What Does Facet Cost in 2026, and What Financial Planning Services Are Included?

Facet generally charges $2,600 to $10,000 per year for its Core, Plus, and Complete memberships, according to its October 2026 Client Relationship Summary (CRS). The exact subscription price is set from the services you need and is shown before you enroll. Facet bills quarterly or annually in advance; quarterly billing carries a $300 enrollment fee. The membership is a flat planning subscription rather than a percentage of assets managed.

Investment management is included without an additional Facet management fee. You may still pay fees charged by custodians or other providers, and optional direct indexing can add a sub-adviser fee of up to 0.15%. The planning engagement can cover investments, retirement, taxes, insurance, debt, education funding, employee benefits, estate-planning coordination, and more, but your agreement determines which services apply.

Facet’s current price range

Facet’s October 2026 CRS lists a general annual range of $2,600 to $10,000 for its Core, Plus, and Complete memberships. This is a range, not a menu price that every client pays. Facet evaluates your financial situation and service requirements, then presents an individual price before enrollment.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The fee is a flat annual subscription. It is not calculated as a percentage of the assets Facet manages, so the price does not automatically rise merely because your portfolio grows. The amount can vary with the breadth and complexity of the planning work you need.

What the published range does—and does not—tell you

  • The $2,600 figure is the lower end of Facet’s current general range, not a guaranteed entry price for every prospect.
  • The $10,000 figure is the upper end of the same disclosed range and may apply when a household needs substantially broader or more complex support.
  • Facet gives you the specific annual price before you join, so ask for the fee in writing with the proposed scope of work.
  • Prices and promotions can change; the member offer and agreement control your actual obligation.

Why older pages may show $900

Facet’s Q4 2025 Form ADV brochure said planning fees generally ranged from $900 to $10,000 annually. The October 2026 CRS is newer and identifies an October 2026 update to the fee range, so the $900 lower bound should not be treated as the current headline price. The older brochure remains useful for describing the service menu and fee mechanics, but it predates the current CRS range.

How billing works

Annual or quarterly payment

The current CRS says Facet typically bills either annually or quarterly in advance. Annual billing avoids the separate quarterly enrollment fee described in the CRS. Quarterly billing carries a $300 enrollment fee; confirm whether that fee applies to your chosen arrangement and whether any promotion changes the amount.

Because the price is quoted for your membership, compare the total amount due over a full year rather than looking only at a quarterly installment. Request a statement showing the subscription price, billing frequency, enrollment fee, taxes or other charges, and the services included.

Annual, non-refundable memberships

Facet states that all memberships are annual and non-refundable. If you cancel, you remain responsible for outstanding balances, and access to services continues through the remainder of the membership term under the company’s stated policy. Read the agreement’s cancellation language before paying, particularly if you are considering quarterly installments as a way to test the relationship.

What is included in the membership?

Facet describes its service as an ongoing financial-planning engagement with CFP® professionals and other financial experts. Its Form ADV and public planning descriptions list a broad set of possible planning areas. The list is not a promise that every member receives every service; your needs assessment and agreement determine the actual scope.

Investment management and portfolio design

Investment management is included in the membership without an additional Facet management fee. Planning can include establishing goals, designing a portfolio, selecting an investment approach, implementing recommendations, and monitoring the strategy. Assets are generally held at a custodian, and that custodian can impose transaction, account-processing, or other account-level charges.

Some service levels may offer direct indexing. The October 2026 CRS says an optional direct-indexing arrangement can carry a sub-adviser fee of up to 0.15%. That is separate from Facet’s membership price, so ask whether direct indexing is recommended, whether it is optional for your account, and what the exact sub-adviser charge would be.

Cash flow, spending, and debt

Planning can address cash flow and expenses, including how much you can safely spend, how to organize savings, and how to prioritize competing goals. Debt advice may include evaluating interest costs, deciding whether to pay down debt or invest, and fitting loan repayment into a broader plan. The appropriate recommendation depends on your rates, liquidity, risk tolerance, and other obligations.

Retirement planning

Retirement work can examine when you may be able to stop working, how much income your portfolio and other resources could provide, and how saving and withdrawals affect the plan. Facet’s own reader-facing examples include questions such as whether you will run out of money in retirement and when you can actually retire. Your plan may also consider account types, employer benefits, Social Security or other income sources, taxes, and spending assumptions when those details are relevant.

Employee benefits and employer stock

Facet’s listed planning scope includes employee benefits and employer stock plans. Plus is described as adding personalized equity-compensation support and a dedicated expert team. This area can involve restricted stock, stock options, purchase plans, vesting schedules, concentration risk, and tax withholding, but the exact analysis depends on the benefits your employer provides and the terms of your engagement.

Education funding

Education planning can help you evaluate whether your children’s college savings are on track and how education goals interact with retirement, cash reserves, and debt repayment. The recommendations depend on the child’s timeline, expected contribution, account types, and assumptions about future costs; Facet does not guarantee an investment return or a specific education outcome.

