Deals: AirTag 2, M4 MacBook Air, Thunderbolt Pro Cable and More

By TheFinanceBase Team 6 min read

These were historical deals from a February 17, 2026 Presidents Day roundup—not confirmed live prices today. The standouts were a $29 AirTag 2, a heavily configured 13-inch M4 MacBook Air for $1,549, and Apple’s 1.8-meter Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable for $36.99. The original roundup’s prices should be treated as expired or unverified unless a retailer independently confirms them.

The best potential value depended on the buyer: the AirTag 2 four-pack was attractive at $99 new, the MacBook Air deal made sense mainly for memory-intensive users, and the cable was worthwhile only for Thunderbolt or USB4 workloads.

AirTag 2: $29 each or $99 for four

The reported AirTag 2 promotion priced a single tracker at $29 and a four-pack at $99. The four-pack worked out to approximately $24.75 per tracker.

  • SHARE ITEM LOCATION — Share AirTag location access temporarily and securely with trusted contacts, third parties, or over 50 airline partners if you lose something important.

Best Buy also listed an open-box four-pack for $87.99, or about $22 per tracker. According to the roundup, the units were in “Excellent” condition, Geek Squad Verified, restored to factory settings, and included parts and accessories, although packaging could vary. The listing also stated a one-year warranty.

The open-box offer saved only $11.01 versus the new four-pack. That is a modest discount, so new units were arguably the safer choice unless the open-box inventory had a favorable return policy and was still available. Check the condition grade, warranty, shipping charge, tax, and return terms before comparing the two prices.

AirTag 2 versus the older AirTag

The original roundup also reported an older-generation AirTag four-pack for $64, or roughly $16 each. That is substantially cheaper than either AirTag 2 offer. Buyers who simply need several trackers for keys, bags, or luggage may get better value from the older model if they do not specifically need a newer generation.

Retailers and deal trackers were selling the second-generation product, and AppleInsider’s price tracker reported a January 26, 2026 launch date. However, the available evidence did not include an official Apple announcement or specifications page confirming every AirTag 2 feature. Claims about improved range, speakers, tamper resistance, or Vision Pro integration should therefore be treated as secondary-source claims, not established Apple specifications.

Also budget for holders, key rings, replacement batteries, and shipping. AirTag is designed primarily for people in Apple’s ecosystem; Android-only households may prefer a compatible alternative, while anyone needing live vehicle or person tracking needs a dedicated GPS product rather than a Bluetooth-style item tracker.

M4 MacBook Air: $1,549 for 32GB and 1TB

The most configuration-specific deal was a 13-inch M4 MacBook Air in Sky Blue with 32GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD at B&H for $1,549 shipped. The stated regular price was $1,799, making the reported discount $250, or about 14%.

This was more interesting than a generic “M4 MacBook Air on sale” headline. Major retailers did not necessarily stock the same 32GB/1TB combination, so the value came from getting more memory and storage in a particular configuration—not from a faster M4 chip than the cheaper models.

Apple’s specifications show that the M4 MacBook Air can be configured with 24GB or 32GB of unified memory and 512GB to 2TB of SSD storage. It has two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and can support up to two external displays under specified conditions. Who should consider the 32GB/1TB model?

  • Developers running large projects, containers, emulators, or virtual machines.
  • Photographers, video editors, musicians, and other creative users working with large files.
  • Heavy multitaskers who regularly keep demanding applications open together.
  • Buyers planning to keep the laptop for several years and who value memory headroom.

Thirty-two gigabytes does not automatically make everyday browsing, writing, streaming, or office work faster. It mainly reduces the risk of running short of memory when applications and files become demanding. Memory is not user-upgradable, which makes the initial configuration important. Storage can often be supplemented with an external SSD, although that is less convenient than having 1TB internally.

Cheaper M4 Air alternatives

The roundup reported the 13-inch base M4 MacBook Air from about $849, or $150 off, and the 15-inch base model from about $1,049, also $150 off. Those lower prices are likely better for ordinary productivity users who can work comfortably with 16GB of memory and less internal storage.

