As checked on August 18, 2026, the iPhone 17 costs about Rs400,000 for the 256GB PTA-approved model and Rs482,500 for 512GB, based on prices attributed to Mercantile Pakistan. Retail listings can be lower or higher depending on storage, PTA status, activation, warranty, seller, and payment terms. Non-PTA examples range from roughly Rs325,000 for 256GB to Rs394,500 for 512GB, but these are retailer listings—not a universal market price.
The iPhone 17 is a strong purchase for buyers who want a 120Hz display, better ultra-wide camera, long software support, and dependable local cellular use. For an iPhone 16 owner, however, the upgrade is less urgent unless ProMotion, camera improvements, or official PTA-backed support matter.

iPhone 17 price in Pakistan
The clearest official-market reference is Mercantile Pakistan’s announced pricing, reported on October 3, 2025:
Recommended Free Tools
| Variant | PTA status | Reference price | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| 256GB | PTA-approved official-market stock | Rs400,000 | Warranty issuer, invoice, IMEI registration |
| 512GB | PTA-approved official-market stock | Rs482,500 | Warranty issuer, invoice, IMEI registration |
HUM News reported these Mercantile-attributed prices. A WhatMobile listing showed Rs398,999 on July 18, 2026, broadly consistent with the 256GB launch reference, but neither figure should be treated as a live quotation from every Pakistani retailer.

Retail examples show why the label beside a price matters. AppleShop Pakistan listed PTA-approved models from Rs362,999 to Rs482,000, while another retailer listed non-PTA examples at Rs325,000 for 256GB and Rs394,500 for 512GB. These listings may reflect different stock conditions, seller warranties, activation status, and storage variants. Check the total payable amount before comparing.
A quoted price may exclude PTA registration, delivery, insurance, sales tax, installment markup, or a wall charger. Ask the seller to state storage + PTA status + activation status + warranty provider + final price on the invoice.
View the AppleShop Pakistan listing and the separate retailer listing with non-PTA examples. Retailers using Apple-related names should not automatically be described as Apple-owned or Apple-authorized.
PTA-approved versus non-PTA iPhone 17
A PTA-approved phone is registered for use on Pakistani mobile networks. It is generally the safer choice for a primary phone because cellular service, resale, and ownership records are less uncertain.
A non-PTA imported phone is not necessarily counterfeit. It may work temporarily under applicable local rules, but continued cellular use can require registration and payment of applicable duties and taxes. The amount cannot be responsibly stated as one fixed figure: it depends on the IMEI, declared value, registration route, and the government’s current schedule.
Before buying, check both IMEIs through official PTA/DIRBS channels. On a dual-IMEI model, checking only one number is insufficient. A box sticker, seller screenshot, or verbal promise is not proof that the phone is registered.

- Choose PTA-approved if this is your main phone, you need reliable local cellular service, or you want easier resale and locally supported warranty.
- Consider non-PTA only if you understand registration rules, can tolerate uncertainty, and will mainly use Wi-Fi or a secondary phone.
Availability and warranty in Pakistan
Pakistan has distributor-backed and reseller availability, but this should not be confused with an Apple-operated Pakistan online store. Jazz announced an iPhone 17 launch with Mercantile, describing PTA-approved devices and two-year warranty coverage. See Jazz’s announcement. Airlink was also reported as offering PTA-approved iPhones through its outlets with Shield+ two-year protection. See the Airlink availability report.
“Two-year warranty” is not automatically the same as Apple’s international limited warranty. In writing, confirm who performs repairs, whether genuine parts are used, whether accidental damage is covered, whether replacement is possible, whether the warranty transfers, and who pays for shipping and diagnostics.

Processor and storage
- Apple A19 chip.
- Six-core CPU with two performance cores and four efficiency cores.
- Five-core GPU with Neural Accelerators.
- Sixteen-core Neural Engine and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
- 256GB or 512GB storage; no microSD expansion.
Apple says A19 is 1.5 times faster than A15 in CPU performance and that its GPU is more than twice as fast in the relevant comparison. Those are Apple’s claims, not independent benchmark results. The practical expectation is fast app launches, strong gaming performance, and a long useful lifespan.
Cameras
| Camera | Key features |
|---|---|
| Main | 48MP Fusion Main camera |
| Ultra-wide | 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera with macro photography |
| Zoom | Optical-quality 2x crop from the main camera |
| Front | 18MP Center Stage camera with flexible framing |
| Video | Up to 4K at 60fps, Dolby Vision, Cinematic mode, Action mode, spatial photo and video |
The important change is that the standard iPhone gets 48MP cameras on both rear systems. The ultra-wide should provide more detail and makes macro photography more useful. Center Stage can automatically keep people in frame and can create landscape framing while the phone is held vertically. Apple also supports 4K HDR video and Dual Capture for recording with front and rear cameras simultaneously.

If distant subjects are a major priority, compare the price of an iPhone 17 Pro, a suitably priced iPhone 16 Pro, or a recent Galaxy S Ultra model.

