Snowflake’s Partner Program Explained: SPN, Tiers, Resale and Marketplace

Snowflake’s partner program is the Snowflake Partner Network (SPN)—an umbrella ecosystem for technology vendors, consultancies, system integrators, managed-service providers, resellers, data providers and application developers. It is not one identical package for every company.

The right route depends on what a business does: deliver Snowflake services, build an integration, sell data or applications through Snowflake Marketplace, or resell Snowflake as part of a broader customer solution. Registered participation is free, while the Select, Premier and Elite tiers involve an annual investment whose amount is not publicly disclosed.

What is the Snowflake Partner Network?

The SPN supports companies that build, consult, resell or integrate around Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud. Snowflake’s public directory broadly separates participants into AI Data Cloud Services Partners and AI Data Cloud Products Partners, although individual partner motions can overlap.

The ecosystem includes:

  • Services partners: consultancies, system integrators and managed-service providers.
  • Technology partners: software companies that provide integrations, data engineering, analytics, governance, security or AI tools.
  • Resellers: qualified partners that sell Snowflake as part of a broader solution.
  • Data and application providers: companies distributing data products, applications, Native Apps and connected applications.
  • Cloud and strategic partners: major technology relationships, such as Snowflake’s relationships with AWS, Microsoft and Workday.

For customers, the ecosystem can provide migration expertise, implementation support, specialized applications and managed operations. For partners, it can provide training, technical enablement, Marketplace distribution and potential collaboration with Snowflake’s field organization.

Those benefits are opportunities rather than guarantees. SPN membership alone does not guarantee leads, referrals, commissions or customer demand.

See Snowflake’s official partner overview.

The four public partner tiers

Tier What is publicly clear What it does not prove
Registered Entry-level participation is available at no cost. It does not by itself demonstrate deep delivery experience.
Select A higher SPN tier with additional program expectations and benefits. It is not a universal certification or guarantee of project quality.
Premier A higher-level tier associated with greater investment and program engagement. It does not automatically make a partner the best choice for every workload.
Elite The highest publicly named SPN tier. It is not proof that the partner is superior for a particular industry, region or project.

Snowflake says qualification can vary by partner type and may consider adoption, revenue, certifications and customer-success thresholds. Select, Premier and Elite also involve an annual investment, but Snowflake’s public overview does not state a universal price.

There is no publicly available, one-size-fits-all scorecard showing every threshold, fee and benefit. Companies should confirm current requirements, investment levels and regional rules through the partner portal or directly with Snowflake.

The main ways to partner with Snowflake

Route Best suited to Typical contribution
Services Consultancies, SIs and managed-service providers Migration, modernization, data engineering, governance, implementation and operations
Products Software and technology vendors Integrations, analytics, security, observability, applications and AI tools
Resale Solution providers with customer procurement relationships Snowflake procurement combined with deployment, customer success and renewal support
Marketplace Data and application providers Distribution, paid listings, private offers and Snowflake-based procurement
Snowflake Ready Mature technology partners Technology validation for qualifying integrations
Startup program Eligible early-stage companies Usage support, technical expertise, go-to-market guidance and ecosystem networking

Services partners

Services partners commonly help with Snowflake migrations, data-warehouse modernization, data engineering, analytics, governance, security, AI and machine-learning projects. Some also provide managed Snowflake operations after implementation.

The strongest fit is usually a firm with Snowflake-certified staff, a repeatable delivery method, relevant customer references and experience in the customer’s industry, cloud and geography.

Technology and product partners

Technology partners may build connectors, ingestion tools, business-intelligence products, data-quality platforms, governance tools, security products, machine-learning systems, Native Apps or connected SaaS applications.

A superficial connector is not the same as a mature Snowflake product integration. Technical validation, security, production deployments and ongoing support can matter more than a directory listing.

Resellers

Snowflake announced a redesigned resale program in 2025. The model is aimed at qualified partners that can sell Snowflake as part of a broader solution and support customers across procurement, deployment, customer success and renewals.

Rank #2

  • Used Book in Good Condition

This suggests that lifecycle-oriented solution providers are a stronger fit than businesses seeking to pass through a Snowflake transaction with little implementation or operational involvement. That is an inference from Snowflake’s description of the model, not a published rule that excludes every transactional reseller.

Resale is not an automatic consequence of joining SPN. A company must confirm whether it is authorized to resell, which terms apply and which geographic or customer restrictions exist.

What benefits do partners receive?

