So it would be inaccurate to say, “A Blue Origin ticket costs $150,000.” The more precise description is: Blue Origin currently requires acknowledgment of a $150,000 refundable deposit, while the final fare remains undisclosed.

Is New Shepard currently flying passengers?
Not on the normal schedule previously associated with the program. On January 30, 2026, Blue Origin announced that it would pause New Shepard flights for at least two years while shifting resources toward its human lunar program. The company said New Shepard had completed 38 flights and carried 98 people above the Kármán line at that point.
The reservation form remains available, but its continued availability does not mean a flight can be booked for a confirmed date. An applicant should treat the form as an expression of interest or the start of an order process—not as an immediately available airline-style purchase.
What does the fare cover?
Blue Origin describes New Shepard as a reusable suborbital rocket and crew capsule. Passengers travel above the Kármán line, approximately 62 miles (100 kilometers) above Earth, experience several minutes of weightlessness, and return under parachutes.

The published passenger experience includes:
- A seat in a six-person pressurized, climate-controlled capsule
- An individual window seat
- Several minutes of weightlessness

Blue Origin’s public pages do not state whether a future ticket price would include accommodation, transportation, taxes, insurance, training-related costs, or optional services. Until the company publishes those terms, prospective buyers should not assume they are included in the undisclosed fare.
How to apply for a Blue Origin seat
The application route is Blue Origin → New Shepard → Book Your Flight. The resulting page is titled “Reserve a Seat” and displays the heading “Book Your Flight.”
- Open Blue Origin’s New Shepard reservation page.
- Provide the requested personal information, including your country and month and year of birth.
- Answer how you heard about Blue Origin.
- Submit a description of yourself of no more than 500 characters.
- Review the deposit language carefully before submitting the form.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The form’s age requirement is tied to federal regulation. Submitting the information does not itself secure a flight or establish a confirmed departure date.

The $150,000 figure
This is the current refundable deposit amount stated on the reservation form. It is not a published final fare, and the form says it is not charged when the form is submitted.
The $28 million figure
The first New Shepard passenger seat was sold through a special auction in 2021. Its winning bid was not a standard public ticket price and should not be used as the normal cost of a Blue Origin seat.

The $200,000 to $300,000 estimate
That range has appeared in reporting and industry estimates, but Blue Origin has not publicly confirmed it as the current fare. It should be treated as an unconfirmed estimate rather than a price a buyer can rely on when planning their finances.
