Prices checked: August 16, 2026. The lowest iPhone 15 Plus price found in the U.S. listings checked for this guide was $394.44 for a refurbished, fully unlocked 128GB Walmart Restored listing. For most buyers, however, the better balance of price and purchase convenience was a $439.99 Best Buy Refurbished Excellent 128GB unlocked model.
Apple Certified Refurbished models cost more—$619 for 128GB and $699 for 256GB—but include a new battery, Apple’s warranty, and a 14-day return policy. Prices, sellers, and inventory can change quickly, so treat the figures below as dated snapshots rather than guaranteed offers.

Is the iPhone 15 Plus still sold new?
In the U.S. listings checked for this guide, meaningful iPhone 15 Plus availability was refurbished rather than new. Shoppers should expect to find Apple Certified Refurbished units, retailer-refurbished and open-box phones, used marketplace listings, remaining carrier inventory, and occasional activation or trade-in promotions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

It does mean buyers should compare the total cost and warranty of a refurbished 15 Plus with current-generation iPhones instead of assuming a new retail supply.

The best iPhone 15 Plus deals right now
Best overall: Best Buy refurbished 128GB unlocked at about $440
The observed $439.99 Best Buy Refurbished Excellent unlocked listing is the most balanced choice for many buyers. It costs substantially less than Apple Certified Refurbished and avoids the carrier commitment attached to many “free phone” offers.
Before paying, open the specific product page and confirm the seller, battery-health guarantee, warranty provider, return deadline, and whether the listing is actually fully unlocked. “Compatible with AT&T” or “works with T-Mobile” is not the same as an unlocked phone.
Buy this if: you want a large-screen iPhone, plan to pay upfront, and want a mainstream retailer without paying Apple’s full refurbishment premium.
Skip it if: the listing has no clear battery guarantee, has a short return period, or is priced within roughly $100 of a newer iPhone.
Cheapest unlocked option: Walmart Restored 128GB at $394.44
The Walmart Restored fully unlocked 128GB listing was the lowest price found. Other surfaced Walmart listings included a T-Mobile 128GB model at $413.81 and a fully unlocked 256GB model at $494.66.

This is a bargain-hunter option, not an automatic recommendation. Marketplace listings can vary by seller and condition even when they appear on the same retailer site. Save a screenshot of the listing, seller name, storage capacity, unlocked claim, battery promise, condition grade, and return policy before ordering.
Buy this if: the listing clearly identifies a reputable seller, provides a usable return window, and the price remains meaningfully below safer alternatives.

Skip it if: the seller will not state the minimum battery capacity, the warranty is unclear, the phone is carrier-specific, or the return terms are difficult to use.
Best 256GB value: Best Buy at about $508
The observed Best Buy 256GB refurbished listing was $508—about $68 above the observed 128GB Best Buy listing. That is a relatively modest premium if you keep photos, 4K video, games, or offline downloads on the device.
Apple’s Certified Refurbished 256GB model was observed at $699, or $80 above Apple’s 128GB model. The Apple premium buys stronger battery and warranty assurances, not a faster processor or a different display.

Best premium option: Apple Certified Refurbished
Apple says its Certified Refurbished iPhones receive full functionality testing, cleaning, inspection, repackaging, and genuine replacement components where needed. The iPhone listings include a new battery and outer shell, a one-year limited warranty, 14-day returns, and AppleCare eligibility.

How much should you pay?
These are editorial buying thresholds, not guaranteed market prices:
Rank #4
- 6.7inch Super Retina XDR display. Aluminum with color-infused glass back. Ring/Silent switch
- Dynamic Island. A magical way to interact with iPhone. A16 Bionic chip with 5-core GPU
- Advanced dual-camera system. 48MP Main | Ultra Wide. Super-high-resolution photos (24MP and 48MP). Next-generation portraits with Focus and Depth Control. 4X optical zoom range
- Emergency SOS via satellite. Crash Detection. Roadside Assistance via satellite
- Up to 26 hours video playback. USB C, Supports USB 2. Face ID
- Under $400: Usually used, marketplace, carrier-specific, or lower-confidence refurbished stock. Verify everything.
- $400–$525: The strongest value range for reputable retailer-refurbished or Restored unlocked 128GB and 256GB models.
- $600–$700: Reasonable for Apple Certified Refurbished when its new battery and warranty matter.
- $800 or more: Difficult to justify unless the phone is new, has unusually high storage, or includes valuable coverage.
A useful rule of thumb is an unlocked 128GB refurb at or below $450 from a reputable retailer is an excellent buy, while an unlocked 256GB model at or below $525 is worth serious consideration. Do not apply either rule if a newer iPhone is only $50–$100 more.
128GB or 256GB?
The iPhone 15 Plus was sold in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB capacities. 128GB is adequate for light-to-moderate users who stream media, use cloud photo storage, and do not keep many large games or videos locally.
Choose 256GB if you take frequent photos, record 4K video, download entertainment for travel, play large games, or expect to keep the phone for several years. Compare the actual storage premium: at the observed Best Buy prices, the extra capacity cost about $68; at Apple, it cost $80.
What you still get with the iPhone 15 Plus
The iPhone 15 Plus remains attractive primarily because of its large display and battery-oriented design. Apple lists:

- A 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 2796 × 1290 resolution at 460 pixels per inch.
- An A16 Bionic chip.

