Historical offer — expired March 30, 2025: Disney+ Canada really did offer new and eligible returning subscribers its Standard With Ads plan for C$1.99 per month for four months. It is not a currently available promotion.
The deal launched alongside Daredevil: Born Again and arrived shortly before Moana 2 joined Disney+ Canada. Anyone considering Disney+ now should check the official Canadian signup page for current pricing and promotions.

What the Disney+ Canada promotion offered
| Term | Original offer |
|---|---|
| Price | C$1.99 per month |
| Duration | Four months |
| Plan | Standard With Ads |
| Eligibility | New and eligible returning subscribers |
| Offer period | March 4–30, 2025 |
| Regular price cited at launch | C$8.99 per month |
| Approximate savings | C$28 before taxes over four months |
The savings calculation was straightforward: four months at the regular C$8.99 monthly price would have cost C$35.96, compared with C$7.96 at the promotional rate. The difference was approximately C$28 before applicable taxes. The advertised price should not be treated as the final tax-inclusive charge.

- Walt Disney Animation Studios? animated musical reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After hearing from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey into long-lost waters for an adventure. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.
Why the timing mattered
The offer began on March 4, 2025, the day Daredevil: Born Again premiered with two episodes. Moana 2 followed on Disney+ Canada on March 12, giving Marvel viewers and families two prominent reasons to use the service during the discounted period.
The four-month window also covered Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and family programming available on Disney+. The promotion did not make those titles exclusive to the deal; it discounted the subscription tier used to watch them.

What “with ads” meant
Standard With Ads was the lower-priced tier, but it did not offer feature parity with Disney+’s ad-free plans. According to the contemporary report, it included:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Streaming at up to 1080p;
- Advertising averaging four minutes or less per hour;
- No downloads for offline viewing.
That made the deal a reasonable short-term option for viewers watching at home who were comfortable with commercial interruptions. It was less suitable for travellers, commuters or anyone who needed to download programmes, and less appealing to households that wanted ad-free viewing.

Who qualified?
The offer was advertised for new subscribers and “eligible returning customers.” The available reporting does not define how long a former subscriber needed to have been away or whether eligibility depended on account history, payment method or another condition.
It is therefore not safe to assume that every cancelled subscriber qualified. The available information also does not confirm that existing subscribers could switch directly to the promotional rate, or that the offer was available through Apple, Google, Roku, telecom or cable-provider billing. It was directed through the official Disney+ website.

What happened after four months?
The promotion lasted four months, but the available report does not establish the exact renewal price or complete post-promotion billing language. It would be inaccurate to promise a particular renewal rate or claim that cancellation happened automatically.

Current Disney+ Canada pricing
The Disney+ Canada page surfaced in research listed the following monthly prices, checked on August 18, 2026:
- Standard With Ads: C$8.99 per month;
- Standard: C$15.99 per month;
- Premium: C$16.99 per month.
Prices and promotions can change, so confirm the current amount directly at Disney+ Canada before subscribing. The official page also indicated that annual Standard and Premium subscriptions offer savings compared with paying monthly for a full year.
Disney’s Canadian page has also promoted bundles involving Crave and TSN. Those services operate independently and have their own terms. A bundle is worth considering only if the household would actually use the additional services; do not assume it is cheaper without comparing the current totals.
Verdict
The C$1.99 Disney+ Canada deal was legitimate and attractive for eligible viewers who wanted Daredevil: Born Again, Moana 2 and other Disney programming in spring 2025. However, the offer ended on March 30, 2025. Readers discovering it now should compare Disney+’s current monthly and annual plans rather than expect the historical promotional price.
