When a SOL price alert does not arrive, the blockchain is rarely the first thing to blame. The usual break is in one of four layers: the alert targets the wrong SOL market, the alert no longer exists or has expired, the app or device blocks delivery, or a wallet is showing a temporarily stale feed. Check those layers in that order. Confirm the exact pair (such as SOL/USD or SOL/USDT), inspect the platform’s active-alert list, restore notification permissions, verify mode and limits, and refresh a wallet feed that says its price is out of date. A price alert is an informational notification; it is not an order.
How SOL alerts work—and where they break
A useful way to troubleshoot a missing notification is to treat delivery as a chain rather than a single switch. The platform has to monitor the intended SOL market, keep the alert active, detect the threshold condition, and hand a notification to an app, browser, or email channel that is allowed to deliver it. A failure at any link can look like “SOL alerts are broken.”

- Market selection: The alert must be attached to SOL and the intended quote market. SOL/USD and SOL/USDT are different markets, and their displayed prices can differ.
- Alert state: The alert must still appear in the platform’s active-alert list, with the intended above-or-below condition and target.
- Platform requirements: Some services require a particular app mode, a watchlist or favorite, or impose a count and validity limit.
- Delivery permissions: The phone operating system, the exchange or wallet app, and (for web alerts) the browser can each block notifications.
- Price-feed freshness: A wallet may briefly display an old quote even while the underlying network is operating normally.
Checking in this order prevents a common mistake: reinstalling an app or changing a threshold before confirming that the original alert still exists and is watching the right market.
A seven-step diagnostic order
Use this sequence for any exchange or wallet before assuming there is a platform-wide outage.

- Confirm the asset and quote. Open the market details and verify that the alert is for SOL, not a similarly named token, and that the quote is the one you intended, such as SOL/USD or SOL/USDT. If you moved between markets, recreate the alert on the correct pair.
- Open active alerts. Find the service’s alerts screen and check that the alert is present, its threshold is correct, and its direction (above or below) is unchanged. A missing entry is evidence that you need to recreate it, not that the notification channel is merely delayed.
- Check expiration and limits. Look for an expiration date, a per-market cap, or a total-alert cap. Binance, for example, documents both count limits and 90-day validity; those constraints are detailed below.
- Re-enable every notification layer. In the phone’s system settings, allow notifications for the app. Inside the exchange or wallet, turn on its push, in-app, or email options. For a browser alert, allow notifications for the site in the browser and in the operating system.
- Verify the required app mode. If a feature is limited to a professional or advanced interface, switch to that mode before creating the alert. Binance’s documented price-alert workflow requires Binance Pro.
- Refresh a stale wallet feed. If a wallet says the price is out of date, wait for reconnection and refresh the app. Do not interpret a stale display as proof that your SOL balance or the network has failed.
- Run a controlled test. First test the notification channel with a nonfinancial notification if the platform provides one. You can also set a deliberately close threshold, then restore the real target. Record whether a message actually arrived; do not claim the alert works merely because it was saved.
If the alert still fails, collect the platform and interface, exact market pair, above-or-below condition, threshold, time zone, device operating system, app or browser version, and a screenshot of the active-alert entry. Send that information through the platform’s official support route. Never include a seed phrase, private key, wallet password, recovery code, or other secret.
Coinbase: watchlist, alert setup, and notification settings
Coinbase price alerts require SOL to be on your watchlist. Adding the asset to a general market view is not enough if it is not in that watchlist.
Recreate a SOL alert in the mobile app
- Search for SOL in the Coinbase mobile app.
- Add SOL to the watchlist.
- Open SOL from the watchlist and tap the bell icon.
- Choose Add Alert.
- Select whether the alert should fire when the price goes above or below a target, enter the target, and save.
Turn on the delivery channels
Go to Account & Settings > Notification Settings. Enable the desired Price Alerts or Custom Alerts channels: push, in-app, and/or email. Then check the phone’s operating-system notification permission for Coinbase; an in-app setting cannot override a system-level block.