- A dual-camera system with a 48MP main camera.
- Up to 26 hours of video playback under Apple’s testing method.
- MagSafe charging up to 15W, Qi2 charging up to 15W, and Qi charging up to 7.5W.
- IP68 water and dust resistance under laboratory conditions.
U.S. iPhone 15 Plus models are eSIM-only and do not accept a physical SIM card. Confirm that your carrier supports eSIM activation before buying.

Where the 15 Plus falls behind newer iPhones
The iPhone 15 Plus is a September 2023 generation device. It lacks the Pro models’ telephoto camera and ProMotion high-refresh display, and it uses the Ring/Silent switch rather than the newer Action button.
It can still be a good value, but only at the right price. Current deal coverage increasingly emphasizes newer iPhone 17-series and iPhone 17e promotions, so compare the final price—not just the advertised monthly payment—before choosing the older model. A newer iPhone may also be the better choice if you want the latest camera features, a longer runway of expected support, or a current model at a small price difference.
Calculate the real cost
Compare offers using this formula:
Total cost = phone price + sales tax + shipping + activation fee + required plan cost during the credit period − actual trade-in value − guaranteed gift-card value + insurance or protection-plan cost
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
For a refurbished unlocked phone, that usually means the displayed price plus tax. For a carrier promotion, include every required plan premium and the cost of remaining with that carrier for the full bill-credit period.
What to check before buying refurbished
- Confirm the lock status. Prefer “fully unlocked” or “factory unlocked.” Ask the seller to confirm activation on your intended carrier.
- Check the IMEI. Verify that the phone is not reported lost, stolen, or blocked. Use the seller’s stated process or a reputable carrier/device-check tool.
- Confirm Activation Lock is removed. The phone should reach the normal Hello setup screen and must not request the previous owner’s Apple Account credentials.
- Get the battery promise in writing. Ask for minimum capacity, whether the battery is genuine Apple, whether an “unknown part” warning may appear, and whether replacement is covered.
- Review parts history. Refurbished does not mean Apple-refurbished. Displays, batteries, cameras, or housings may have been replaced by a third party.
- Test the hardware immediately. Check Face ID, cameras, flash, display, USB-C charging, speakers, microphones, buttons, Wi-Fi, cellular service, and wireless charging.
- Test eSIM activation before the return deadline. Do not wait until the old phone has been erased or returned.
- Document the listing. Save the product page and seller details in case the condition, storage, or lock status differs from the advertisement.
- Know the return and warranty provider. A retailer’s return window may differ from the refurbisher’s warranty, and optional protection plans are not substitutes for clear basic coverage.
Carrier deals: when “free” is not cheapest
No clearly verifiable live August 2026 carrier promotion for the iPhone 15 Plus was identified in the supplied listings, so older AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile promotions should not be treated as current offers.
When a carrier deal does appear, check whether it requires a new line, a premium unlimited plan, a qualifying trade-in, taxes on the full phone price, and 24 or 36 months of bill credits. Leaving early, changing plans, or upgrading may stop the remaining credits. The phone may also be locked for a stated period.
Carrier financing can be worthwhile for an existing customer with a valuable trade-in who will keep the qualifying plan for the entire term. It is usually a poor fit for prepaid users, frequent switchers, international travelers who need flexibility, or anyone comparing only the advertised “$0 per month” figure.

Final recommendations
- Buy the Best Buy unlocked 128GB refurb if you want the best balance of price and convenience and the individual listing has clear returns and warranty terms.
- Choose the Walmart Restored unlocked model if the lowest upfront price matters most and you are comfortable checking seller, battery, IMEI, Activation Lock, and return details.
- Choose 256GB when the premium is around $70–$80 and you store substantial media locally.
- Pay for Apple Certified Refurbished when a new battery, Apple’s one-year warranty, 14-day returns, and AppleCare eligibility justify the premium.
- Choose a carrier offer only after calculating the required plan, trade-in, taxes, lock period, and full bill-credit commitment.
- Skip the 15 Plus if its price approaches a newer iPhone or if you specifically need a telephoto camera, ProMotion, or the Action button.