Risk management and insurance

The service menu includes risk management and insurance planning. That can mean identifying the financial effect of death, disability, long-term care, liability, or property risks and assessing whether existing coverage fits those exposures. The engagement does not mean every policy is replaced or that insurance is purchased through Facet; ask which analysis is included and whether an outside insurance professional would be involved.

Income-tax planning

Income-tax planning is among the possible services. Depending on your situation and tier, planning may examine the tax effect of investment sales, retirement contributions and withdrawals, equity compensation, charitable giving, or other decisions. Tax planning is not the same as preparing and filing a tax return. Confirm whether return preparation is outside the membership and whether a separate tax professional is required.

Beneficiaries and estate-planning coordination

Facet can help coordinate beneficiary designations and estate-planning decisions as part of a broader financial plan. Facet’s brochure says it does not act as your attorney or prepare estate-planning documents. Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other legal documents may require a third-party attorney and can create additional costs.

Existing small-business retirement plans

The Form ADV service list includes advice on existing small-business retirement plans. The work may involve fitting a business plan into the owner’s personal retirement strategy or reviewing how contributions and investment choices support employee and owner objectives. Ask whether plan-level implementation, administration, or legal work is included; the published service list alone does not establish that those tasks are part of every membership.

How the three membership tiers differ

Facet publicly characterizes Core, Plus, and Complete as progressively broader support levels. The descriptions below are directional; your signed agreement is the authoritative list of services and access.

A higher tier is not automatically better. Choose the level that matches the decisions you need help making. Someone with straightforward saving and retirement questions may not need the additional access described for Complete, while a household with complex equity compensation or advanced tax issues may value Plus or Complete.

Costs that can sit outside the Facet fee

  • Custodian charges: The institution holding your investments may charge transaction, account-processing, wire, or other account fees.
  • Direct-indexing sub-adviser fee: If you elect an eligible direct-indexing service, the CRS says the sub-adviser fee can be up to 0.15%.
  • Tax preparation: Planning does not establish that Facet will prepare or file your tax return. A tax-filing provider may charge separately.
  • Estate documents: Facet does not draft legal documents. An attorney or other third party may charge for wills, trusts, powers of attorney, or related work.
  • Other professional services: Insurance, legal, accounting, or business-plan work performed by outside providers can carry its own fee.

Ask for a complete estimate of recurring and one-time third-party costs. A “no additional Facet management fee” statement applies to Facet’s investment-management charge; it does not eliminate charges imposed by other providers.

Questions to answer before enrolling

  1. What is my exact annual price? Have Facet state the amount, the date it applies, and whether it includes any promotion.
  2. Which tier and services are in my agreement? Match the proposed scope to your priorities: retirement, taxes, equity compensation, education, insurance, debt, or estate coordination.
  3. How will I be billed? Confirm annual versus quarterly billing, the $300 quarterly enrollment fee, payment dates, and what happens if a payment is late.
  4. What happens if I cancel? Review the annual, non-refundable policy, outstanding-balance language, and the date service access ends.
  5. Are investments held at a separate custodian? Request the custodian’s fee schedule and ask about transaction or account-processing charges.
  6. Will direct indexing be used? If so, ask for the exact sub-adviser fee and the reason it is suitable for your portfolio.
  7. Who handles legal and tax filing work? Identify any attorney, accountant, or filing provider you would need to hire separately.
  8. How much access do I receive? Confirm your primary CFP® professional or team, meeting cadence, communication channels, response expectations, and any extended-hours access attached to the tier.

Is Facet’s flat subscription a good value for you?

Compare the full annual cost with the complexity and frequency of the decisions you expect to make. A flat fee can be easier to budget than an asset-based fee because it is not automatically tied to portfolio size, but it can still be expensive if you need only occasional, narrow advice. Conversely, a household coordinating investments, taxes, employer stock, insurance, retirement income, and estate-related decisions may use more of the service.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a meaningful comparison with another planner, put the offers on the same basis: annual total cost, billing and cancellation terms, whether investment management is included, access to a dedicated CFP® professional, meeting and support limits, equity-compensation and tax capabilities, and every separate custodian or third-party charge. Do not compare a low headline fee with Facet’s range unless the services and access are genuinely equivalent.

Bottom line

As of October 2026, Facet discloses a general price range of $2,600 to $10,000 per year for Core, Plus, and Complete memberships, with an individualized quote before enrollment. Quarterly billing adds a $300 enrollment fee, and memberships are annual and non-refundable. The subscription can include investment management and broad planning across cash flow, debt, retirement, education, benefits, insurance, taxes, beneficiaries, estate coordination, and small-business retirement plans. Custodian charges, optional direct-indexing fees of up to 0.15%, tax filing, and legal documents can cost extra, so the agreement and a written fee breakdown matter more than the range alone.
