Disney is treating creators as a long-term fandom channel, not merely as a way to buy another burst of advertising. The company is giving selected personalities access to parks, events, story assets and Disney executives, while placing some creator-made videos on TikTok and, through a planned U.S. pilot, inside Disney+. The aim is to keep fans discovering, discussing and participating in Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and ESPN stories across the services they already use.
That strategy is expanding quickly: Disney says it worked with more than 6,000 creators in 2026, up 30% from 2025, and that their posts produced nearly 12 billion social-media impressions. Those figures indicate scale and intent. They do not, on their own, prove that creator activity increased loyalty, subscriptions or revenue.

Why is Disney working with influencers and creators?
Disney believes creators can translate franchise marketing into a continuing relationship because audiences often trust a fan’s interpretation more than a conventional advertisement. Asad Ayaz, Disney’s chief marketing and brand officer, described creators as offering an “authentic fan point of view” and said “the best storytellers are fans first.”
The company is therefore building an “always-on” presence around its franchises. Instead of limiting a partnership to a trailer or a launch week, Disney can invite a creator into a park, a summit or an event, provide story material, and let that person make a vlog, interview, comedy sketch or other format native to the creator’s channel. Nicole Leo, Disney’s vice president of creator content and partnerships, called creators “our best digital billboards these days,” but the operating model is broader than a billboard: the creator is also a guide, interpreter and community host.

Scale of the current program
The Los Angeles Times reported that Disney brought nearly 70 Latino creators to a three-day Somos Magic Summit at its Burbank studio lot and Disneyland Resort. Panels, performances, park experiences and previews were designed to deepen Disney’s relationship with Latino internet personalities. The attendees’ combined following exceeded 185 million, according to the report.
Disney separately reported more than 6,000 creator collaborations in 2026, a 30% year-over-year increase, and nearly 12 billion social-media impressions. Disney supplied those numbers; the available reporting does not describe an independent audit or a common method for attributing a business result to them.

Disney and TikTok are connecting creator discovery with Disney-owned viewing surfaces. In Disney’s official announcement, participating creators can use assets from hundreds of Disney films and series. Selected short-form videos will run on TikTok and in Verts, the vertical-video feed inside Disney+, beginning with a planned U.S. pilot before expansion to other markets.
Why the TikTok-to-Disney+ bridge matters
TikTok reported that its entertainment communities help people discover and share films and shows. Its cited Ipsos study of global respondents ages 18–49, conducted in June and July 2025, found that nearly half of surveyed viewers said they watched a movie or television show on a streaming service or television after discovering entertainment content on TikTok. TikTok also cited internal data showing 6.5 million film- and television-related posts per day in 2025.

Those statistics describe discovery behavior, not Disney’s incremental subscriber count. Verts could shorten the path from a fan’s social conversation to a Disney+ title, but the announcements do not establish how many viewers will continue to a full program, start a subscription or remain subscribed because of a creator video.
What is the Disney Creator Ambassador Program?
The joint Disney–TikTok Creator Ambassador Program is described as offering selected creators special rewards, greater visibility, access to exclusive events and career-development pathways. The public announcement does not publish an application process, eligibility rules or affiliate terms. Consequently, a creator should not assume that participation is paid, that access is guaranteed, or that a commission is available.

What should investors and creators watch next?
The important test is whether Disney publishes evidence beyond exposure totals. Useful measures would include qualified viewers who move from a creator post to a Disney+ title, new or retained subscribers associated with the activity, repeat park or product engagement, and results by audience community. The current announcements do not provide a shared return-on-investment methodology.
For creators, the practical questions are contractual: Is the work paid or hosted? Who owns the video and the underlying edits? Can Disney place it on Disney+ or ESPN indefinitely? Are there exclusivity limits around competing studios, sports or streaming services? What disclosure language is required? The public materials answer none of these universally, so terms must be confirmed for each program or deal.