Coinbase describes price alerts as notifications that an asset has reached a certain price. They do not place an order for that asset. If you need to trade, you must review the market and submit an order separately. A notification arriving late or not at all therefore does not create, cancel, or modify an order.
If the alert appears to be correct but no message arrives
- Reopen the watchlist and confirm SOL is still listed.
- Check that the saved target and direction match the pair you are viewing.
- Confirm push permission in the phone settings and the selected channels in Notification Settings.
- Save a new test alert at a nearby level, observe whether delivery occurs, and then replace it with the intended target.
Binance: Pro mode, pair limits, and 90-day validity
Binance’s official workflow places price alerts in Binance Pro. If you cannot find the Alert control in a simpler interface, switch to Pro before troubleshooting delivery.
Create a SOL alert
- Open Binance Pro and select Markets.
- Search for the specific SOL trading pair you want to monitor.
- Tap Alert.
- Choose the condition and frequency, enter the target price, and create the alert.
- Confirm that the phone’s system settings permit Binance notifications.
Understand the documented limits

These are constraints documented by Binance, not a guarantee that every account or interface will display the same controls. If creation fails or a saved alert vanishes, inspect the pair and total counts and check the 90-day expiry before changing your phone settings.

Frequency and pair errors
An alert can be saved against a different SOL pair than the one on your screen. Return to Markets, search the pair again, and inspect the alert’s condition, frequency, and target. A SOL/USDT threshold should not be evaluated against a SOL/USD chart. Once the alert is recreated, leave Binance Pro open long enough to verify that it remains in the active list; saving a form without checking that list does not prove delivery.

Kraken: separate mobile and web permission checks
Kraken Pro supports alerts on both mobile and web, but each interface has its own permission path. Mobile delivery needs permission in two places; web delivery adds browser permission.
Kraken Pro on mobile
- In iOS or Android settings, allow push notifications for Kraken Pro.
- Open Kraken Pro and enable push notifications inside the app as well.
- Open Markets and tap the bell icon, or long-press a market.
- Create an alert for the selected SOL market and verify it in the app’s active-alert view.
If either the operating system or the app setting is off, the alert can remain active without reaching the device. Check both after operating-system updates, notification-summary changes, or a new-device setup.
Kraken Pro on the web
- Enable browser notifications for the Kraken site and allow the browser itself to send notifications in the operating system.
- Open the Alerts widget and create the alert for the intended SOL market.
- Confirm that the alert appears under Active alerts.
Seeing an entry under Active alerts confirms that the platform has a saved alert; it does not by itself confirm that the browser will display a notification. Keep the browser permission and operating-system permission enabled.
Volatility alerts
Kraken also offers volatility alerts for favorited assets. These are different from an absolute-price alert: favorite the relevant asset and choose the volatility option when that is the signal you actually want. Do not troubleshoot a volatility alert as if it had a fixed SOL/USD target.

When the wallet says “Price is out of date”
Solflare documents this message as a momentary stall in the live price feed. The first response is to wait for reconnection and refresh the app if the message persists. The warning concerns the freshness of the displayed quote; it is not a request for your recovery phrase and does not establish that the Solana network or your wallet balance is unavailable.

Enable wallet notifications
Solflare’s Notification Center documentation says notifications reach devices where notifications are enabled and toggled on. Check the device’s notification permission and the corresponding in-app toggle. If you changed phones, restored a backup, or disabled notifications temporarily, perform both checks again.
Protect wallet credentials
Never provide a seed phrase, private key, or wallet password to anyone claiming to be support. A legitimate troubleshooting request can use a screenshot with balances and personal details redacted, plus the app version and the visible error; it does not require secret recovery material.