Snowflake publicly highlights several categories of partner support:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Co-selling and field-team collaboration.
  • Marketplace listing opportunities.
  • Sandbox credits.
  • Technical training and partner learning tracks.
  • Sales and technical-sales enablement.
  • Co-marketing opportunities.
  • Partner-portal access and program materials.
  • SnowPro preparation and partner credentials.
  • Programs tailored to services, products, resale and Marketplace activity.

The partner learning portal includes material covering sales foundations, data engineering, go-to-market readiness, technical primers, Marketplace strategy, generative AI, technical sales, migration, Snowconvert, Openflow, AI Data Cloud Products and services registration.

These benefits require work. A company must invest in trained personnel, customer delivery, technical readiness and account planning. Training or a badge should not be treated as a substitute for production experience.

How co-selling works

Co-selling is better understood as coordinated account work than as automatic lead generation. A practical co-selling motion may involve:

  1. Defining a customer use case and joint account strategy.
  2. Aligning with relevant Snowflake account executives and field teams.
  3. Agreeing who qualifies the opportunity and owns implementation, support and renewal.
  4. Documenting or registering services opportunities where the applicable program requires it.
  5. Demonstrating relevant certifications, references and delivery capacity.
  6. Coordinating procurement, resale or Marketplace mechanics.

Snowflake’s partner-learning content emphasizes field-team collaboration, deal lifecycle knowledge and shared metrics. That does not mean every partner receives referrals.

The SPN agreement effective June 10, 2025 describes an optional referral program. Referral commissions, where applicable, are governed by separate terms and eligibility requirements; the agreement does not establish a universal commission schedule.

How Snowflake Marketplace fits into the ecosystem

Snowflake Marketplace is more than a directory. Providers can distribute data products, applications, Native Apps, connected applications and other Snowflake-related offerings. Depending on the listing and provider arrangements, offerings may use paid listings, private offers or other commercial routes.

Provider requirements

Snowflake’s provider documentation generally requires a full Snowflake account, the relevant provider privileges and acceptance of applicable provider and consumer terms. Reader Accounts cannot be used for provider participation.

Listing, monetization and procurement requirements are not necessarily identical. A provider may need additional legal, technical, security or commercial approval for a particular listing type.

Marketplace Capacity Drawdown

Eligible Marketplace purchases may qualify for Marketplace Capacity Drawdown (MCD), which can allow customers to use existing Snowflake committed spend for qualifying purchases. Snowflake’s public documentation indicates that general availability is commonly tied to U.S.-based consumers buying from U.S.-based providers, with Florida excluded for both providers and consumers.

Those rules can change, and eligibility may depend on the customer account, provider, product and geography. Confirm the current position before relying on committed spend as part of a commercial plan.

Connected applications

Snowflake’s public Connected App requirements include:

  • Active SPN membership.
  • Enrollment in the AI Data Cloud Products Partner Program.
  • Connected Application Select status or higher.
  • A Connection String Identifier for telemetry and usage tracking.
  • A completed Security & Data Handling Attestation.
  • A public paid listing, with deals fulfilled through standard or private offers.

The provider must remain active in SPN and maintain at least Select status to keep the application listed. See the official Connected App requirements.

What changed in Snowflake’s partner program?

In September 2025, Snowflake described a significant evolution of its partner network, including increased investment in collaboration, training, ecosystem enablement and a redesigned resale program.

The change matters because it places greater emphasis on partners that can participate throughout the customer lifecycle—not merely refer a prospect or perform a narrow implementation. Snowflake’s public announcement does not provide a universal public schedule for reseller margins, incentives or approval timelines.

Snowflake’s learning portal includes material on the Service Registration Incentive (SRI). Public sources do not provide a complete payout schedule or every eligibility rule, so companies should obtain current details through the Partner Portal or a Snowflake representative.

Snowflake also says that older Partner Connect trials are moving toward provider Marketplace listings. Articles that direct every user to Partner Connect may therefore be outdated; check the current migration documentation.

What Snowflake Ready means

The Snowflake Ready Technology Validation Program is a maturity and integration-validation program, not entry-level SPN membership and not a general services certification.

Public prerequisites include:

  • Select, Premier or Elite SPN status.
  • A native connector available for at least six months.
  • Operation with Snowflake on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Ten joint customers in production.
  • Two publicly referenceable customers.
  • One published joint customer case study.

Qualifying partners can receive a Snowflake Ready Technology badge subject to Snowflake’s branding rules. The badge indicates that the technology met a defined validation route; it does not prove that the provider is the right implementation or managed-service partner for every customer.

