Spain’s financial regulator, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), warned about FXGIM Global Investment Markets on 15 October 2018. The warning identified fxgim.com/es/ and said the entity was not authorised to provide specified investment and auxiliary services in Spain.
The entry remains in the CNMV’s public database under No autorizadas (“Unauthorised”). That does not make this a new 2026 warning, and the notice itself does not establish that FXGIM committed fraud or that all customers lost money. It establishes an authorisation problem that prospective or existing customers should take seriously.
What the CNMV warning says
The CNMV’s notice names the entity as “FXGIM Global Investment Markets”. It does not identify an operating company called “FXGIM Global Investment Markets Ltd.” That suffix should not be added unless supported by a separate corporate record.
In the 15 October 2018 notice, the CNMV said FXGIM was not authorised to provide the investment services covered by Article 140 of Spain’s Securities Market Law, or the auxiliary services listed in Article 141(a), (b), (d), (f) and (g). The warning specifically included investment advice and transactions involving foreign currencies.

The notice was issued under Article 17(2) of the Securities Market Law, referring to the consolidated text approved by Royal Legislative Decree 4/2015 of 23 October. That was the statutory framework cited in the 2018 document; it should not be presented without qualification as the current name of Spain’s securities legislation.
Is FXGIM currently authorised?
The CNMV’s warning database still lists FXGIM under “No autorizadas”, with the warning date shown as 15/10/2018 and the associated website listed as FXGIM.COM/ES/.
For a personal investor, the practical point is straightforward: the CNMV warning says FXGIM did not have the authorisation required for the specified services in Spain. A website, trading platform, marketing claim or account manager’s statement is not proof of regulatory authorisation.
Unauthorised firms operate outside the investor-protection and supervisory controls applied to authorised investment firms. The CNMV warns that investing through such entities carries a high risk of losing capital. That is a risk warning, not a finding that every payment made to FXGIM was lost.

What the warning does not prove
The official notice is narrower than some online summaries suggest. It establishes that the named entity was not authorised for the services covered by the warning. It does not, by itself:
- declare FXGIM a criminal enterprise;
- prove that FXGIM stole customer funds;
- confirm that every customer lost money;
- identify a specific amount of alleged client losses; or
- determine whether a particular person or company using a similar name is the same entity.
Those claims would require separate evidence, such as court records, company records, payment evidence or other regulator statements. The safest description is that FXGIM was the subject of a CNMV warning for providing, or appearing to provide, specified investment services without the required authorisation.
FXGIM is not FXGM
A particularly important source of confusion is the similarity between FXGIM and FXGM. They are not interchangeable names.

FXGM’s website currently describes FXGM as a brand of Depaho Ltd and refers to CySEC licence 161/11, South African FSCA licence 47709 and a Spanish CNMV branch registration number. Those are FXGM’s own disclosures and must not be attributed to FXGIM. A search result or article that changes “FXGIM” to “FXGM” can therefore give investors the wrong impression about both businesses.

How to check the FXGIM entry yourself
The CNMV provides a public warning search. Use the regulator’s site rather than relying on a broker’s “regulated” badge or a third-party comparison page.
- Open the CNMV page titled “Advertencias (entidades no autorizadas y otras entidades)”.
- Select “Buscador de entidades advertidas.”
- Under “Búsqueda por denominación,” find the field labelled “Por nombre: Denominación de la entidad.”
- Under “Búsqueda por tipo de advertencia,” select “No autorizadas.”
- Search for FXGIM or FXGIM GLOBAL INVESTMENT MARKETS.
The CNMV says the search accepts a full name or part of an entity’s name. Because similar names can belong to different businesses, also use the CNMV’s separate authorisation search when checking a firm that claims to be regulated. Match the legal name, website, licence and contact details—not just the brand name.
What to do if you have already sent money
If you deposited money with a firm identifying itself as FXGIM, preserve evidence before accounts or websites change. Keep copies of:
- the account-opening documents and terms;
- emails, text messages and chat transcripts;
- deposit and withdrawal requests;
- bank statements, card records or cryptocurrency transaction IDs;
- the website address, platform screenshots and telephone numbers; and
- any demand for taxes, “release fees” or additional deposits.
Contact the bank, card issuer or payment provider promptly and ask what dispute, recall or fraud-reporting options remain available. Report the matter to the relevant authorities and be cautious of anyone who later promises to recover the money for an upfront fee. A second payment does not improve the original investment position and may be another attempted loss.

Bottom-line assessment
FXGIM Global Investment Markets was named in a CNMV warning dated 15 October 2018, and the entry remains in the regulator’s unauthorised-entities database. The warning covered more than forex alone: it referred to the investment services in Article 140 and specified auxiliary services under Article 141, including investment advice and foreign-currency transactions.
It is accurate to say that the CNMV warned that FXGIM lacked the relevant authorisation. It is not accurate to call the alert a new warning, add an unsupported “Ltd” company name, confuse FXGIM with FXGM, or state that the notice itself proved fraud.
