If the maximum number is actually repurchased and the shares are held as treasury stock, the number of shares available to outside investors could fall. A smaller share count can affect per-share measures mathematically, but the eventual effect depends on Daisue’s earnings, the timing and cost of purchases, and whether treasury shares are later cancelled, reissued, or otherwise used.