Why the displayed SOL price can look wrong
“Wrong price” can describe several different situations. Start by identifying which one you see:
- Different quote currency: SOL/USD and SOL/USDT are separate markets. A stablecoin quote is not the same unit as a U.S.-dollar quote, even when their values are often close.
- Different market selection: An alert created on one trading pair will not necessarily correspond to the chart or pair currently open.
- Stale wallet feed: A Solflare “Price is out of date” message indicates that its live feed has stalled temporarily. Wait for reconnection and refresh.
- Different timing: A notification and a chart viewed later are observations at different moments. Record the time and pair before concluding that the threshold was evaluated incorrectly.
Do not “fix” a mismatch by lowering the target until you know the pair and feed are comparable. That can create an alert that fires at an unintended market level.

Permissions are layered. Work through the relevant list rather than toggling random settings.

Phone operating system
- Allow notifications for the exchange or wallet.
- Allow sound, banners, or lock-screen display if you rely on those surfaces.
- Check any system-wide focus, do-not-disturb, notification-summary, or battery restrictions that can delay delivery.
Inside the app
- Enable the platform’s price, custom, push, or wallet notification toggle.
- Remain signed in to the account that owns the alert.
- Recheck the setting after an app update or device migration.
Web browser
- Allow notifications for the exchange’s site in the browser.
- Allow the browser to send notifications in the operating system.
- Keep the alert visible in the site’s Active alerts area and avoid testing from a different browser profile that lacks the permission.
Email delivery has its own failure modes, including filtering and an incorrect account address, but the first diagnostic remains the platform’s active-alert list. If the alert is absent there, inbox troubleshooting cannot solve the underlying problem.

A test should verify delivery, not execute a trade. Use an alert feature only; never attach an order unless you intentionally want to trade.
- Choose a SOL pair you recognize and write down the current displayed price, quote currency, direction, and target.
- Use a deliberately close threshold so the condition is likely to be reached during your observation window, while keeping the alert informational.
- Confirm the new entry appears in the active-alert list.
- Watch for actual delivery on the selected channel. A saved entry is not evidence that a push or email arrived.
- After the test, delete or edit the test alert and restore the intended threshold and direction.
If the platform offers a nonfinancial notification test, use it first. It isolates a device-permission problem from a price-condition problem without changing the SOL target.
When to contact support—and what to send
Contact support after the alert is present, permissions are enabled, platform requirements are met, and a controlled test still fails. Supply a concise, reproducible record:
- Platform and interface, such as mobile app, web, or Binance Pro.
- Exact SOL market pair and quote currency.
- Above-or-below condition, target, and (where applicable) frequency.
- Approximate event time with time zone.
- Phone operating system or browser, plus app or browser version.
- Screenshot showing the active alert or the stale-price message, with account identifiers and balances redacted.
Support should never need your seed phrase, private key, wallet password, two-factor recovery code, or full authentication credentials. Anyone requesting those secrets is not helping you troubleshoot an alert.

Practical decision tree
The alert is missing from the list
Recreate it after checking expiry and limits. On Binance, check the 10-per-pair cap, 50-total cap, and 90-day validity. On Coinbase, put SOL on the watchlist before adding the alert.

The alert is present but no device notification arrives
Check the operating-system permission and the platform’s in-app setting. For Kraken mobile, both are required; for Kraken web, add browser permission at both browser and operating-system levels. Run a controlled test before changing the target.
The alert arrives for the wrong level
Verify SOL versus another asset, the exact quote market, above versus below, and any selected frequency. Compare the alert’s market with the chart you used to judge the result.
The wallet price is frozen or marked out of date
Wait for reconnection and refresh Solflare. If the warning persists, record the message, app version, device, and time for support; do not disclose wallet secrets.
You receive an alert but expect an automatic trade
Price alerts are informational. Coinbase explicitly states that its alerts do not place orders, and the other workflows described here are alert-creation features rather than instructions to submit a trade. Review and place any order separately, according to your own risk controls.
The Bottom Line
Recheck the SOL pair and active-alert entry first, then restore app and device permissions, confirm platform mode and limits, and refresh a stale wallet feed. Those checks resolve most missing or misleading SOL alerts without exposing your wallet credentials or changing a trade unintentionally.
