The 200 Best Cyber Monday Tech Deals of 2024: What Was Worth Buying

These deals are historical, not available right now. The original PCMag roundup, syndicated by Yahoo on December 2, 2024, listed more than 200 technology discounts during Cyber Weekend. Cyber Monday 2026 will take place on November 30, so this page should be treated as an archive—not a current shopping list.

For shoppers preparing for the next sale, the useful lesson is how to evaluate the deal: verify the exact configuration, compare the price with recent selling prices rather than only MSRP, check the retailer and return policy, and confirm the final total at checkout.

What the 2024 roundup included

The commerce-focused guide covered laptops, tablets, phones and wearables, earbuds and headphones, monitors, streaming devices, gaming hardware and software, smart-home products, storage, and accessories. PCMag said its commerce team selected the deals and used its product reviews and Editors’ Choice designations as part of the editorial process. Affiliate links could generate commissions.

That distinction matters: a product may have been well reviewed, but the discount still needed separate scrutiny. A large percentage reduction from an inflated list price does not automatically make a purchase worthwhile.

Notable historical examples

Apple MacBook Air M2, 13.6-inch, 256GB $749, versus $999 The base storage is limited; compare it with newer MacBook Air generations and larger-storage configurations.
Microsoft Surface Laptop, Snapdragon X Elite, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD $1,179.99, versus $1,599.99 Check application compatibility and confirm that the ARM-based Windows configuration suits your software.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C charging case $169.99, versus $249 Make sure the listing is new, sold by a reputable retailer, and includes the USB-C case.
Meta Quest 3S, 256GB, with $30 digital credit $399 with code QUEST30 Bundle value depends on whether you want the included credit; check code restrictions and headset storage.
Apple Watch Series 10 GPS $349, versus $399 Separate unconditional savings from trade-in or cellular-plan promotions.
Samsung Odyssey G93SC, 49-inch OLED monitor $949.99, versus $1,599.99 Confirm desk space, connection requirements, warranty, and whether your computer can drive the display.
Roku Express 4K+ $24, versus $39.99 Check the included remote, streaming-service compatibility, and whether a newer Roku model is similarly priced.
Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds $228, versus $299.99 Compare against typical sale prices and verify the seller, warranty, and return terms.
SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless $269.99, versus $349.99 Check platform compatibility, included wireless equipment, and whether you need the premium features.

These examples illustrate the original article’s format. They are not current recommendations, and the archived prices should not be used as proof of today’s pricing or of an all-time low.

How to judge a Cyber Monday tech deal

1. Identify the exact item

“MacBook Air,” “Galaxy tablet,” or “OLED monitor” is not enough. Record the model number and configuration, including processor or chip, RAM, storage, screen size and resolution, refresh rate, graphics processor, cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity, and included accessories. A cheaper configuration can have substantially less memory or storage.

2. Compare with a meaningful reference price

Use recent selling prices when possible. Retailer MSRP or “was” pricing can exaggerate the apparent savings. A deal may be:

  • a verified or near-record price;
  • a genuinely strong discount from a stable recent price;
  • a normal sale price for a product that frequently receives discounts;
  • a modest reduction on an expensive premium product; or
  • clearance pricing on an older generation.

Only the first categories are likely to justify buying immediately. A 50% reduction from MSRP is not persuasive if the product regularly sells for close to the sale price.

3. Calculate the real cost

Include sales tax, shipping, required memberships, coupon conditions, accessories, subscriptions, replacement consumables, and memory or storage upgrades. A bundle is valuable only if you would have bought the included credit, game, case, or subscription anyway.

4. Check longevity

For computers and mobile devices, consider operating-system and security support, battery replacement options, repairability, ports, upgradeability, and current application compatibility. An older device can be a good bargain when support and performance remain adequate, but a small discount may not compensate for an aging battery or a newer model’s important improvements.

5. Check seller, condition, and warranty

Prefer the manufacturer or a direct retailer when the price difference is small. Marketplace listings require additional scrutiny: confirm the seller identity, condition, warranty provider, and return process. New, refurbished, renewed, and open-box products are different categories and should never be treated as interchangeable.

Common Cyber Monday traps

  • Coupon failure: Codes may be limited to certain colors or configurations, new customers, apps, or one redemption per account. Check that the discount appears before payment.
  • Trade-in headlines: Advertised maximum credits depend on model, storage, condition, carrier, and inspection. Treat trade-in value separately from an unconditional discount.
  • Older hardware: A previous generation may be worthwhile only when the discount is large enough and support remains adequate.
  • Gaming restrictions: Check physical versus digital format, platform, region, edition, launcher, DLC, season pass, and online-play requirements.
  • Storage specifications: For SSDs and memory cards, verify capacity, interface, speed, warranty, and compatibility with the intended camera, console, computer, or drone.
  • Checkout mismatches: Confirm the model, color, storage, seller, coupon, shipping, tax, delivery date, and final total. Save the order confirmation or a screenshot.

How a live 2026 version should be handled

When Cyber Monday 2026 arrives, a reliable roundup should show the retailer, exact model and configuration, current price, comparison price, coupon or membership requirement, stock status, deal end time when stated, and a last-checked timestamp in U.S. Eastern Time. Offers that cannot be verified should be removed rather than presented as live.

Useful buyer categories include best overall laptop, budget Windows laptop, Mac laptop, 2-in-1, gaming laptop, monitor, tablet, earbuds, over-ear headphones, TV, streaming player, gaming accessory, smart-home device, storage product, and gifts under $25, $50, $100, and $250. Each recommendation should also explain who should buy it, the principal compromise, and at least one credible alternative.

Use direct retailer or manufacturer destinations such as Best Buy’s deals page, Amazon Electronics, Walmart Electronics, or the relevant Apple, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, or Sony page. Match the retailer listing to the editorial entry exactly.

Cyber Monday buying checklist

  1. Check the model number and complete configuration.
  2. Confirm whether the product is new, refurbished, renewed, or open-box.
  3. Verify the seller, warranty, return window, restocking fee, and marketplace terms.
  4. Test the coupon and membership requirements in the cart.
  5. Compare the price with recent selling prices, not only MSRP.
  6. Review shipping, tax, delivery date, and the final checkout total.
  7. Keep the order confirmation in case the price, configuration, or seller differs from the listing.

Bottom line

The original roundup was a broad snapshot of Cyber Monday 2024, not a source of live bargains in 2026. Its archived examples show why a good deal requires more than a large “save” figure: the product must be current enough, correctly configured, sold under acceptable terms, and priced competitively against its recent market history. Wait for a dated, verified 2026 update before treating any Cyber Monday offer as available now.
