What DOKU does
DOKU provides businesses and consumers with payment acceptance, payout and wallet services. A single gateway integration covers more than 45 payment methods, and checkout lets customers change methods without canceling the transaction.
Businesses can make payment links, digital invoices and online catalogs. DOKU also supports recurring and marketplace payments, domestic payouts, QRIS and embedded wallet services.
Fees and plans
There are no setup or monthly charges across DOKU services. Payment charges apply only when transactions succeed, and listed prices exclude VAT. No free trial is offered, although several plans are free before transaction fees.
Digital Catalog has no plan charge, with payment-method fees applying to transactions. DOKU Plugin is free but adds payment-method charges and a 0.2% platform fee. The separate Plugins plan is free with payment-method fees; Shopify adds 0.2%. Payment Link has no plan charge, while transaction costs depend on the method used.
QRIS is priced at 0.70 IDR per transaction. Transactions from 0 to 100,000 IDR have a 0% rate, and an additional DOKU fee may apply. E-wallet transactions are listed at 1.50 IDR per transaction: DOKU e-Wallet and DANA 1.5%, OVO 2%–3.18%, ShopeePay 2%–4%, and LinkAja 2%–3.5% or 2,500 IDR.
Card transactions carry a 2.80 IDR charge per transaction. Amex is 3.5% plus 2,000 IDR, while installments are 5%–9% plus 2,000 IDR. Bank-account validation costs 500 IDR per successful request and requires no upfront deposit.
Domestic payout package 1 charges 1,500 IDR for each successful transfer from 10,000 to 250,000,000 IDR through BI Fast and is available 24/7. DOKU also lists Domestic Payouts Paket 1 at the same fee and range. Paket 3 is 35,000 IDR per successful transfer above 250,000,000 IDR.
A bank-transfer virtual account is listed at 4,000 IDR per transaction, or 4,500 IDR for BCA. There is no single overall payment rate because the charge varies by method.
Where it runs
DOKU offers Android and iPhone apps, a web dashboard and APIs. Integration choices cover hosted Checkout, Direct API, plugins, SDKs and libraries, as well as an MCP Server for AI tools.
Juragan DOKU can generate checkout links, payment links and e-catalogs, with real-time reports. Links can also originate in the web dashboard, then be shared by email, social networks or chat apps, or sent through a WhatsApp bot with automated reminders.
The e-wallet iPhone app needs iOS 13.0 or later and occupies 117 MB. Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento are supported by the plugins, which provide self-service CMS setup and real-time transaction notifications.
Protection and rules DOKU publishes
DOKU says Bank Indonesia licenses it as a PJP Level 1 provider for payment gateway, remittance, e-money, e-wallet and QRIS services. It also reports PCI DSS and ISO 27001 credentials, AES-256 encryption and periodic audits.
According to DOKU's API documentation, revealing a secret key requires an email one-time password, after which the key remains visible for 30 seconds. The documentation advises scheduled or immediate key regeneration.
Google Play reports that Juragan DOKU may share personal information and app activity, collects personal and financial information, encrypts data in transit and supports deletion requests. Consumer assistance is available by phone and email, with help-center articles and ticket submission.
Strengths
One account registration provides access to more than 45 payment methods, including Indonesian e-wallets, bank channels, cards and QRIS. Domestic Payouts can transfer funds in real time to over 100 Indonesian banks and accept up to 1,000 recipients in one upload.
Businesses can choose among checkout pages, hosted pages, APIs and plugins. Payment links, invoices and the digital catalog support sales shared through web, social, chat and email.
Catches and conditions
Payment-method costs vary, and VAT is not included. The listed plugin plans apply a 0.2% platform fee to Shopify. The payout package priced at 1,500 IDR covers 10,000–250,000,000 IDR transfers through BI Fast; the larger package starts above 250,000,000 IDR.
Once the recipient has received funds, a domestic payout that has completed cannot be refunded. Embedded Wallet describes transfers to over 100 bank accounts for premium users. DOKU lists two supported currencies and one payout country.
API access uses Client ID, Secret Key, DOKU and merchant public keys, plus a token URL for applicable SNAP integrations. Businesses should verify the relevant method charge, currency and payout route before setup.
Who may want another option
DOKU may be unsuitable for a business needing payouts beyond its single listed country, more than two supported currencies or a published all-in monthly price.
It may also be a poor fit when a completed payout must be reversible, because DOKU says domestic payouts cannot be refunded after receipt.
Verdict
DOKU fits businesses seeking Indonesian payment coverage, links or catalogs, and payout tools in one service. Free entry plans limit fixed charges, but each payment route has its own cost and some methods add platform fees. Web, mobile, API and plugin access are available, alongside credential details and sandbox documentation for developers. It is less suitable for operations needing multiple payout countries, wider currency support or reversibility after recipients receive funds.
