Amazon Canada’s extended 2025 Prime Day sale ran from July 8 through July 11, 2025. It was a historical four-day event, not a current promotion. Amazon Canada has since announced a separate 2026 event, which ran June 23–26, 2026.
The 2025 sale required Prime membership for exclusive deals. The important question for shoppers was not simply whether an item was marked down, but whether its final price, seller, shipping terms and warranty made it a genuinely good purchase.

Amazon Canada Prime Day 2025 at a glance
- Dates: July 8–11, 2025

Amazon described the event as offering hundreds of thousands of deals. That was Amazon’s promotional estimate, not an independent assessment of how many offers represented unusually low prices. The announcement is available from Amazon Canada.
What “extended” meant
The four-day window did not mean every deal remained available continuously until July 11. Lightning Deals, limited-stock offers, coupons and category promotions could have separate end times. Inventory and seller pricing could also change during the event.

Amazon promoted savings on selected products from brands including Samsung, Adidas, Levi’s, L’Oréal, Clinique, LEGO, Ninja, Philips and Shark. These were selected-item promotions—not blanket discounts on every product sold by those brands. Phrases such as “up to” described the best qualifying discounts, not the typical discount across a category.
Who could access the deals?
Prime membership was required for the event’s exclusive offers. Canadian shoppers could generally choose a monthly or annual plan, while eligible customers could start a free 30-day trial. Students and qualifying young adults could receive a six-month trial followed by discounted pricing, according to Amazon’s membership information.

Trial availability is account-specific and may depend on previous Prime use. A free or discounted trial can also convert into a paid membership unless it is cancelled before renewal. Anyone considering membership only for a sale should compare the likely savings with the membership cost.

At the prices cited for the 2025 event, the annual plan worked out to $8.25 per month before tax when used for a full year. Paying monthly for 12 months would cost about $119.88 before tax. A shopper joining briefly should not assume the annual plan is better unless they expect to use Prime throughout the year.

Not every Amazon listing was Prime Day-exclusive. Non-members could still see regular listings and other promotions, and marketplace availability could vary by account, seller, location and quantity.

Amazon also promoted several ancillary offers:
- Giftmania: Checkout Champions: a sweepstakes running through July 11.
- Aeroplan: eligible purchases through the Aeroplan eStore could earn up to 10 times the usual points, with a separate contest involving one-million-point prizes.
- Prime Video: Simple Plan: The Kids in the Crowd debuted on July 8.
These were not universal discounts or guaranteed rewards. Registration, qualifying purchases, eligibility and promotional terms applied.

How to tell whether a Prime Day discount was real
A large percentage beside a product is not enough evidence that it was a good deal. A displayed comparison price may be a list price, reference price or a recently increased price rather than the product’s normal recent selling price.
- Check price history. Tools such as CamelCamelCamel can show historical Amazon pricing and help identify whether the current price was unusually low. Price-history data is supporting evidence, not a guarantee of the lowest price ever.
- Search the exact model number. Similar product names can hide differences in storage, capacity, generation, screen size, accessories or specifications.
- Inspect the coupon. Some discounts required manually selecting a coupon on the product page. Confirm that the saving appears at checkout.
- Check the seller and fulfilment. An item sold by Amazon, fulfilled by Amazon or supplied and shipped entirely by a third party can have different return, warranty and authenticity considerations.
- Review delivery and returns. Compare the promised delivery date, shipping cost, return window and warranty coverage. For appliances, check dimensions, voltage, plug type and Canadian service support.
- Compare the delivered price. Include taxes, shipping, coupons, membership costs and any required accessories—not just the advertised percentage.
For beauty products, food, health items and supplements, seller identity, expiry dates and authenticity safeguards deserve particular attention. Inventory can change quickly, and a product’s price may change between the listing page and checkout.

Amazon versus other Canadian July sales
The 2025 Prime Day event was part of a broader Canadian retail competition. MobileSyrup reported concurrent four-day promotions from Best Buy Canada, Walmart Canada, Visions Canada and Staples Canada.
Each retailer could be a better option depending on the product. Best Buy was a natural comparison for electronics and appliances; Walmart for household goods and everyday essentials; Visions for televisions and audio; and Staples for office equipment, computers and school supplies. Retailer pickup, return policies, warranty support and marketplace seller arrangements could make a modestly higher price worthwhile.
U.S. Prime Day coverage should not be used as a substitute for Canadian deal information. Models, prices, shipping, taxes and warranty terms can differ between the two countries.

The July 11 end date belonged to Amazon Canada’s 2025 event. It should not be presented as a live sale or confused with Amazon Canada’s separately announced June 23–26, 2026 Prime Day event. Expired event pages may still be useful for historical context, but they do not establish that a product is currently discounted.
