Inyo Global is the first production enabler, allowing eligible money transmitters, fintechs, banks and payment companies to prefund cross-border Visa Direct payouts with USDC in near real time, around the clock, instead of relying only on traditional funding windows.
What Visa’s USDC prefunding launch changes
The change is on the funding side of a payout. A qualifying business sends USDC to make liquidity available for its Visa Direct payout activity. The business is still using Visa Direct to move money to the intended destination; USDC is the asset used to prefund that activity.

Visa describes this as a commercial deployment rather than another limited pilot. Access is not universal: availability depends on the customer’s eligibility, geography and applicable compliance requirements. The October 15 announcement does not publish a complete country list, launch fees or transaction volumes for the Inyo implementation.

Traditional cross-border payout operations can depend on scheduled funding windows and the movement of fiat liquidity between institutions. USDC prefunding is intended to make funding more dynamic, with near-real-time availability at any hour. That can matter to businesses managing liquidity across time zones, weekends and holidays, although Visa has not published a quantified speed or cost improvement for this launch.

How the Inyo Global integration works
Inyo Global is a payments infrastructure provider for money transmitters, fintechs, banks and other payment businesses. Visa says Inyo offers a single connection for onboarding users, managing fraud and compliance, accepting payments, and sending domestic and international payouts through Visa Direct.
- Connect through Inyo. An eligible business uses Inyo’s platform and APIs rather than building a separate Visa Direct integration for the prefunding feature.
- Complete onboarding and controls. Inyo’s connection includes customer onboarding, fraud and compliance functions. Eligibility and geographic availability still apply.
- Send USDC for prefunding. The business transfers USDC to make funds available for its Visa Direct payout activity. Visa characterizes the availability as near real time and around the clock.
- Send payouts through the existing workflow. The business continues to use the Inyo APIs and Visa Direct connectivity for domestic or international payouts.
Inyo says the stablecoin-enabled prefunding runs through the same APIs its clients already use. That means the announced change is primarily a treasury and liquidity option, not a replacement for the payout interface.
Prefunding is different from paying recipients in stablecoins
Visa has discussed two separate stablecoin applications, and they should not be conflated.

In the recipient-payout pilot, the business funded Visa Direct payouts in fiat while an eligible recipient could choose to receive a USD-backed stablecoin such as USDC. In the Inyo production launch, the recipient does not have to receive USDC; the business uses USDC before the payout is sent.
Who may be able to use it
The intended customer groups are money transmitters, fintechs, banks and payment businesses that use, or qualify to use, Visa Direct through an enabled partner. The announcement does not establish automatic access for every company in those categories. A prospective user would need to meet Inyo and Visa onboarding, fraud, compliance, geographic and other eligibility conditions.
Visa says Inyo’s Visa Direct connection supports payouts across more than 180 countries. That is the stated reach of the connection, not a promise that USDC prefunding is available in all of those countries. Country-by-country availability and permitted use cases can differ.

What Visa says the broader stablecoin strategy is
Visa’s September 2025 pilot announcement presented stablecoin prefunding as an alternative to fiat prefunding. It said the goal was to reduce friction, provide faster access to liquidity and give banks, remitters and financial institutions more flexibility in managing global payouts. Visa framed stablecoins as a way to modernize treasury operations and make funding more dynamic.

The move into production signals that Visa considers at least one partner implementation ready for live commercial use. Vira Platonova, Visa’s Global Head of Visa Direct, described the shift this way:
“The next chapter for stablecoins is adoption.”

She also said Visa’s work with partners and clients was now translating into live implementations, starting with Inyo Global as its first enabler. Inyo co-founder and Chief Product and Technology Officer Robson Dantas said the integration gives the money transmitters, fintechs and payment companies it serves a way to fund payouts around the clock through the same Inyo APIs.

These figures describe Visa’s wider infrastructure and stablecoin activity. They should not be read as Inyo-specific transaction counts, customer numbers or USDC prefunding volume.
What businesses should verify before adopting it
- Eligibility: Confirm that the business type, licensing, compliance profile and intended corridors qualify for the service.
- Geographic coverage: Ask which origin and destination countries support the specific USDC prefunding workflow; the more-than-180-country connection figure is not a universal USDC availability list.
- Settlement and conversion terms: Obtain the applicable fees, exchange or conversion mechanics, limits and settlement rules directly from the enabled provider. Visa’s launch announcement does not publish them.
- Operational controls: Review wallet, custody, reconciliation, fraud, sanctions and compliance responsibilities before moving treasury funding to USDC.
- Liquidity policy: Decide how much payout liquidity should be held in USDC and how the business will manage volatility, transfer timing or access restrictions under its own risk policy.
What has not been disclosed
Visa and Inyo have announced the capability and its commercial status, but the public announcement does not provide launch pricing, transaction-volume data for Inyo, a complete country-by-country availability list or a public affiliate and referral program. Those details should be treated as commercial terms to confirm with the relevant provider, not inferred from the production announcement.