How to join Snowflake’s partner program

  1. Choose the motion. Decide whether the company is pursuing services, products, resale, Marketplace, applications or technology integration.
  2. Use Snowflake’s partner pathway. Submit interest or apply through the Join Our Partner Network route.
  3. Enter the partner process. If admitted, review the current SPN agreement and portal requirements.
  4. Build expertise. Train relevant sales, architecture, engineering and delivery staff; pursue applicable SnowPro credentials.
  5. Prepare evidence. Develop customer references, production examples, security information and a repeatable delivery or support model.
  6. Select the commercial route. Determine whether the company needs a direct services relationship, resale authorization, a Marketplace listing or technology validation.
  7. Align with Snowflake’s field organization. Define target accounts, workload strengths, geography and responsibilities.
  8. Confirm current terms. Verify tier investment, incentives, Marketplace eligibility, geography, approval steps and support obligations before committing resources.

Accessing the Partner Portal or participating in SPN activities constitutes acceptance of the applicable agreement, but the public agreement does not expose every operational requirement.

Is Snowflake’s partner program worth it?

It is most compelling for a company with genuine Snowflake demand and a repeatable capability around the platform.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Strong fit

  • Snowflake-focused consultancies and system integrators.
  • Technology vendors with production-grade Snowflake integrations.
  • Data or application providers with a mature security and support model.
  • Solution providers that can manage procurement, implementation, adoption and renewals.
  • Companies with relevant certifications, customer references and a defined industry or workload specialty.

Weaker fit

  • Generic agencies with no Snowflake delivery depth.
  • Transactional resellers that cannot support the customer lifecycle.
  • Vendors whose integration is superficial or rarely used in production.
  • Companies joining mainly for guaranteed leads, commissions or a badge.

The economic case should include staff training, certification maintenance, sales alignment, technical integration, security work, customer support and any higher-tier investment. Marketplace or co-selling access can expand distribution, but neither guarantees revenue.

How customers should choose a Snowflake partner

Snowflake’s directory is a useful discovery tool, but a listing or tier should be the beginning of diligence, not the conclusion. The directory can be filtered by factors such as partner type, tier, workload specialization, industry competency and region.

Evaluate candidates on:

  • Relevant Snowflake certifications held by the proposed delivery team.
  • Comparable migrations, analytics, AI or application deployments.
  • Production references and case studies.
  • Experience with the customer’s cloud, country, region and industry.
  • Migration methodology, architecture ownership and governance practice.
  • Security, privacy and cost-management capabilities.
  • Post-launch support, managed services and incident response.
  • Whether the partner is authorized for resale or provides services only.
  • Whether Marketplace or committed-spend procurement is actually available for the proposed offering.
  • The commercial model, staffing plan and ownership of renewals.

Questions to ask before signing

  1. How many comparable Snowflake deployments have you completed?
  2. Which SnowPro certifications do the proposed team members hold?
  3. Can you provide public or private customer references?
  4. What experience do you have with our cloud, region and industry?
  5. Do you provide migration, implementation, optimization and ongoing operations?
  6. Are you authorized for resale, or are you only a services partner?
  7. Can this purchase use Snowflake Marketplace or eligible committed spend?
  8. Who owns post-launch support and cost governance?
  9. How will you monitor Snowflake consumption and prevent unexpected usage growth?
  10. What happens if the Snowflake account team or assigned partner contact changes?

Key cautions

  • Do not equate tier with technical quality. Ask about the actual team and comparable work.
  • Do not assume every SPN member can resell Snowflake. Resale requires separate qualification and terms.
  • Do not confuse a Marketplace listing with monetization approval. Paid listings and private offers can carry additional requirements.
  • Do not call Snowflake Ready a general certification. It is technology validation with significant prerequisites.
  • Do not assume worldwide uniformity. Program benefits, procurement rules and Marketplace eligibility can vary by geography.
  • Do not rely on old Partner Connect guidance. Snowflake is moving prior Partner Connect activity toward Marketplace listings.
  • Do not rely on a public page for every commercial detail. Tier investments, referral terms, incentives, margins and approval timelines may require portal or representative confirmation.

For comparison, companies evaluating the broader data-platform ecosystem may also examine Databricks, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift or Microsoft Fabric. The best choice depends on cloud strategy, workload, geography, procurement and delivery requirements—not on a generic platform ranking.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
