The July 8–11, 2025 event included 29 Amazon channel add-ons; the coverage below highlights 12 streaming channels plus the Prime membership that provides access to Prime Video. The “regular price” figures are the comparison prices reported in the 2025 article, not verified 2026 prices.

Those prices came from the July 11, 2025 deal report. A $0.99 offer cost $1.98 before tax for two months; if it then ran for 10 more months at the listed comparison price, the first-year total would range from $41.98 for MovieSphere Plus to $121.98 for Paramount+. Apple TV+ would total $98 on the same assumption. These are illustrations, not current quotes.

Which historical offer fit which viewer?
Best broad catalog: Paramount+
At the historical price, Paramount+ had the widest general-interest positioning among the list. It made more sense than stacking several niche channels, provided its catalog matched what you watch.
Best for prestige originals: Apple TV+
The $4-for-two-months offer was not the cheapest, but it targeted viewers who wanted Apple’s originals rather than a large back catalog. The catalog is narrower than a broad aggregator, so subscribe for specific shows, not the headline discount alone.
Best for anime: Crunchyroll
Crunchyroll was the clearest specialist choice for anime fans. It was a poor value for someone who rarely watches anime, even at $0.99.

Best for British television: BritBox or Acorn TV
BritBox emphasized British television and mysteries; Acorn TV leaned toward British and international dramas, comedies and mysteries. Choose one based on the catalog you actually intend to watch rather than subscribing to both automatically.
Best for comfort viewing: Hallmark+
Hallmark+ was aimed at viewers who regularly watch Hallmark movies and related feel-good programming. It is unlikely to justify renewal for anyone outside that audience.
Best for movies and genre programming
MGM+ suited premium movies and scripted entertainment; AMC+ suited AMC and genre fans; Cinemax targeted action and movie programming; STARZ combined originals with a rotating movie catalog; MovieSphere Plus was the most explicitly movie-focused option.

Best audience-specific choice: BET+
BET+ focused on Black-led entertainment, including originals, films, documentaries and comedy. Its value depended heavily on whether that programming was already part of your viewing routine.

A Prime Video Channel subscription is billed through Amazon and is watched inside the Prime Video ecosystem. It is not automatically identical to a subscription bought from the provider. Depending on the service, an Amazon-billed plan may have different device support, downloads, premium formats, live features, free-trial rules or app access. It may also not provide a separate login for the provider’s standalone app.
Before paying, compare the Amazon listing with the provider’s official site, such as Prime Video, MGM+ or Paramount+. Check whether your television or streaming device supports the channel and whether your existing cable, mobile, credit-card or bundle benefits already include the same service.

How the discount could become an expensive renewal
The promotional price was temporary. A $0.99 subscription could become a $6, $8, $10, $11 or $12 monthly charge after the two discounted months, depending on the channel. The 2025 report did not establish a universal eligibility rule for new, former or active subscribers, so an account might not qualify even if the storefront displayed a deal.
To avoid an unwanted charge, use Amazon’s current subscription-management page and:
- Open Prime Video subscriptions or channel management.
- Select the channel and locate the promotional end date and renewal price.
- Decide whether the catalog justifies the full monthly rate.
- Cancel before the next billing date if you do not plan to continue.
- Save Amazon’s confirmation and recheck the account near the billing date.
Menu labels and whether access continues through the paid period can change, so follow the cancellation confirmation shown on your account. Do not assume canceling a direct subscription cancels an Amazon Channel subscription, or vice versa.

A practical value test
- Watchability: Identify at least two or three titles or genres you will watch during the two-month window.
- Duplication: Check Max, live-TV packages, carrier bundles, library benefits and other services first.
- Renewal: Write down the full monthly price and set a reminder before the promotion ends.
- Features: Confirm subtitles, dubbing, 4K, HDR, simultaneous streams and downloads for the Amazon version you are considering.
- Region: These offers were aimed at U.S. Prime members; prices, catalogs and eligibility differ elsewhere.
If you cannot name what you will watch or when you will cancel, the lowest introductory price is not necessarily a bargain.
