MAR10 Day 2026 is over. Nintendo’s digital promotion ended March 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT, while participating physical retailers ran offers through March 14, subject to availability. The prices below are historical deals observed during the March event—not guaranteed prices today.
The strongest values were Super Mario Odyssey at about $39.99, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury at roughly $29.99–$39.99, and several first-party games at approximately $29.99. Physical copies sometimes undercut Nintendo’s digital pricing, but format, seller, stock, and edition mattered.

The best Mario Day deals for the original Nintendo Switch
Best overall: Super Mario Odyssey at about $39.99
Super Mario Odyssey was one of the safest recommendations at roughly $20 below its usual $59.99 price. Its large single-player campaign, exploration, varied worlds, and replayable challenges give it broader appeal than a game chosen solely because it had the lowest price.
It was not necessarily the cheapest Mario deal. The reason to choose it is scope: it works particularly well as a one-game gift for someone who wants a substantial, polished Mario adventure.
Recommended Free Tools
Buy it if: you want a mainline 3D Mario game with exploration and a long single-player experience.
Best multiplayer platformer: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
This package combines two different experiences. Super Mario 3D World is structured, level-based platforming designed especially well for local multiplayer. Bowser’s Fury is more open-ended and exploratory, with a different progression style.
Reported prices ranged from approximately $29.99 to $39.99, depending on the retailer and listing. At $29.99, it was among the strongest discounts in the group; at $39.99, it was still a strong value for buyers who will use both parts.
Rank #2
- 6.2” LCD screen
- Three play modes: TV, tabletop, and handheld
- Local co-op, online, and local wireless multiplayer
- Detachable Joy-Con controllers
- Nintendo Switch is the home of Mario & friends
Buy it if: you want local multiplayer platforming or a package with more variety than a single campaign.
Best RPG discount: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door at $29.99
The reported $29.99 price was about half the listed $59.99 price. This remake is a particularly attractive deal for readers who enjoy turn-based combat, exploration, humor, and dialogue-heavy role-playing games.
It is not automatically the best choice for someone seeking traditional jumping and platforming. Also check whether a specific listing is a new physical copy, a digital code, or a marketplace offer before buying.
Buy it if: you want a story-focused Mario RPG and are comfortable with turn-based battles.
Best co-op adventure: Luigi’s Mansion 3 at about $39.88
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is not a conventional Mario platformer. It is a puzzle-and-adventure game built around exploring a hotel, solving environmental problems, and capturing ghosts. Its solo campaign and cooperative options make it one of the more flexible choices in the list.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe observed price of about $39.88 represented a meaningful discount from $59.99, particularly for buyers who prefer slower problem-solving and atmosphere over constant platforming.

- Play your way with the Nintendo Switch gaming system. Whether you’re at home or on the go, solo or with friends, the Nintendo Switch system is designed to fit your life. Dock your Nintendo Switch to enjoy HD gaming on your TV. Heading out? Just undock your console and keep playing in handheld mode
- This model includes battery life of approximately 4.5 - 9 hours.
- The battery life will depend on the games you play. For instance, the battery will last approximately 5.5 hours for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (games sold separately)
- Model number HAC 001( 01)
Best party game: Super Mario Party Jamboree at about $39.99
Super Mario Party Jamboree made more sense at around $39.99 than at full price for households that regularly play together. Its value depends heavily on having friends or family available for local multiplayer; it is not equally compelling as a solo purchase.
Before buying, confirm the number of controllers required for the modes you intend to play. A discounted game can still become an expensive group purchase if you need additional controllers.
Best smaller-scale puzzle game: Mario vs. Donkey Kong at $29.99
The reported $29.99 price compared with a $49.99 list price. This is a puzzle-platformer rather than a replacement for Super Mario Odyssey or Super Mario 3D World. Its appeal is in solving compact challenges and planning moves carefully.

A retailer-sold code is not the same transaction as buying directly from Nintendo.
Worth considering: Mario & Luigi: Brothership at about $29.99
At roughly half its $59.99 list price, Mario & Luigi: Brothership was a good price for fans of Mario role-playing games. The recommendation is more taste-dependent than the Odyssey or 3D World deals: buyers should want its RPG structure and character-driven presentation rather than simply choosing it because the discount percentage was high.
Best deal by type of player
- Single-player adventure: Super Mario Odyssey.
- Multiplayer platforming: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
- Role-playing game: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door at $29.99.
- Party game: Super Mario Party Jamboree.
- Puzzle game: Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
- Co-op adventure: Luigi’s Mansion 3.
- Best budget target: A legitimate new first-party game at $29.99, provided it is a game you already want.
The cheapest option is not automatically the best value. A $39.99 game you will play for dozens of hours can be a better purchase than a $29.99 game that does not match your interests.

Switch 2 editions: do not buy the wrong version
Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV was reported at about $59, down from $79.99 in one listing. This is a separate Switch 2 edition, not simply another name for the original Switch release.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park was scheduled for March 26, 2026. It should be treated separately from the core MAR10 Day discounts and is not a standard-Switch deal.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Physical versus digital: which was the better deal?
Why physical copies often won on price
Retailers sometimes discounted physical first-party games more aggressively than Nintendo’s eShop. During MAR10 Day, that meant a physical copy could appear at $29.99 while an eShop listing was closer to $39.99 or remained at a different price.
Physical games can also be resold, lent, or bought used later. The trade-offs are that stock can disappear, prices vary by location, and you must swap cartridges.

Digital purchases offered immediate download, no cartridge to lose, and convenient access for Switch Lite owners. They are associated with the purchasing Nintendo Account and remain subject to Nintendo’s account and licensing rules. Digital games also use console or microSD storage.
Best Value
- One player can use a Joy-Con in each hand
- Two players can each take one
- Multiple Joy-Con can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options (additional Joy-Con sold separately)
- Slip a set of Joy-Con into a Joy-Con grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
A retailer-sold digital code is a separate category from a direct eShop purchase. Check the code’s region, seller, redemption instructions, and refund policy.
A practical rule
Prefer physical when the new copy is at least $10 cheaper than the comparable eShop price and you value resale or lending. Prefer digital when convenience matters more than resale and the price difference is small.
What MAR10 Day included beyond game discounts
Nintendo’s 2026 announcement also covered additions for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members, including Mario vs. Donkey Kong for Game Boy Advance, plus Mario Clash and Mario’s Tennis for Virtual Boy.
These were subscription-based classic-game additions, not permanent ownership of standalone Switch purchases. Virtual Boy titles also require the relevant Nintendo Switch Online access and compatible Virtual Boy functionality. Membership is separate from buying an ordinary retail game; see Nintendo’s official Expansion Pack information for current terms.
Are the Mario Day prices still live?
No. The official 2026 event windows have passed. Nintendo’s digital promotion ran through March 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT, while participating physical retailers ran offers through March 14, while supplies lasted.
A retailer may independently repeat a markdown, but that is a new offer rather than a continuation of MAR10 Day. Before purchasing, check the current price, stock, seller, condition, format, shipping cost, and exact Switch or Switch 2 edition on the Nintendo Store or the retailer’s current product page.
Do not describe an expired March price as an active deal. The safest current wording is “check price” unless the listing has been verified recently.

Quick Recap
What to check before you buy
- Confirm the format: new physical copy, used copy, direct eShop purchase, or digital code.
- Confirm the seller: especially on marketplace listings.
- Confirm the edition: standard Switch release versus Switch 2 Edition.
- Check region restrictions: particularly for digital codes.
- Check stock and shipping: a low displayed price may not be available or may require extra fees.
