If Aeroplan credit card status benefits do not appear in your account, first identify the card’s issuing country, issuer and exact missing benefit. Then verify that the card is linked to your own Aeroplan number, your account is in good standing, and—when the benefit depends on a flight—the same number and matching name are on the reservation. Canadian card-linked airline benefits can take up to 72 hours to activate; flight-point claims generally require waiting at least 14 days after the trip; and some U.S. spend benefits post only after a later billing period. Contact the card issuer or Aeroplan only after the applicable window has passed.
Start by identifying the benefit that is missing
“Aeroplan card benefit” can describe several different credits. A card-linked airline privilege, a flight’s points, flight Status Qualifying Credits (SQC), and spend-based status credits follow different rules. Troubleshooting the wrong category can lead to a rejected claim or an unnecessary call.

Do not assume that Canadian TD, Canadian Amex, U.S. TD and U.S.-issued Chase cards have interchangeable benefits. The issuer and country determine the applicable terms.

Confirm the issuing country, issuer and product
Read the card name in your card account or statement and note whether it was issued in Canada or the United States. Record the exact product, such as a Canadian TD or Amex Aeroplan card, a U.S. TD Aeroplan card or the U.S.-issued Chase Aeroplan card. A benefit described on one issuer’s page may not exist on another product, even when both cards carry the Aeroplan name.

Make sure the card is linked to your own Aeroplan number
Air Canada’s Canadian card terms require the cardholder’s personal Aeroplan number for the described benefits. A spouse’s, employee’s or other traveler’s number cannot be substituted. Compare the number shown in the card issuer’s profile with the number in your Aeroplan account, including every digit. If the card was recently opened, migrated or linked for an additional cardholder, ask the issuer to confirm the number that was transmitted to Aeroplan.
Check good standing and cardholder role
The Canadian terms require the primary and eligible secondary or supplementary cardholder accounts to be in good standing. A payment problem, account restriction or closure can block an otherwise qualifying benefit. Also determine whether you are the primary cardholder. Some spend-based benefits are awarded only to the primary cardholder even when an additional cardholder’s purchases count toward the primary account’s qualifying spend.
For a flight benefit, inspect the reservation
The Aeroplan number used for the card benefit must be on the qualifying reservation. The traveler’s name must match the name on the Aeroplan account. Check the booking confirmation, e-ticket and any reissued itinerary rather than relying on a remembered number. If a travel agency or another person made the booking, ask that the reservation be corrected through the appropriate booking channel before requesting credit.

Air Canada’s Canadian card terms state: “Please allow up to 72 hours after your Aeroplan credit card is approved, or the Aeroplan number of the Secondary Cardholder is linked to the Secondary Cardholder’s credit card, for these benefits to be activated.” A status page that is blank during that window is not necessarily an error.

Spend credits can take materially longer. For the specified U.S. TD benefit, eligible net spend is deposited at the end of the next card billing period and may take up to one week after the statement date to appear. Check the closing date on the statement that contains the qualifying purchases before escalating.
Canadian TD and Amex card-linked benefits
Air Canada’s Canadian new-card-benefits terms cover TD and Amex Aeroplan products. They require your own Aeroplan number, good standing and, for an airline benefit, that number on the qualifying reservation with a matching traveler name. Activation can take up to 72 hours after approval or eligible secondary-cardholder linkage.
These benefits are not guaranteed indefinitely. The published terms say airline benefits are unavailable after the card account is closed or the card product is changed. If you recently converted, upgraded or downgraded the product, check the new product’s terms instead of treating the missing benefit as a posting delay.
What to do after 72 hours
- Take a screenshot of the Aeroplan profile showing your number and the card account showing the product and status.
- Ask the issuer to verify that the card is linked to that same number and that the account remains eligible and in good standing.
- Ask whether the benefit was sent to Aeroplan, rejected, or suppressed because of a product change, closure or secondary-cardholder rule.
- If the issuer confirms a successful transmission but Aeroplan still shows nothing, contact Aeroplan with the issuer’s confirmation and the approval or linkage date.
Missing flight points or flight SQC
Wait before filing a missing-point request
Air Canada says to wait at least 14 days after the entire trip has been completed before submitting a request for missing Aeroplan points. This waiting period applies to the flight transaction process; it does not establish a universal delay for card-spend credits.

Keep your boarding pass for up to six months. Have the boarding pass, e-ticket or booking receipt available because an airline claim may require supporting records. Make sure the itinerary shows the Aeroplan number that belongs to you and that the passenger name matches your Aeroplan profile.
When points posted but SQC did not
Points and SQC can be separate entries. If the eligible flight points have arrived but the flight SQC is missing, Air Canada directs members to contact Aeroplan at 1-800-361-5373. Tell the representative that the points posted but the eligible flight SQC did not, and provide the flight dates, ticket information and supporting documents.
Do not use this flight-claim route for every card-spend or card-linked benefit. The cited guidance specifically addresses missing transactions and eligible flight SQC.

