It automates opt-out and deletion requests to more than 420 data brokers, tracks responses, and sends recurring follow-ups. Deloitte verified those operational claims for the period ending July 18, 2025, while independent testing has also ranked Incogni highly among data-removal services.
But Incogni does not make you anonymous or erase the entire internet. It cannot guarantee permanent deletion, remove every search result, or generally process government records, court records, social-media accounts, blogs, or forums. Its main value is convenience: ongoing broker removal without completing dozens or hundreds of opt-out forms yourself.

What Incogni removes—and what it does not
Incogni focuses on data brokers: companies that collect, combine, analyze, and sell personal information. Some operate public people-search sites showing names, addresses, phone numbers, relatives, and employment details. Others maintain private marketing, recruitment, risk-assessment, or identity databases that are not directly searchable by the public.

Incogni says its Standard service covers more than 420 broker websites and databases. Its Custom Removals feature covers more than 2,000 additional sites for eligible requests, but that number is not a promise that every site will remove every type of content.

- Cross-cut paper and credit card shredder cuts material into approximate 0.2 x 0.7 inches (5 x 18 mm) pieces; meets security level P-4 standards
- Shreds up to 8 sheets of 20-pound bond paper at a time; shreds credit cards (one at a time, but not suitable for metal credit cards), staples, and small paper clips
- 3 minute runtime and 30 minute cool down; if unit goes beyond max run time, it automatically shuts off to prevent overheating
- 4 mode control switch (auto/on, off, reverse, forward) and LED status indicators for power on, overheat and overload; easy to empty 3.7 gallon bin
- Quality tested: As part of Amazon Basics quality inspections, we test every shredder before shipping it, which means you may see some paper shreds from the testing
Incogni is not a universal takedown or reputation-management service. Its help center says Custom Removals cannot process requests involving:
- Government websites and records
- Court records
- Publications about criminal proceedings or convictions
- Social-media accounts
- Blogs and forums
It also is not a search-engine delisting service, breach-monitoring service, credit-monitoring service, or guarantee against identity theft, stalking, fraud, or doxxing.
How Incogni works
- You provide identifying information. This may include your name, email address, home address, phone numbers, and other details needed to match you with broker records.
- Incogni identifies likely matches. The service uses your information and region to determine which brokers may hold a profile about you.
- It submits requests. Incogni sends opt-out or deletion requests on your behalf.
- It tracks responses. The dashboard shows request status and history, including responses from individual brokers.
- It follows up. Incogni says it resubmits requests because brokers can rebuild profiles after deletion.
For U.S. users, Incogni says it actively scans people-search sites for matching information. For private databases that cannot be scanned directly, it uses regional and other identifying information to contact brokers that may hold your data. Coverage can differ substantially by country because privacy laws and broker ecosystems differ.

Does Incogni really send removal requests?
The strongest evidence supports the conclusion that Incogni operates a real, large-scale request process.

In an ISAE 3000 limited-assurance report dated August 6, 2025, Deloitte reported that, as of July 18, 2025:
- Incogni sent automated requests to at least 420 data-broker websites and private databases.
- It received and processed removal confirmations from at least 420 covered brokers.
- It sent recurring requests at intervals no longer than 60 days for people-search sites and 90 days for private databases, subject to suppression-list exceptions.
- It had processed more than 245 million removal requests from January 2022 through July 18, 2025.
- Deloitte found no basis within the engagement’s scope to conclude that Incogni sold customer data.
Those findings verify operational claims—not a guaranteed result for every customer. A request can be sent without producing a complete deletion, and a broker confirmation is not the same as an independent check that every copy of the information has disappeared.
Independent testing provides additional, though not definitive, support. Security.org’s 2026 comparison said it tested more than 20 services, made more than 1,500 requests, checked over 50 broker sites, and ranked Incogni best for comprehensive protection. That is evidence from one testing methodology, not a universal success rate.

What results should you expect?
Removal speed varies by broker and jurisdiction. Incogni says some brokers respond within a day, while others take much longer. Its help-center guidance says typical legal processing periods include about 30 days under GDPR and 45 days under CCPA, although verification requests, exemptions, delays, and follow-ups can extend the process.
| Period | What may happen |
|---|---|
| First day | Initial requests may be submitted and some brokers may respond quickly. |
| First few weeks | Some requests may be confirmed while others remain pending or require follow-up. |
| About 30–45 days | Relevant legal-processing windows may have elapsed for some requests, but this is not a guaranteed completion date. |
| 60–90 days | Recurring requests and slower brokers become more important. |
| After cancellation | Incogni’s ongoing follow-ups stop, increasing the risk that a broker profile will reappear. |
Custom Removals are more case-dependent. Incogni says a request can take as little as two weeks or more than a month, depending on the website and its removal process.
Why an ongoing subscription can make sense
Data removal is maintenance, not a one-time eraser. Brokers can obtain new information from public records, commercial sources, websites, or other brokers and rebuild a profile after an earlier deletion.
A one-time manual cleanup may temporarily reduce exposure. An ongoing service is more defensible when the goal is continued suppression across many brokers. However, the subscription does not continuously erase every mention of you online; it maintains requests against the brokers and sites within Incogni’s scope.

Incogni pricing and plans
The following prices were listed on Incogni’s pricing page on August 18, 2026. Prices, taxes, and plan details can change.
| Plan | Annual-billing price | Annual bill | Main difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $7.99/month | $95.88/year | Automated removal from 420+ brokers with recurring requests |
| Unlimited | $14.99/month | $179.88/year | Standard plus unlimited Custom Removals and live phone support |
| Family | $15.99/month | $191.88/year | Coverage for up to five members |
| Family Unlimited | $22.99/month | $275.88/year | Up to five members plus Custom Removals |
Incogni also lists a Standard monthly price of $15.98. It advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, not a free trial. Since some requests can take longer than 30 days, the refund period is not equivalent to seeing the full long-term effect of the service.
Best value for most individuals: Standard, unless you already know you need Incogni’s team to pursue specific uncovered pages. Unlimited is mainly a Custom Removals upgrade, not simply a guarantee of better results from the standard broker network.
Is Incogni safe to trust?
Incogni needs meaningful personal information to locate the records you want removed. That creates an unavoidable trade-off: you are giving another company the information needed to find you across data-broker databases.

Deloitte’s report found no basis, within its limited engagement, to conclude that Incogni sold customer data. That is useful evidence, but it is not a complete cybersecurity audit and does not prove that Incogni can never suffer a security incident or retains no customer information.
Before subscribing, review the current privacy policy, retention terms, and cancellation terms. Also make sure your onboarding information is accurate. Too little information can cause missed matches; inaccurate or excessive information can increase the risk of false matches.

Final verdict
Incogni is legitimate and appears to work as an automated data-broker removal service. The Deloitte report supports its claims that requests are sent, confirmations are processed, and recurring follow-ups operate at scale. Independent testing also supports treating it as a serious service.
Its limits matter just as much. Incogni cannot guarantee that every broker will comply, that every record will be removed, or that information will never return. It does not erase government and court records, social-media posts, blogs, forums, or the entire search-indexed web.
For most individuals, Standard is the sensible starting plan if automation and ongoing maintenance are worth about $95.88 per year. Choose Unlimited only when Custom Removals are genuinely important. If your goal is complete online disappearance, no Incogni plan can deliver that.
