According to the company, the platform handles payee onboarding and verification, tax and compliance workflows, and payout processing. The announcement says it reaches more than 220 countries, supports fiat and stablecoin payouts, and includes tax features for W-9s, W-8s, and 1099s. These are company-reported capabilities, not independently tested product results.
Why did Anchorage Digital buy Routable?
Anchorage presents the acquisition as a way to connect its institutional infrastructure for stablecoin issuance, custody, and settlement with Routable’s payout-distribution layer. Routable is described as operating between a customer’s enterprise resource planning system and payment rails. The intended proposition is for businesses to manage payout distribution and access settlement options spanning dollars, euros, stablecoins, or tokenized deposits.

Anchorage CEO and co-founder Nathan McCauley said: “These entities move billions every day, and until now, few regulated partners could provide a seamless offering across both fiat and digital assets. With Routable, Anchorage Digital has become that partner.” The reference to billions describes the entities McCauley was discussing; it is not a disclosed Routable transaction-volume figure.

The announcement says the combined company serves clients across both businesses “from day one.” It also says Routable will operate as Routable by Anchorage Digital, with integrated offerings expected over the coming quarters. Native stablecoin and tokenized-deposit settlement for Routable is described as planned. The announcement gives no exact launch date, implementation details, or evidence that every settlement option described is already available through Routable.

Routable CEO and co-founder Omri Mor said: “Joining Anchorage Digital means our clients get the same rails they rely on today, plus a regulated bridge into digital assets the moment they want it.” Routable co-founder Tom Harel said: “The companies we serve don’t think in terms of digital assets versus fiat, they think in terms of payouts that arrive. This acquisition means they never have to choose.” These statements describe the companies’ intended rationale, not a guarantee of specific availability or performance.
What did Anchorage say about Routable’s customers and growth?
The announcement names Veho, Ethos, and Polestar as Routable enterprise clients. It also says Routable grew over 100% for two consecutive years. That is a company-reported claim: no revenue base, exact accounting periods, or methodology is disclosed, so it should not be treated as an independently verified financial measure.

What should business buyers take from the deal?
The acquisition signals Anchorage’s stated intent to extend its institutional digital-asset infrastructure into enterprise payout distribution. It does not, by itself, establish that all proposed settlement features are live or that the combined service fits a particular company’s requirements. A prospective buyer would need details the announcement does not provide, including pricing, service-level commitments, technical specifications, ERP integration requirements, and which currencies and payout rails are currently available in the buyer’s markets.
