The official replacement for the original Stocard app is Klarna. Stocard’s support page said the service would be shut down and that users should migrate their loyalty cards to Klarna. However, native wallets are often a better fit: use Apple Wallet on iPhone, Google Wallet on most Android phones, or Samsung Wallet on Galaxy devices when your retailer supports the card.
For arbitrary barcodes, offline access, or less dependence on shopping and financial features, use a dedicated barcode wallet. Do not assume that a newer App Store listing using the Stocard name restores the original Stocard service or legacy account.

What happened to Stocard?
The original Stocard app was migrated into Klarna, according to Stocard’s official support information. Users were instructed to verify the phone number and email address associated with Stocard, create or verify a Klarna account, and move their loyalty cards into Klarna.

That does not necessarily mean every historical card will appear perfectly. Stocard’s guidance said points balances would not be affected, although information for unsupported providers might remain available only through the retailer’s website or app. Treat this as a migration policy promise, not a guarantee that every card will import correctly.

There is also a newer U.S. App Store listing called Stocard – loyalty card wallet, with updates during 2025 and 2026 and features such as cloud synchronization, family sharing, custom card covers, and a premium tier. Its existence does not prove that the original Stocard service has returned. Unless the publisher confirms legacy-account compatibility, regard it as a separate or relaunched listing.

How to recover Stocard cards in Klarna
- Install or update the official Klarna app.
- Sign in using the phone number and email address associated with your Stocard migration.
- Complete Klarna’s account-verification process.
- Open the loyalty-card or rewards-card section. Labels can vary by country and app version.
- Check whether your migrated cards appear.
- Open each card and verify the merchant, barcode type and number, membership number, and any displayed points information.
- Test the barcode at a store before deleting old screenshots, devices, or physical cards.
If a card is missing, first confirm that you used the same phone number and email address. Then check whether the merchant is supported and sign in to the retailer’s own app or website. Contact Klarna or Stocard support before deleting old data.

Apple Wallet: best native option for iPhone
Apple Wallet is the cleanest choice when a retailer provides an official pass. Look for an Add to Apple Wallet button in the retailer’s app, website, email, QR code, or membership confirmation. Compatible passes can appear on an iPhone and Apple Watch, and may be surfaced based on time or location.
Apple Wallet is not a universal Stocard-style barcode importer. A merchant or pass provider generally has to issue a valid Wallet pass. If there is no Add to Apple Wallet option, Apple recommends contacting the merchant. A separate barcode app may be necessary for unsupported cards.

- Tap Add to Wallet.
- Choose Loyalty card.
- Search for the merchant or loyalty program.
- Scan the card, sign in, or enter the details manually.
If the merchant does not appear, Google says it is not supported through that normal loyalty-card flow. Some cards can instead be added from a participating merchant’s app or website, and certain cards may be imported through Gmail.
Google Wallet is convenient for people already using a Google Account, but it is not a universal vault for every arbitrary barcode. Recovery after reinstalling depends on the card remaining associated with the same Google Account and on Google’s applicable recovery conditions. Read the Google Wallet loyalty-card instructions.
Samsung Wallet: best for Galaxy phones
Samsung Wallet supports membership and loyalty cards. Samsung also says cards can be added manually when a merchant is not initially suggested, making it useful for Galaxy owners who want cards alongside other Wallet features.

Dedicated barcode-wallet apps
A dedicated barcode wallet is usually the most flexible alternative when you have cards from local businesses, gyms, libraries, clubs, or merchants that do not support a native wallet. The relevant features are offline access, fast favorites, barcode-format support, backup, export, and watch compatibility—not merely the number of listed retailers.
SuperCards is one current Android example. Its Google Play listing advertises offline access, Wear OS support, screenshot importing, Google Backup, and an account-free QR backup option. The listing says the app is free to download, but that does not establish that every feature is free or that there are no ads or in-app purchases.
The newer Stocard-branded App Store listing advertises cloud sync, family sharing, and premium or ad-free features, but it should not be treated as a proven recovery path for an original Stocard account.

What to check before choosing a dedicated app
- Offline behavior: Can the barcode open and display without cellular service? Test it in airplane mode.
- Account requirements: Is registration mandatory, or can cards remain local?
- Backup and recovery: Is backup automatic, optional, encrypted, or dependent on the provider’s account?
- Export: Can you save card numbers, screenshots, or another portable copy?
- Watch support: Check Apple Watch or Wear OS support separately.
- Privacy: Review the current privacy policy and App Store or Google Play data-safety disclosure for analytics, advertising, location, identifiers, and cloud synchronization.
- Pricing: Distinguish a free download from unlimited free use, a one-time unlock, ads, and a subscription.
- Barcode support: Confirm that it supports the barcode format used by your card and preserves the number below it.
Why a loyalty-card wallet cannot replace every retailer app
A barcode wallet generally displays an identifier. It usually does not replace the retailer’s live points dashboard, digital coupons, personalized offers, receipts, purchase history, fuel discounts, membership renewal, or account recovery.

Keep the retailer’s app for programs where those features matter. Use a generic wallet for quick barcode access, and use both when necessary.
Barcode problems and transition safeguards
A barcode may fail because the source number is incomplete, the screen is dim, the image is compressed, the format is unsupported, or the register requires the numeric membership ID instead. Some programs use NFC or account lookup rather than a visible barcode.
During the transition:
- Increase screen brightness and avoid excessive zoom or compression.
- Keep the digits printed under the barcode.
- Carry a physical card or screenshot until the replacement works.
- Test cards at a real checkout before deleting old installations or backups.
- Do not rely on an abandoned app or old Android APK as your primary solution; server, login, and backup functions may stop working.
Bottom line
Choose Klarna if you want the official migration route from the original Stocard. Choose Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet when your phone and retailer support native passes. Choose a well-maintained dedicated barcode wallet for obscure cards, offline access, or less dependence on a shopping platform. Whichever route you take, retain card numbers and verify every card before discarding your old backup.

Will a screenshot work instead of a loyalty-card app?
