Yes, you can buy cryptocurrency through Coinme and send it to a Polygon wallet—but only when Coinme’s live send screen offers the same Polygon network for the specific asset you bought. Coinme warns that sending an asset over a different network can permanently lose the funds. - A Polygon-compatible wallet, such as MetaMask, with its receive address copied directly from the wallet.
- The exact asset you intend to receive, such as POL or USDC, and confirmation that Coinme supports that asset on Polygon PoS for your account.
- A small amount of POL in the destination wallet if you will later send, swap, or otherwise transact on Polygon.
- A secure place to record your wallet’s secret-recovery phrase. Never share that phrase with Coinme support, a website, or another person.
The address format alone does not prove network compatibility. Many wallets use similar-looking addresses across several networks, so the network selected in Coinme is just as important as the characters in the address.

Can Coinme send cryptocurrency to Polygon?
Coinme publicly lists Polygon-related assets, including Polygon (MATIC) and USDC, and says it operates in 48 U.S. states. Its ATM information also lists Polygon and USDC among assets available for cash pickup. Those statements establish that the assets appear in Coinme’s public offering; they do not establish that every asset can be withdrawn over Polygon PoS from every account or location.
The decisive check happens immediately before you confirm a withdrawal. Coinme’s send flow must show Polygon PoS, or an unambiguous Polygon network option, for the exact asset you selected. If the screen only shows an asset name, does not display a network, or lists another chain, stop. Do not guess based on the wallet address, the ticker, or a previous transaction.
The MATIC-to-POL naming issue
Polygon completed its MATIC-to-POL migration in September 2024. POL is now the native gas and staking token on Polygon PoS. A wallet with older network settings may still display “MATIC,” while a current Polygon setup displays POL. That visual difference does not by itself tell you which withdrawal option Coinme is offering.

When the goal is to execute transactions on Polygon PoS, Polygon support recommends holding POL directly on Polygon mainnet. If you are receiving USDC or another token, plan how you will obtain a small POL balance before trying to move or swap that token.
Prepare a Polygon wallet correctly
Use a wallet that supports Polygon PoS
MetaMask is one example of a wallet that supports Polygon directly. Other wallets may use different labels, but the required checks are the same: choose Polygon mainnet, copy the receive address for the intended asset, and verify that the wallet can display that asset on Polygon.

If you add a network manually, enter values only from a trusted Polygon or wallet source. A malicious RPC or fake wallet page can expose transactions to the wrong chain or attempt to capture your credentials.
Copy the receive address from the wallet
- Open the wallet and switch to Polygon mainnet.
- Open the receive or deposit view.
- Select the exact asset you plan to receive, if the wallet asks you to choose one.
- Copy the address using the wallet’s copy control. Do not type it by hand.
- Keep the wallet open so you can compare the first and last characters with the address shown in Coinme’s review screen.
Do not send an asset to an address merely because the address begins with the same characters as another address you use. Check the asset and network together.
Buy cryptocurrency through Coinme
Buying with cash
Coinme says customers can buy with cash at participating retailers or Coinstar locations. Availability depends on the state and on the specific location. The cash workflow normally requires you to initiate or identify the transaction through your Coinme account, follow the location’s instructions, and retain the receipt or confirmation details until the balance appears.
Before paying, confirm the asset you are buying and whether your account will permit an external send. A cash purchase that appears in your Coinme balance is not automatically proof that Polygon withdrawal is available for that asset.
Buying with a debit card
Coinme says Visa and Mastercard debit cards can be used where available. Its fee page lists a debit-card purchase exchange fee of up to 5.49%, plus a 3.25% card-processing fee with a $1 minimum. These are maximum or stated fee terms on the cited tier, not a guarantee that every transaction will be charged exactly the same percentage. Review the quote shown for your account before submitting payment.

Check Coinme’s network option before sending
This is the most important step because Coinme’s public help material explains the send process and the danger of a mismatched network but does not publish a complete, asset-by-asset table of selectable withdrawal networks.
- Sign in to Coinme.
- Open Transact.
- Choose Send.
- Select the exact cryptocurrency you want to withdraw.
- Paste the Polygon wallet address.
- Look for the network selector or network label. Confirm that it explicitly identifies Polygon, Polygon PoS, or the equivalent Polygon mainnet option.
- Compare the selected network with the network currently displayed in your wallet. Both must refer to Polygon PoS mainnet.
- If the selector is absent, ambiguous, or offers only another network, do not continue. Contact Coinme support before purchasing more or pressing Confirm.
Coinme’s warning is explicit: “Funds sent using a different network will be lost and cannot be recovered.” Treat a network mismatch as a permanent-loss risk, not as a delay that support can necessarily fix.
Send the cryptocurrency from Coinme to Polygon
Exact Coinme send procedure
- Sign in to the Coinme website or mobile app.
- Open Transact and select Send.
- Choose the asset and, where shown, the Polygon network.
- Paste the copied wallet address into the recipient field. Never retype it.
- Enter the amount. Check whether the field represents the amount sent or the amount the recipient will receive after fees.
- Read the complete preview, including asset, network, destination address, amount, and network fee.
- Enter your Coinme passcode when prompted.
- Press the final confirmation control only after every detail matches your Polygon wallet.
- Save the confirmation or transaction ID so you can monitor the transfer.
Coinme says send fees are network fees calculated when the transaction is initiated and displayed before submission. The fee can therefore change with network conditions; the purchase quote and the later send fee are separate costs.
Why a small test transfer is prudent
For a material amount, send a small test first. Wait until it appears in the Polygon wallet, verify the asset and network, and only then send the remainder. A test does not eliminate every risk—an incorrect address can still receive a small amount—but it can reveal a wrong network selection, an unsupported token display, or an unexpected fee before the main transfer.

