The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Was $560 Off on Black Friday—Here’s What Buyers Actually Got

The $560-off Galaxy S25 Ultra deal was real, but it was a historical Black Friday promotion reported on November 28, 2025—not a deal you should assume is still available. Samsung sold the unlocked 512GB model for $859.99, down from its listed price of $1,419.99. The promotion was a direct price reduction, and the reported maximum trade-in credit of up to $700 did not stack with it.

Here’s how the promotion worked, what the phone offers, and how to calculate whether a similar Samsung or carrier deal is genuinely worthwhile.

What the $560-off deal actually included

The promotion covered the 512GB Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra purchased through Samsung U.S. The arithmetic was straightforward:

Listed price $1,419.99

The offer was reported by TechRadar on November 28, 2025. In that context, “still” meant the price remained available during the 2025 Black Friday period. It does not establish that Samsung is offering the same price in 2026.

  • Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.

This distinction matters because a dated deal headline can continue circulating long after the inventory, promotion, or terms have disappeared. Samsung’s U.S. pages checked on August 18, 2026 showed the 512GB unlocked phone at a regular listed price of $1,419.99 on one product path. Another page displayed a temporary $1,119.99 price, or $300 off, but indicated limited or unavailable stock. Treat those pages as time-sensitive signals and verify the final checkout price before buying.

Check the official Samsung buying page rather than relying on an old deal headline.

Why the 512GB version made the promotion more appealing

The discount was not simply about paying less for the same entry-level configuration. The promotion applied to the 512GB model, while the S25 Ultra range also includes 256GB and 1TB versions. Samsung lists all three storage tiers on its U.S. buying pages.

That extra capacity is useful for a camera-focused buyer. High-resolution photos, 4K video, downloaded media, games, and offline maps can consume storage quickly. A 512GB phone also gives you more room before you need to manage files or rely on cloud storage.

However, do not assume every “512GB for the price of 256GB” claim is equivalent. Confirm the storage tier, model code, color, carrier status, and final price on the checkout screen. Promotions can apply only to a particular SKU or purchase route.

Could the $560 discount be combined with a $700 trade-in?

Not according to the reported 2025 promotion. TechRadar said Samsung’s offer did not stack with the maximum trade-in credit of up to $700.

The trade-in maximum was also conditional. It depended on the device being traded in, its condition, and the promotion’s eligibility rules. A high-value qualifying device—such as a Galaxy S24 Ultra or Galaxy Z Fold 7 in good condition—could be among the devices eligible for the highest credit, but the $700 figure was not a universal allowance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The practical choice was generally one of these:

  • Take the direct discount: pay $859.99 for the 512GB phone and keep your existing device.
  • Use the trade-in promotion: receive a qualifying credit against a different purchase price or offer, subject to Samsung’s terms.

Do not describe the deal as “$560 off plus $700 trade-in,” or subtract both amounts, unless the specific checkout terms expressly allow that combination.

For current trade-in terms, use Samsung’s official trade-in page. Before shipping a device, photograph it powered on, record its identifying information, and keep the shipping receipt and tracking details. Report cracks, screen damage, water damage, and activation-lock status accurately. If Samsung finds that the device condition differs from the estimate, the credit may be reduced or handled under the terms of the trade-in program.

The two dedicated telephoto cameras are the main reason the Ultra appeals to photography enthusiasts. They provide more useful optical focal lengths than a phone with only a main camera and digital cropping. The 200MP main sensor and high-resolution ultra-wide camera add flexibility for landscapes, architecture, and cropping.

That hardware makes the S25 Ultra one of the most versatile Android camera phones, but it does not prove that it is objectively the best. Camera preferences vary by lighting, moving-subject performance, skin tones, video quality, computational processing, and the apps used in your workflow.

The Ultra also includes Samsung’s S Pen functionality, a very large display, and flagship-level processing. Those features help justify the device for the right buyer—but they also make it large and expensive. Samsung says the phone ships without a charger, so budget for a compatible USB-C charger if you do not already have one.

Direct purchase versus carrier financing

The biggest mistake in phone-deal math is treating every advertised saving as an immediate reduction in what the phone costs you.

Purchase route Advertised saving What it means Main commitment
Historical Samsung direct deal $560 Immediate price reduction to $859.99 Normal purchase terms
Historical maximum trade-in route Up to $700 Conditional device credit Eligible phone and condition required
Current Samsung carrier signal Up to $1,100 Combination of trade-in credit and 24 monthly bill credits Eligible carrier financing and rate plan

Samsung’s current product pages describe the $1,100 carrier-related figure as involving a one-time trade-in credit and 24 monthly bill credits on an eligible plan. That is not the same as receiving $1,100 off an unlocked phone at checkout.