Battery, charging, and box contents
- Apple-rated video playback: up to 30 hours.
- Up to 50% charge in 20 minutes with a suitable high-wattage USB-C adapter.
- MagSafe wireless charging up to 25W.
- Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W.
- USB-C charging.
- Box includes the iPhone, USB-C cable, and documentation—not a wall charger.
Apple’s 30-hour figure is a video-playback rating, not a promise of 30 hours of mixed use on Pakistani mobile networks. Battery life will vary with 5G, brightness, camera use, gaming, GPS, temperature, and signal quality. Budget separately for a reputable USB-C Power Delivery charger. Apple identifies an optional 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W maximum output in its launch material.
Connectivity and SIM
- 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thread, NFC, and Ultra Wideband.
- USB-C data transfer is limited to USB 2 speeds up to 480Mb/s.
- Advanced eSIM support, with regional differences.
SIM hardware is a major import risk. Apple identifies eSIM-only markets including the United States and several Gulf, Asian, and North American markets, but regional versions can differ. Confirm the exact model number and Pakistani carrier eSIM support before paying. Do not assume a U.S. or Gulf unit has a physical SIM tray.
iPhone 17 review: what matters in daily use
Display: the most meaningful everyday upgrade
ProMotion up to 120Hz is likely the iPhone 17’s most noticeable improvement for ordinary users. Scrolling, animations, reading, gaming, and camera viewfinder movement should feel smoother than on a conventional 60Hz panel. Not every app renders at 120 frames per second, and Apple’s brightness numbers are maximum or controlled-condition ratings rather than a guarantee of identical brightness in every outdoor situation.
Performance and Apple Intelligence
A19 gives the phone substantial headroom for demanding apps, gaming, photography, and on-device processing. Apple Intelligence support is part of the platform, but actual feature availability can depend on language, region, account settings, and software version. Buyers should not purchase solely on the assumption that every feature will be available in Pakistan in the same form as elsewhere.
Camera quality and limitations
The 48MP ultra-wide is a meaningful improvement for landscapes, groups, interiors, and macro shots. The 18MP Center Stage camera is particularly useful for video calls, group selfies, and creators who switch between portrait and landscape framing. Video capabilities remain a major strength, including stabilization, Dolby Vision, and 4K recording.
The compromise is reach. There is no dedicated long-range telephoto camera, so distant subjects will not receive the same optical treatment as on a Pro model. Buyers who mostly photograph people, food, travel, and everyday scenes should find the system more than capable; serious long-distance zoom users should look higher in the range.

Battery, heat, and gaming
The advertised endurance is promising, but real battery performance depends heavily on usage. Sustained gaming, 5G, GPS, the camera, and high brightness can generate heat—especially during Pakistan’s hot summers. A thick case can make heat dissipation less effective. Look at sustained performance rather than short benchmark bursts, and avoid charging under direct heat while gaming.

| Alternative | Consider it when | Main caution |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 16 Pro | It is available near the iPhone 17 price and you value telephoto or Pro features. | Check battery health, repair history, PTA status, and remaining warranty. |
| iPhone 17e | You want a lower-cost Apple phone and can accept fewer features. | Compare its actual Pakistan price and specifications before deciding. |
| iPhone 17 Pro | You need dedicated telephoto capability and more advanced Pro features. | The price premium may be substantial. |
| Recent Samsung Galaxy S Ultra | You want Android flexibility, long-range zoom, or different charging and display options. | Compare local warranty, PTA status, and total ownership cost. |
| Used iPhone 15 Pro or 16 Pro | You want Pro cameras at a lower entry price. | Inspect Activation Lock, battery health, display, cameras, repairs, and IMEI. |
Which storage should you buy?
256GB
Choose 256GB if you mainly use messaging, social media, streaming, ordinary photography, and cloud backups. It is the better-value choice for most buyers unless the price difference is unusually small.
512GB
Choose 512GB if you record substantial 4K video, keep large games installed, avoid cloud storage, or plan to retain the phone for several years. The extra capacity is difficult to add later because there is no microSD slot.
Pakistan buying checklist
- Get both IMEIs using
*#06#or Settings > General > About. - Check both IMEIs through official PTA/DIRBS channels before payment.
- Ensure the invoice explicitly says PTA-approved if that is part of the deal.
- Match the IMEI on the phone, box, invoice, and receipt.
- Confirm whether the device is sealed, activated, open-box, used, refurbished, or replaced.
- Check Apple warranty coverage through Apple’s official coverage-checking page.
- Get the warranty provider, exclusions, repair process, and claim location in writing.
- Confirm the phone is not carrier-locked, JV, iCloud-locked, previously repaired, or falsely advertised as new.
- For used or open-box units, test Face ID, cameras, speakers, microphone, USB-C port, display, True Tone, and battery health.
- Confirm the regional model’s SIM configuration and Pakistani carrier compatibility.
- Demand a tax invoice and written return policy.
- For installments, compare total repayment—not only the monthly amount.
Hidden costs and misleading listings
The cheapest headline price may exclude PTA registration, delivery, tax, warranty, accessories, or installment charges. A low price can also indicate a non-PTA, activated, used, refurbished, region-specific, JV, or warranty-excluded device.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
For protection, a MagSafe-compatible case and quality screen protector are sensible additions. Avoid cases that obstruct Camera Control, weaken MagSafe alignment, or trap excessive heat. Cheap unbranded chargers can create safety and reliability problems; choose Apple or an established USB-C PD brand such as Anker, Ugreen, or Belkin.
Who should buy the iPhone 17?
- Best for: iPhone 13–15 owners wanting a smoother display, stronger cameras, modern connectivity, and long support.
- Good for: Buyers who want a balanced standard iPhone rather than paying for Pro cameras.
- Less compelling for: Recent iPhone 16 or Pro owners who already have a 120Hz display or do not need the new camera features.
- Not ideal for: Buyers who require a physical SIM tray, dedicated long-range zoom, or the lowest possible entry price.
For a primary phone in Pakistan, the safer financial choice is usually a verifiably PTA-approved unit with a clear invoice and credible warranty, even when a non-PTA listing looks cheaper. Consider waiting for a discount only when you can continue using your current phone; do not sacrifice IMEI verification or warranty clarity to save a small amount.
