How Much Is the Galaxy S25 Ultra—and Can You Still Buy It?

The Galaxy S25 Ultra launched in the U.S. at $1,299.99 for 256GB. Samsung began preorders on January 22, 2025, and general sales started February 7, 2025. As of August 18, 2026, it is no longer Samsung’s current Ultra phone: Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP sheet marks the listed 256GB and 512GB models “EOL” (end of life). Remaining new, refurbished, open-box, or carrier inventory may still be available, but a product page alone does not guarantee stock.

The key buying rule is simple: consider the S25 Ultra only if it is meaningfully cheaper than the newer Galaxy S26 Ultra and the listing is for a genuine, unlocked or suitable U.S. model with a reliable return policy and warranty.

Storage Launch MSRP Buying context in 2026
256GB $1,299.99 Lowest-cost version; listed as EOL in Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet.
512GB $1,419.99 More room for games, video, and offline media; listed as EOL.
1TB $1,659.99 Best for extensive local storage, but current availability is especially uncertain.

Samsung’s launch announcement confirms the $1,299.99 starting price and the 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations. Contemporary launch coverage from Tom’s Guide gives the higher-tier launch prices.

  • Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
  • Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
  • Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
  • 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
  • Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).

There is no single dependable “current price” for the S25 Ultra without checking a live listing. Samsung’s March 2026 price document still shows $1,299.99 for 256GB and $1,419.99 for 512GB, but marks both models EOL. Remaining sellers may discount them, while marketplace listings may instead be used, refurbished, open-box, imported, or carrier-locked.

When did the Galaxy S25 Ultra go on sale?

  • January 22, 2025: Samsung opened preorders.
  • February 7, 2025: General availability began in the U.S.

At launch, buyers could order through Samsung.com, Amazon, Best Buy, and major nationwide carriers. Samsung also promoted launch-period trade-in savings of up to $1,250, but that was a 2025 offer—not a discount that should be assumed to remain active in 2026.

Can you still buy the S25 Ultra?

Possibly, but only as remaining inventory rather than as Samsung’s normal current-generation Ultra. Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP sheet marks the listed 256GB and 512GB S25 Ultra models EOL. EOL indicates Samsung’s product-status classification; it does not prove that every retailer has sold its last unit.

Samsung still maintains an S25 Ultra buying page displaying configuration choices. However, the existence of that URL is not proof of inventory, a current promotion, or checkout eligibility. Stock can vary by storage, color, carrier, and location. Refurbished and used phones may be easier to find than new unlocked units.

Where to look for remaining stock

  1. Check Samsung’s official S25 Ultra buying page, but confirm that the exact configuration can actually be added to cart.
  2. Compare major authorized retailers and carrier stores for new or clearance inventory.
  3. Consider reputable refurbished or open-box sellers if the savings justify the shorter or different warranty.
  4. Compare the final cost—not merely the advertised monthly payment—including tax, shipping, activation charges, and financing terms.

Before buying, verify the phone’s condition, model number, U.S. network compatibility, IMEI status, warranty eligibility, return period, and whether the original S Pen is included. For carrier offers, check whether the price requires a new line, qualifying trade-in, device-payment agreement, or bill credits spread over several years.

Which storage version should you choose?

256GB

Choose 256GB if you stream most media, use cloud storage, take ordinary quantities of photos, and want the lowest purchase price. It is sufficient for most buyers, but heavy 4K/8K video recording, large games, and extensive offline downloads can consume space quickly.

512GB

Choose 512GB for frequent photography or video, several large games, substantial offline media, or a phone you expect to keep for many years. Its original premium was $120, but the right premium today depends on remaining-stock pricing.

1TB

The 1TB version suits very heavy video capture and buyers who want maximum local storage. Its launch price was $1,659.99, and it does not appear in Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet, so remaining stock may be scarce. Do not pay a premium merely because it is difficult to find unless you genuinely need the capacity.

What you are getting for the money

The S25 Ultra remains a high-end phone, with a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide and 5x telephoto cameras, a 10MP 3x telephoto camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W wired charging. The listed storage versions have 12GB of RAM. Samsung announced seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.

Two limitations may affect value for particular buyers: the S Pen lacks Bluetooth, so remote-control and air-gesture functions are unavailable, and Qi2-style magnetic accessory use requires a compatible case because the phone does not have built-in magnets. These details are documented in Tom’s Guide’s review.

S25 Ultra versus S26 Ultra: which is the better value?

Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet lists the current-generation Galaxy S26 Ultra at $1,299.99 for 256GB and $1,499.99 for 512GB. That makes an S25 Ultra at its original 256GB MSRP difficult to justify: the newer model has the same listed starting price and active-generation status.

The S25 Ultra becomes more attractive when:

  • Its cash price is substantially below the S26 Ultra’s comparable price.
  • The phone is new or reliably refurbished, unlocked if needed, and covered by a clear return and warranty policy.
  • You prefer a specific S25 Ultra color or configuration.
  • A trade-in promotion makes the older model materially cheaper after all conditions are included.

Compare the official S26 Ultra buying page with the exact S25 Ultra offer. Do not treat an advertised carrier “free” or low monthly price as equivalent to a cash discount until you have checked the trade-in requirements, service commitment, bill-credit period, and consequences of canceling early.

New, unlocked, used, or refurbished?

An unlocked phone usually offers greater flexibility when changing carriers, but it still must support your network’s bands and SIM options. An imported regional model may differ from a genuine U.S. model in compatibility, warranty, and features.

For used, open-box, or refurbished units, check screen and battery condition, activation-lock status, IMEI history, included accessories, warranty length, and the seller’s return policy. Avoid devices still tied to another person’s financing account or reported lost or stolen. A lower sticker price is not a bargain if the phone cannot be activated or has no practical warranty.

If buying from Samsung or another eligible channel, review Samsung Care+ separately. Coverage availability and enrollment rules vary, and launch-period Care+ promotions should not be confused with current terms. Samsung’s trade-in page is the appropriate place to verify a live offer; inspect the exact model, condition rules, credit timing, and return deadline before relying on the advertised amount.

Bottom line

The Galaxy S25 Ultra originally cost $1,299.99 for 256GB, $1,419.99 for 512GB, or $1,659.99 for 1TB in the U.S., and went on sale February 7, 2025. In August 2026, remaining stock may still exist, but Samsung lists the 256GB and 512GB models as EOL. Buy one only at a meaningful discount and after verifying condition, lock status, warranty, and return terms; otherwise, the $1,299.99 Galaxy S26 Ultra starting MSRP makes the newer generation the more straightforward purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does EOL mean the Galaxy S25 Ultra is impossible to buy?

No. It means Samsung classifies the listed models as end of life. Retailers, carriers, and refurbished sellers may still have remaining units, but inventory is not guaranteed.

Are the original Galaxy S25 Ultra trade-in discounts still active?

Not automatically. The advertised savings of up to $1,250 belonged to the 2025 launch period. Check the live terms for the exact phone, condition, and purchase channel.

Should you buy a refurbished Galaxy S25 Ultra?

It can make sense if the discount is substantial and the seller provides a dependable return period, warranty, clean IMEI, clear condition grading, and a compatible U.S. model.