An unlocked purchase is easier to value. You pay the device price, use your existing plan, and retain the freedom to switch carriers. The disadvantages are a potentially higher upfront cost and, depending on the promotion, a lower direct trade-in allowance.

Carrier financing can reduce the initial payment and produce a larger headline saving, particularly for an existing customer already on a qualifying plan. But the discount may stop if you cancel service, switch carriers, upgrade early, or otherwise lose eligibility. You may also remain responsible for unpaid device installments.

Use this formula instead of looking only at the monthly device payment:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Effective device cost =
down payment
+ all device installments
+ activation or upgrade fees
+ required plan-cost difference
− trade-in credit
− bill credits
− usable gift-card value

Do not subtract the full carrier saving unless you expect to keep the qualifying plan for the entire credit period and can accept the carrier’s network, pricing, and upgrade rules. A phone with a $0 monthly device payment can still cost more overall if it requires a substantially more expensive plan.

Is the S25 Ultra still worth buying outside Black Friday?

The answer depends on the price and on whether you will use the Ultra-specific features.

At $859.99

At the historical $859.99 price, the 512GB S25 Ultra was an unusually strong flagship offer. The buyer received a large storage tier, Samsung’s most flexible camera arrangement, the S Pen, and an unlocked phone without relying on future carrier credits.

At around $1,120

A price near the $1,119.99 snapshot is still a substantial reduction from the $1,419.99 list price. It is attractive if you specifically want the Ultra’s zoom cameras, large display, S Pen, and 512GB storage. But compare newer flagship models before paying that much; newer phones may offer different advantages in camera processing, battery life, or software support.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

At $1,419.99

At full list price, the purchase needs a stronger justification. It makes the most sense for someone who will regularly use long-range photography, the S Pen, the large screen, premium performance, or the extra storage. If you rarely use zoom, prefer a smaller phone, or mainly want a good everyday camera, a less expensive model may deliver better value.

Who should buy it?

The S25 Ultra is a good fit for buyers who prioritize:

  • Long-range phone photography and optical zoom
  • A very large, high-resolution display
  • S Pen functionality
  • High storage capacity for photos and video
  • Flagship Android performance
  • An unlocked phone with no carrier-credit commitment

It is a weaker fit if you:

  • Want a compact or lightweight phone
  • Rarely use zoom cameras
  • Prefer Google’s computational photography or Apple’s video ecosystem
  • Need a charger included in the box
  • Are unwilling to pay for a large flagship
  • May change carriers before a bill-credit promotion ends

Checklist for evaluating a similar deal

  1. Verify the date. An old Black Friday page is evidence of a past promotion, not proof of current availability.
  2. Confirm the exact phone. Check that it is the S25 Ultra, not another S25 model, and that it has 512GB if that is the advertised configuration.
  3. Check the model code and carrier status. Make sure the SKU is unlocked if you want an unlocked phone.
  4. Separate instant discounts from credits. Identify what reduces the checkout price and what arrives later as a trade-in credit, gift card, or monthly bill credit.
  5. Read the stacking rules. Confirm whether an instant reduction can be combined with trade-in value or other promotions.
  6. Calculate the total. Include taxes, activation fees, plan differences, financing payments, and the value of the phone you are surrendering.
  7. Review carrier conditions. Note the bill-credit duration, required plan, payoff rules, upgrade restrictions, and what happens if you leave.
  8. Check stock and fulfillment. Price, color, storage, ZIP code, and inventory can change whether an offer is actually usable.
  9. Budget for accessories. The S25 Ultra does not include a charger.

Refurbished and open-box options may reduce the upfront cost, but compare warranty coverage, battery-health guarantees, return rules, seller quality, and trade-in eligibility. Samsung Certified Re-Newed, Amazon Renewed, and retailer open-box programs do not necessarily provide identical protections.

Verdict

The headline deal was genuine as a November 28, 2025 Black Friday promotion: Samsung’s unlocked 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra fell from $1,419.99 to $859.99. It was not a verified combination of $560 off and a separate $700 trade-in credit.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Buy the phone now only if the discounted price is visible at checkout and you want its optical zoom system, large display, S Pen, and storage. Choose a carrier offer only when you are comfortable keeping the qualifying plan for the entire bill-credit period. At full price, compare newer alternatives and make sure you will use the Ultra’s distinctive features.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