Coinme’s published asset lists support the existence of Polygon-related options, but they do not guarantee that every listed asset can be sent directly on Polygon PoS. The live send screen is the controlling check for your transaction.
Understand POL gas before receiving tokens
Receiving a token does not normally require you to pay a Polygon transaction fee. Sending that token later, swapping it, or interacting with a decentralized application does. Those transactions are fueled by POL on Polygon PoS.

If your wallet contains USDC but no POL, the USDC can arrive successfully and still appear unusable for a later transfer. Arrange a small POL balance before you need to move the token. Do not assume that a token balance can pay its own gas fee.

What happens after you press Confirm?
Coinme says confirmation can take minutes or longer depending on network activity. A pending status does not necessarily indicate a failure. Wait for the transaction to receive the required network confirmations, then refresh the Polygon wallet.
How to monitor a transfer
- Open the Coinme transaction history and copy the transaction ID if one is provided.
- Use the transaction ID in a Polygon-compatible block explorer such as Polygonscan.
- Check whether the transaction is pending, confirmed, failed, or absent from the network.
- In the wallet, confirm that you are viewing Polygon mainnet and the correct token contract or asset entry.
Transfers are irreversible. A pending transaction may eventually confirm, but a confirmed transfer to the wrong address or network generally cannot be reversed by Coinme or the wallet provider.

Polygon is not listed for the asset
Stop the withdrawal. Do not select another network merely because the wallet address looks compatible. Confirm whether Coinme supports Polygon PoS for that asset and account by contacting Coinme support. If support cannot identify a supported Polygon route, keep the funds in Coinme or use only a destination network explicitly offered for that asset.

Older wallet settings or token labels may still use MATIC. Verify the chain ID is 137 and that the network is Polygon mainnet. Then check the wallet provider’s current token and network instructions before changing labels or adding a custom token. Do not use the ticker alone as proof that a withdrawal is correct.

The transfer is pending for a long time
Check the Coinme status and transaction ID first. If a transaction ID exists, inspect its status on a Polygon explorer. Network congestion can lengthen confirmation times. If no transaction was broadcast, or the status remains unclear beyond the timeframe Coinme gives you, contact Coinme with the account details and transaction information; never submit a second large transfer to “unstick” the first.
The asset arrived but is not visible
Switch the wallet to Polygon mainnet, confirm the address, and add or enable the correct token display using information from a trusted token source. A hidden token display is different from a missing on-chain transfer. Use the transaction ID to distinguish the two.
The address was wrong
Do not assume Coinme can reverse it. Because cryptocurrency sends are irreversible, recovery depends on the recipient controlling the destination address and being willing and able to return the funds. If the address belongs to an exchange or service, contact that service through its official support channel immediately.

- Verify the asset symbol and Polygon network in both Coinme and the wallet.
- Read the entire Coinme preview, including the fee and destination, before confirming.
- Use a small test transfer when the amount is significant.
- Keep your wallet’s secret-recovery phrase offline and private. Anyone who obtains it can take the wallet’s assets.
- Ignore messages asking you to “validate” a wallet by sending funds or revealing the recovery phrase.
- Use only the official Coinme app or website and the wallet’s normal receive screen.
- Save receipts, transaction IDs, and confirmation screens until the transfer is complete.

Neither funding method removes the network-compatibility check. Choose based on the total quote, your state and account eligibility, and how quickly you need the funds—not on the assumption that one method guarantees Polygon withdrawal.
A practical decision sequence
- Confirm eligibility: Verify that Coinme purchases and external sends are available in your state and account.
- Choose the destination asset: Decide whether you need POL for gas or a token such as USDC for holding or spending.
- Prepare Polygon: Set the wallet to Polygon mainnet, chain ID 137, and copy the receive address.
- Buy only what you can verify: Use cash or debit card, then wait for the asset to appear in Coinme.
- Open the send screen: Check that the exact asset has a Polygon PoS withdrawal option.
- Compare the preview: Match the address, network, amount, and live network fee.
- Test first: Send a small amount when the transaction is financially significant.
- Confirm and monitor: Use the transaction ID and Polygon explorer to verify confirmation.
