The wireless plans themselves were not necessarily canceled or changed. Verizon ended the attached entertainment promotions, and the old free benefit is no longer generally available.
Some affected customers were offered an optional six-month extension, but enrollment was required and the Apple Arcade offer had to be claimed by November 25, 2025. Customers should check My Verizon and their bills before assuming the subscription is gone or still free.

Which Verizon plans lost the benefit?
The main affected plans were:
- 5G Play More
- 5G Get More
Under the former arrangement, Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass was included as long as customers kept one of those eligible legacy plans. Other older Unlimited plans generally received only a limited promotional period, such as six months.

Some customer notices and secondary reports used earlier dates, including September 22, but September 25 is the date identified in Verizon’s current support documentation.

What changed—and what did not
This was a removal of an entertainment perk, not necessarily a cancellation of a Verizon wireless plan. Customers were not automatically required to switch plans simply because Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass ended.
A discontinued 5G Play More FAQ still says the benefit was included while customers kept the plan. That is legacy wording and conflicts with Verizon’s newer support FAQs. The current account status and billing record are more useful than the old plan description.
Was there a six-month extension?
Some affected customers received an offer for six additional months of Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass. It was not necessarily automatic. Verizon directed eligible customers to an email or to My Verizon → My Offers to enroll.
For Apple Arcade, Verizon says enrollment had to be completed by November 25, 2025. That deadline has passed, so customers who did not redeem the offer should not expect the old extension to be restored. Eligibility could depend on the account, previous enrollment, and the specific offer shown to the customer.
What happens after the extension?
Verizon says Apple Arcade becomes a paid subscription after the six-month promotional period unless it is canceled. Verizon’s listed price is $6.99 per month plus tax per enrolled account. The company’s Google Play Pass FAQ references $4.99 per month plus tax in a particular re-enrollment scenario; that figure should not be treated as a universal current price for every customer or billing route.

To avoid an unwanted charge:
- Sign in to My Verizon as the Account Owner or Account Manager.
- Open the account’s products or Products & plan perks section.
- Find Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass.
- Check whether it is free, scheduled to become paid, canceled, or absent.
- Review the next bill or bill preview for a recurring charge.
- Cancel before the free period ends if you do not want paid renewal.
- Save the cancellation confirmation or a screenshot.
For Google Play Pass, Verizon documents this website path: My Verizon → Shop products & plan perks → Entertainment → Google Play Pass → Get it now, followed by accepting the terms and going to Google Play. Interface labels can change.
What if you cancel or suspend Verizon service?
According to Verizon, canceling Verizon service ends a Verizon-provided six-month Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass subscription immediately, and Verizon will not bill the customer for the canceled Verizon promotion.
Suspending a line does not extend the promotional end date. The subscription continues to run through the suspension period.
These rules apply to subscriptions administered through Verizon. A subscription purchased directly from Apple or Google has separate billing and cancellation rules.
Can customers get the old perk back?
Not under the old promotional terms. Verizon says the former promotions are no longer available through the mobile account. Its Apple Arcade page lists the service as a paid add-on at $6.99 per month, rather than allowing re-enrollment at the former free rate.

Apple Arcade directly
Apple lists Apple Arcade at $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year in the United States, with Family Sharing for up to six people. The annual option can be cheaper than 12 monthly payments. It is designed for Apple-device households and is not a replacement for Android-only users.
Apple One
Apple One includes Apple Arcade along with other Apple services. Apple’s listed U.S. prices are $19.95 monthly for Individual, $25.95 for Family, and $37.95 for Premier. It makes financial sense mainly for households that already want services such as Apple Music, Apple TV+, or additional iCloud storage—not for someone seeking only games.
Google Play Pass directly
Google Play Pass is aimed primarily at Android users and includes qualifying apps and games without ads or in-app purchases. Catalog availability varies by country, device, and developer participation. Check Google’s current checkout price rather than relying on Verizon’s historical promotional pricing.

One Unlimited for iPhone
Verizon’s One Unlimited for iPhone plan includes Apple One. It may suit an iPhone household that also wants Apple’s other services, but changing plans solely to recover a $6.99 gaming benefit can be poor value. Compare total plan cost, hotspot data, discounts, taxes, and all lost legacy benefits first.
Why +play credit is not a substitute
Verizon’s +play Monthly Credit terms specifically exclude Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass, along with several other plan perks and add-ons. It should not be treated as a direct replacement for either service.
If the perk disappeared but billing continues
Customer reports describe account and billing difficulties, but they are anecdotal and do not establish that every affected customer was charged improperly. If the service is missing from the plan description but appears on a bill:
- Check My Verizon’s subscriptions and Products & plan perks area.
- Review recent and upcoming bills for the exact add-on name.
- Cancel it through My Verizon if the option is available.
- Contact Verizon billing and request written confirmation of cancellation.
- Keep screenshots, emails, and billing statements.
- Contact Apple or Google only if that company—not Verizon—is the billing provider.
