked against the registered key.

Why this matters for institutional agent payments
An autonomous wallet can discover a service and pay for it, but payment alone does not identify who is responsible when an order is wrong, an invoice is disputed or an agent is abused. The partnership is designed for transactions between organizations that may never have met the agent’s owner.

Verification can give a counterparty a repeatable pre-transaction check: confirm the badge, inspect the registration, then apply the organization’s own limits and approval rules. That can be useful for procurement agents, invoice-settlement agents and other software that acts with delegated authority, although the integration itself does not impose those business controls.

Availability, pricing and partner terms
Verification was announced as live at the XDC AI endpoint, with developer documentation available. The announcement does not publish a required user fee, a recurring subscription price or transaction-cost schedule for verification.
Concordium and XDC said the partnership includes revenue sharing on each agent verification, but they did not publish a commission rate, referral URL, cookie duration or affiliate enrollment process. Any claim about partner earnings should therefore be treated as unconfirmed until one of the two networks releases formal terms.