Choose the cheaper configuration when you mainly browse, write, stream media, use office software, and store files in the cloud or on external drives. Choose the 32GB/1TB model when the extra memory and storage solve a real workload problem. Do not pay the premium merely because the specification looks more future-proof.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Also compare the discounted M4 with newer-generation MacBook Air pricing before buying. The M4 model may be a good deal when its configuration discount is large, but it is not automatically the best purchase if a newer model is close in price. Buyers needing sustained professional workloads, more ports, or a larger or higher-end display should compare a MacBook Pro or desktop Mac instead. The fanless Air is optimized for portability and quiet operation; avoid assuming it will behave like a continuously powered professional workstation without independent testing.

Apple Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable: $36.99 at Woot

Woot reportedly offered Apple’s 1.8-meter black braided Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable for $36.99, compared with a stated regular price of $69. That is approximately 46% off the stated comparison price. Prime members reportedly received free shipping, while other buyers faced a $6 delivery fee.

The cable was described as supporting Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB4 data transfers up to 40Gb/s, USB 3 transfers up to 10Gb/s, DisplayPort video, and charging up to 100W. The Woot listing, as reported in the roundup, also stated a one-year Apple warranty.

Verify the exact listing before purchasing. The original coverage used the broad phrase “Thunderbolt Pro Cable,” but described a Thunderbolt 4 product measuring 1.8 meters. Apple also sells Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable products, so a Thunderbolt 5 cable should not be substituted for the reported Thunderbolt 4 model. Apple’s product page for the reported model is Apple Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable, 1.8 m.

Is a $37 cable worth it?

It can be, but only for the right setup. A high-speed cable makes sense for a Thunderbolt dock, fast external SSD, compatible display, or demanding Mac workstation where bandwidth, display support, length, and durability matter.

  • 【Upgraded Twist-Lock & Dual-Layer Protection】 Custom-designed for Apple AirTag 1st and 2nd Gen, the precise cutouts fit perfectly without obstructing signal transmission. Different from ordinary silicone cases, this protective cover features a detachable hard PC inner shell combined with a soft silicone outer layer. The unique rotating lock (Twist-Lock) design on the inner shell firmly secures your AirTag, completely preventing it from slipping out or getting lost. The high-elastic silicone outer layer provides strong cushioning against accidental bumps and drops, offering ultimate peace of mind for your tracker. (Note: AirTag is NOT included.)

It is overkill for charging a phone, connecting a keyboard, or powering a basic USB-C accessory. USB-C describes the connector shape, not the cable’s performance. Before buying, confirm the generation, length, data rate, display support, and power rating. A less expensive USB-C cable may be the better personal-finance choice for simple charging or low-speed peripherals.

Other deals in the February roundup

The same roundup included several secondary offers:

  • M5 MacBook Pro: a 24GB/512GB model at $1,549, described as $250 below a $1,799 list price; B&H also listed 32GB configurations with discounts of up to $300.
  • AirPods Pro 3: priced near a previous holiday low.
  • Apple Magic Mouse: approximately $68.
  • Anker Qi2 3-in-1 charging station: $119.99 after an on-page coupon, against a stated $150 list price.
  • Apple 240W USB-C woven cable: $18.
  • Other accessories: Apple Watch bands, charging accessories, power banks, hubs, and third-party cables.

Coupon-based prices require the coupon to be clipped and may change at checkout. MacBook configurations, colors, sellers, and fulfillment terms can also vary by retailer.

How to judge a dated deal before paying

  1. Confirm the date and live price. Do not assume a February 17 price remains valid months later.
  2. Match the exact configuration. For a Mac, check screen size, chip, memory, SSD capacity, color, included adapter, and model number.
  3. Check the seller and condition. New, open-box, refurbished, and third-party marketplace inventory are not interchangeable.
  4. Add the real checkout cost. Include shipping, tax, membership requirements, coupons, and accessories.
  5. Read warranty and returns. Retailer policies may differ from Apple’s, especially for open-box or marketplace products.
  6. Compare the alternative, not just the discount. An older AirTag, base MacBook Air, ordinary USB-C cable, or newer-generation product may be the better value.

Bottom line

The strongest historical offer was the 13-inch M4 MacBook Air with 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD at $1,549—but only for buyers who could use the extra capacity. The AirTag 2 four-pack at $99 was reasonable, while the older AirTag four-pack at $64 was the low-cost choice. The $36.99 Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable was a meaningful discount for high-speed connectivity, not a sensible upgrade for routine charging. All three offers came with configuration, condition, shipping, or availability caveats, and none should be treated as live without retailer confirmation.