The U.S. TD benefits terms provide a specific example of why a credit can look late. Primary cardholders earn the stated SQM/SQS from eligible net spend, but the deposit occurs at the end of the next card billing period and can take up to one week after the statement date to display. Purchases made by additional cardholders may count toward the primary cardholder’s qualifying spend under the product terms, while the additional cardholder is not separately eligible to receive that benefit.

Check the calculation before disputing it
- Identify the billing period in which the transaction posted, not merely the date you made the purchase.
- Exclude returns, credits and any categories the product terms define as ineligible net spend.
- Confirm that you are the primary cardholder receiving the benefit.
- Wait through the end of the following billing period and the additional one-week statement window.
If the credit is still absent, contact U.S. TD through the telephone number or secure message channel printed on your statement. Ask support to confirm the qualifying-spend total, the expected deposit date and whether any transaction was excluded.

Air Canada’s status information describes the U.S.-issued Chase Air Canada Aeroplan card as awarding automatic 25K status each calendar year and allowing SQC earning through spend under published thresholds. Those are U.S.-specific terms and should not be applied to Canadian cards or U.S. TD products.
The same status information says that if the card is closed, the 5,000 annual SQC deposited for the current Elite Year will be removed, and status or benefits awarded as a result may be rescinded. Before disputing a missing or reversed credit, check whether the account was closed, converted or otherwise became ineligible.

The page says that benefit ends going forward under the new structure. Because annual thresholds and transition provisions change, verify the current status page and your card’s current terms before relying on an older benefit description.

Escalate with a complete record
Contact the card issuer for card-side questions
Use the number or secure account channel shown on your card statement for questions about approval, linkage, good standing, product eligibility, qualifying spend, closure or conversion. The issuer controls those card records and can tell you whether a benefit file was transmitted to Aeroplan.
Contact Aeroplan for program-side flight issues
Use Aeroplan’s missing-transactions process for flight points after the 14-day waiting period. For eligible flight SQC that has not posted despite the flight points arriving, call 1-800-361-5373. Keep the itinerary and boarding pass available while the claim is reviewed.
Use this concise support script
“I hold the [issuer and card product]. I expected [specific benefit] on [date or after the qualifying activity]. My Aeroplan number is [number], the card is linked to it, and my account is in good standing. The relevant published posting window has passed. Can you confirm the card-to-Aeroplan linkage, my eligibility, and whether the benefit was issued or rejected?”

For a flight SQC call, add the flight number or dates, ticket number, booking reference and the date the flight points posted. For a spend benefit, provide the statement closing date and the qualifying transaction totals.
Common failure patterns and the right fix
- Wrong Aeroplan number: Ask the issuer to replace the linked number with your own personal number, then allow the stated activation period.
- Name mismatch: Correct the reservation or Aeroplan profile through the responsible channel before filing a flight claim.
- Additional-cardholder assumption: Confirm whether the benefit belongs only to the primary cardholder; do not expect a separate credit for an authorized user unless the terms provide one.
- Escalating too early: Compare the approval, linkage, trip-completion or statement date with the applicable 72-hour, 14-day, billing-period or one-week window.
- Product change or closure: Review the new product’s terms. Some airline benefits end and some previously deposited credits can be removed.
- Using a flight claim for a spend credit: Send card-spend disputes to the issuer and flight-credit disputes to Aeroplan.
Prevent future missing-benefit problems
- Save the card’s current benefit terms when you apply or change products.
- Record the Aeroplan number linked to the card and check it after an approval, product conversion or secondary-cardholder addition.
- Keep itineraries, e-tickets, boarding passes and card statements until all expected points and credits have posted; retain boarding passes for up to six months for possible airline claims.
- Track statement closing dates for spend-based benefits rather than counting from the purchase date.
- Before closing or changing a card, ask what happens to pending benefits, annual status deposits and credits already awarded.
What to expect from support
There is no single Aeroplan posting timeline or universal issuer escalation number for every card and benefit. Support can only apply the terms for the particular product, country, cardholder role and qualifying activity. Give the representative dates and documents, ask whether the credit was issued or rejected, and request the exact reason and next step if it was rejected.
The Bottom Line
Match the problem to the right rule: verify your own Aeroplan number and reservation details, allow the published activation or billing window, then send card-side issues to the issuer and flight points or flight SQC issues to Aeroplan. Card closure or a product change can end benefits or reverse credits, so check the current product terms before escalating.
