It was advertised to run through February 28, 2026, with prices starting at $199.99 after a sale price and stackable coupon. That entry price applied to the G3 Pro with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD—not to every GMKtec mini PC. Treat the figures below as historical deal prices, not current Amazon offers.
Deal status and coupon mechanics
GizChina reported a limited-time GMKtec mini-PC sale on Amazon for February 16–28, 2026. The article listed the lowest price as $199.99, compared with a former price of $289.99, after combining sale pricing with an Amazon coupon. The promotion was advertised to run through February 28, but availability, inventory and coupon allocations could have changed earlier. See the original deal report.

Amazon coupons can be tied to a particular hardware variant, account or delivery location. To reproduce a deal of this type, a shopper would need to:
- Select the exact model, RAM and SSD configuration.
- Confirm that the displayed sale price matches that configuration.
- Clip or select the available coupon on the product page.
- Add the system to the cart and verify that the discount appears in the final total.
- Review tax, shipping, seller, return and warranty details before paying.
The deal report did not provide independently verifiable Amazon product URLs, checkout evidence, stock data, tax treatment or shipping costs. The $199.99 figure therefore should not be treated as a guaranteed price for every buyer.

The $199.99 G3 Pro: what you actually get
The entry configuration paired 16GB of memory with a 256GB SSD and Intel’s Core i3-10110U. GMKtec’s specification page lists two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots, support for up to 64GB of RAM, two M.2 storage positions, dual HDMI, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 2.5Gb Ethernet and Windows 11 Pro. GMKtec G3 Pro specifications.
That combination is sensible for web browsing, Microsoft Office, schoolwork, streaming, point-of-sale software and basic home computing. The 16GB RAM prevents the system from feeling as constrained as an 8GB Windows machine during ordinary multitasking.
The processor is the important trade-off. It has only two cores and four threads and is an older low-power chip. It is not a good choice for heavy video editing, virtual machines, large software builds or demanding modern games. The 256GB drive can also fill quickly once Windows, applications, photos and downloaded media are installed.

Is the 512GB G3 Pro worth $49 more?
The reported 512GB version cost $248.99, $49 above the 256GB deal. The larger SSD does not improve CPU or graphics performance, but it is the more practical choice if the computer will be kept for several years, hold local photos or media, or contain many applications. Choose the 256GB version when the lowest entry cost matters and cloud or external storage is already part of the plan.
GMKtec lists two M.2 positions, but the exact slot population and SSD arrangement can vary by SKU. Check the selected configuration before assuming that an unused slot or an easy storage upgrade is available.
How the M2 Pro S compares
The M2 Pro S was listed at $389.99 with 512GB and $417.99 with 1TB. Its official page identifies an Intel Core i7-1185G7 with four cores and eight threads, Iris Xe graphics, two SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB, two M.2 positions, two HDMI outputs plus USB-C for triple-display use, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 2.5Gb Ethernet and Windows 11 Pro. The chassis is listed at 114 × 106 × 42.5mm. GMKtec M2 Pro S specifications.

Compared with the G3 Pro, it is the more suitable platform for several office applications, development tools, multiple monitors and heavier everyday multitasking. The 1TB option was only $28 above the reported 512GB price, so it made more sense for buyers who expected to keep substantial files locally.

Why the M6 Ultra was the performance pick
The reported M6 Ultra price was $367.99 after a stated 13% coupon, below the M2 Pro S prices in the same promotion. GMKtec lists an AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS with six cores and 12 threads, Radeon 760M integrated graphics, DDR5 memory support up to 128GB, two PCIe 4.0 M.2 expansion slots, USB4, HDMI and DisplayPort, triple-display support, Wi-Fi 6E, dual 2.5Gb Ethernet and Windows 11 Pro. It is the logical choice for demanding office multitasking, coding, light creative workloads and casual gaming when a discrete graphics card is not required.
Radeon 760M is still integrated graphics. The available information does not establish sustained clocks, fan noise, thermals, throttling or gaming frame rates, so those should not be promised.

That makes the M8 a possible middle-ground choice, not an automatic winner. Confirm the exact processor, memory, storage, ports, seller and final checkout price before comparing it with the M6 Ultra. No reliable benchmark evidence in the cited material establishes that it is faster than the M6 Ultra.
Best choice by workload
- Lowest-cost Windows desktop: The G3 Pro 16GB/256GB, if a comparable price is actually available.
- Most practical budget configuration: The G3 Pro 16GB/512GB when the storage premium remains close to the reported $49.
- Storage-heavy multitasking: The M2 Pro S 16GB/1TB, provided its reported $417.99 price appears at checkout.
- Best apparent performance tier: The M6 Ultra, because of its six-core Ryzen processor, DDR5, Radeon 760M, USB4 and expansion options.
- Middle ground: The M8 only after its precise configuration and price are verified.
What these systems can and cannot replace
Good uses
- Web browsing, email, office documents and remote-work applications
- Streaming and ordinary home-theater tasks
- Schoolwork and point-of-sale software
- Multi-monitor productivity, especially on the M2 Pro S and M6 Ultra
- Coding and development tools, with the M2 Pro S or M6 Ultra better suited than the G3 Pro
- Light photo work and modest creative projects on the M6 Ultra
Uses that require caution
- Modern AAA gaming, because every cited model uses integrated graphics
- Heavy video editing, 3D rendering or large virtual-machine workloads
- Long sustained workloads where fan noise, cooling and power limits matter
- Large local media libraries on a 256GB drive
Buying and upgrade checks
- Match the product-page selection to the advertised RAM and SSD capacity; Amazon pages often combine several variants.
- Check the seller, fulfillment method, operating-system selection and delivery location.
- Clip the coupon only if it is displayed for the selected SKU.
- Verify the discount in the cart, not just in the headline price.
- Add sales tax and shipping to the comparison.
- Read the listing’s return and warranty terms. GMKtec’s M2 Pro S and M6 Ultra pages show a one-year limited warranty and a seven-day return signal, but those terms should not be generalized to every Amazon seller or configuration.
- Before planning an upgrade, confirm whether the selected unit has removable SO-DIMMs and which M.2 positions are free.
Current alternatives and limitations
Readers shopping after the February campaign can compare newer entry-level Intel mini PCs, AMD Ryzen systems, refurbished Dell OptiPlex Micro, HP Elite Mini or Lenovo Tiny computers, Chromebooks for web-only work, and larger small-form-factor desktops with discrete graphics. Newer AMD systems often offer stronger integrated graphics, while refurbished business machines may offer better serviceability but older processors and different warranty coverage. A discrete-GPU desktop is the appropriate category for serious gaming or video work, at the cost of size, power and price.
GMKtec’s current official pages are not substitutes for the expired Amazon promotion. Current configurations and prices differ from the February figures. Official buying pages include the G3 Pro, M2 Pro S and M6 Ultra. Verify live pricing, stock and policies directly before ordering.
The Bottom Line
The February 2026 promotion was most compelling when the G3 Pro could genuinely be checked out at $199.99 or the M6 Ultra near its reported discounted price. Because the campaign ended on February 28, 2026, those numbers are historical reference points; any replacement offer must be verified by configuration and final cart total.
