DJI expanded its Black Friday promotion in November 2024, adding headline offers on the DJI Mini 3 and DJI Avata 2 Explorer Combo. The wider list also included the Mini 4K, Osmo Action 4 and Osmo Mobile 6. The strongest value depended on what you were buying: a conventional camera drone, an FPV kit, an action camera or a smartphone stabiliser.

What changed when DJI’s Black Friday sale went live?
T3 reported on 21 November 2024 that DJI had expanded a promotion it had already soft-launched earlier in the week. The two newly highlighted products were the DJI Mini 3 and DJI Avata 2 Explorer Combo.

Best beginner drone: DJI Mini 3
The Mini 3 was listed at £295 with the phone-dependent DJI RC-N1 controller. At 248g take-off weight, it was attractive to beginners who wanted a relatively portable conventional camera drone. T3 cited 4K video, 12MP stills and up to 38 minutes of flight time under the relevant battery configuration.

Do not confuse this package with a Mini 3 bundle containing DJI’s screen-equipped RC controller, or with the more capable Mini 3 Pro.
This was arguably the broadest-use deal for a first-time aerial photographer, but only after checking the exact controller and battery contents. A sub-249g drone can simplify some regulatory obligations, but it does not create a blanket exemption from local aviation, operator-registration or safety rules.

Best low-cost route to 4K aerial video: DJI Mini 4K Fly More Combo
The Mini 4K Fly More Combo fell from £399 to £319 in T3’s list. Its main value advantage was the package rather than the headline resolution: the cited contents included an additional battery and charging accessories, with a quoted maximum flight time of 31 minutes per battery.
T3 also cited 4K/30fps video, 10km video transmission, QuickShots and Panorama features. Those specifications do not put the Mini 4K on the same level as more expensive DJI drones for dynamic range, obstacle sensing, subject tracking or low-light image quality.
For a price-sensitive buyer, however, the Fly More package could be more practical than buying a basic drone and adding batteries later. Compare the exact contents before assuming the £319 bundle is equivalent to another Mini 4K listing.
Best FPV experience: DJI Avata 2 Explorer Combo
The Avata 2 Explorer Combo was listed at £879, down from £979. T3 described the package as including DJI Goggles Integra, the DJI RC Motion 2 controller, three batteries, a two-way charging hub and a sling bag.
This is an immersive first-person-view system, not simply a more exciting version of a Mini drone. Goggles and motion-controller flying create a different experience from conventional stick-controlled aerial photography, and the learning curve, flight environment and safety considerations are different too.

The £100 reduction made sense only for someone who specifically wanted FPV flying. If your goal is straightforward travel, landscape or static aerial footage, a Mini 3 or Mini 4K is a more natural comparison.

Best action-camera bargain: DJI Osmo Action 4
The Osmo Action 4 Standard Combo was listed at £199 instead of £289. T3 cited a 1/1.3-inch sensor, 4K/120fps recording, 10-bit D-Log M, a 155-degree field of view, up to 18m waterproofing, approximately 2.5 hours of battery life and HorizonSteady stabilisation.
This is a camera deal, not a drone deal. The quoted battery life and recording capabilities depend on conditions and settings, while waterproofing should be understood within DJI’s stated depth and usage limits rather than as a promise of unlimited underwater or all-weather operation. Check whether the Standard Combo includes the batteries, mounts and protective accessories you need; other packages may contain more.
The discount could appeal to buyers comfortable with a previous-generation action camera. It may be less compelling if newer models offer processing, stabilisation or low-light improvements that matter more than the upfront saving.
Best smartphone-video deal: DJI Osmo Mobile 6
The Osmo Mobile 6 was listed at £85, down from £125. It is a foldable three-axis smartphone stabiliser with ActiveTrack 6.0, a built-in extension rod and quick-launch functionality through DJI Mimo.

It requires a compatible smartphone, and the phone’s size, weight and case can affect fit and balance. It is useful for smoother walking footage, travel videos and talking-head clips, but it cannot replace an action camera for waterproof or high-impact recording and cannot replace a drone for aerial footage.
Bundle details can change the real value
DJI product names are not enough to establish that two offers are equivalent. Before comparing prices, check:
- Controller: the RC-N1 uses a phone, while a DJI RC controller has an integrated display. An Avata motion controller is designed for a different style of flying.
- Batteries: Fly More bundles generally add batteries and charging equipment, but the precise contents should be confirmed on the product page.
- FPV equipment: an Avata Explorer package needs to be compared on the basis of its goggles, controller, batteries, charging hub and bag, not just the aircraft.
- Action-camera accessories: confirm whether the Standard Combo includes the mounts, spare batteries or protective items required for your activity.
- Phone compatibility: check both the Osmo Mobile 6 and RC-N1 requirements against your phone model and case.
Also budget for memory cards, spare propellers, propeller guards where appropriate, replacement batteries, crash damage and any protection plan or insurance you choose. A low headline price is less useful if the package cannot be used without substantial additional spending.

T3’s deal cards labelled the five prices above as offers at DJI. That does not mean every DJI product promotion in the wider Black Friday market was exclusive to DJI’s own store. T3’s broader coverage included retailer offers, and its separate reporting showed a Currys promotion for the Mini 3 Fly More Combo at £579. Later, Very.co.uk offered that bundle at £499, illustrating why a price described as “best” needs a date, retailer and exact configuration attached.

DJI’s official where-to-buy page identifies destinations including DJI’s own store and Amazon. UK shoppers should compare the exact bundle at DJI, Amazon, Currys, Very and specialist camera retailers rather than assuming the official store is cheapest.

Retailer offers may depend on a voucher, membership, financing arrangement or limited stock. Delivery dates, warranty handling and return terms can also differ. Do not attach a current affiliate link or current price to the expired 2024 figures above.
Should you have bought immediately or waited?
During an active promotion, buying early can protect access to a particular bundle, especially when the discount includes scarce batteries, goggles or a gift. Waiting can produce a lower price, as the later Very.co.uk example demonstrates, but it also risks stock disappearing or the desired bundle being replaced by a less suitable configuration.
The sensible decision depended on five checks:
- Was the price genuinely competitive against other UK retailers, rather than merely lower than DJI’s stated previous price?
- Did the bundle contain the controller, batteries and accessories you would otherwise buy separately?
- Was the product current enough for your needs, or was a newer generation already available?
- Would waiting matter more than having the equipment for a fixed travel date or gift?
- Were delivery, warranty and returns acceptable from that seller?
Neither “new deal” nor “Black Friday” proves a record low. A reliable lowest-price claim requires a documented price history for the exact model, bundle, market and retailer.
What applies today?
The original 2024 promotion has ended. DJI’s catalogue and promotions changed substantially afterwards; current DJI search results include newer products such as the Mini 5 Pro, Osmo 360 and Osmo Mobile 8. A later promotion should be checked separately rather than merged into this historical deal list.
For current availability, start with the DJI store and compare the exact UK product page with authorised retailers. DJI’s event page is a US-facing promotional reference and should not be treated as evidence of UK prices, stock or eligibility.
