Skilling Trading Broker Review

Skilling is a CFD-only broker, not a stockbroker. You can use it to speculate on the price of forex pairs, shares, indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies, but you do not own the underlying shares or coins. That distinction is the starting point for this review.

Skilling offers its own Skilling Trader platform alongside cTrader, MetaTrader 4 and, for eligible activated real accounts, TradingView integration. European clients may be onboarded by Skilling Ltd, regulated by Cyprus’s CySEC under licence 357/18. Skilling also publishes documents for a separate Seychelles entity regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under licence SD042. Your protections, leverage and governing legal terms depend on which entity accepts your account.

Skilling is not presented as available to U.S. residents. The broker’s restricted-jurisdiction notice also names the United Kingdom, Australia, Belgium and North Korea, among other locations.

Is Skilling regulated?

For European clients, the relevant company may be Skilling Ltd. The CySEC public register lists it under licence 357/18 at 62 Athalassas Avenue, 2nd Floor, 2012 Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus.

Skilling separately publishes regulatory and client-agreement documents for Skilling (Seychelles) Limited, regulated by the Seychelles FSA under licence SD042. The Seychelles client agreement states that Seychelles courts have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes under that agreement.

This is important because “Skilling regulation” does not describe one identical protection package. Check the legal entity named in your onboarding documents before depositing money. EU retail accounts currently state that negative-balance protection applies, and Skilling Ltd publishes an Investor Compensation Fund policy confirming membership in Cyprus’s investor-compensation scheme. Those statements should not automatically be extended to an account held by the Seychelles entity.

Skilling’s current disclosures do not support calling it FCA-regulated. The United Kingdom is listed as a restricted jurisdiction, and the current regulatory materials identify the Cyprus and Seychelles entities instead.

Can U.S. residents use Skilling?

No—not according to Skilling’s current restricted-country notice. The United States is explicitly listed among the restricted jurisdictions. The same notice says access may be unavailable wherever offering the service is prohibited by local law.

A U.S. reader should therefore not treat Skilling as an available alternative to a U.S.-regulated stock or futures broker. Do not try to bypass geographic restrictions with inaccurate residency information or a third-party payment account.

What can you trade?

Skilling offers contracts for difference on:

• Forex pairs
• Shares and equities
• Stock-market indices
• Commodities
• Cryptocurrencies

A share CFD tracks the price of a company’s stock. It does not give you shareholder ownership, voting rights or custody of the actual stock. A cryptocurrency CFD similarly provides price exposure without transferring coins to a crypto wallet or giving you exchange custody.

Skilling separately advertises more than 1,200 instruments on its Skilling Trader and cTrader pages. These numbers appear to be platform-specific, so they should not be treated as one guaranteed instrument count across every account.

Skilling account types and deposits

The main account categories shown on the EU site are Standard, Premium, MT4 and MT4 Premium. Professional and Corporate accounts are also mentioned.

“From” matters here: a 0.8-pip or 0.1-pip spread is not a fixed price available at all times. Spreads can widen during news, market closures, low liquidity and fast-moving markets. Other fees may apply, and Skilling notes additional conditions for cryptocurrency CFDs.

The EU account page shows retail leverage of 1:30, professional leverage of 1:200 and a 50% stop-out level. Professional status requires eligibility; it is not simply a setting that every retail customer can switch on. The same table shows leveraged crypto at 1:2 and swaps as applicable.

Cyprus policy documents state a €100 minimum deposit. The Seychelles deposit policy states $100 or the equivalent in the account currency. That difference is another reason to confirm your entity and account currency before funding.

Trading platforms

Skilling Trader

Skilling Trader is the proprietary platform, available through web and mobile interfaces. It is the most straightforward choice for someone who wants to trade without first learning MT4’s older interface. Skilling says the platform supports more than 1,200 instruments.

Skilling cTrader

cTrader is aimed at traders who want more advanced charting and algorithmic tools. Skilling highlights Automate Editor and support for C# and .NET frameworks. That makes it more relevant to systematic traders than the basic proprietary interface.

MetaTrader 4

Skilling provides MT4 through web, desktop, Android and iOS. The platform supports Expert Advisors, technical indicators and the familiar MT4 trading environment. Instrument availability can differ materially from the Skilling Trader and cTrader accounts.

TradingView integration

TradingView integration is not an automatic feature of every account. Skilling’s November 2025 support instructions require you to:

1. Create a real Skilling account.
2. Email [email protected] and request TradingView activation.
3. Log in separately to TradingView and open Trading Panel.
4. Search for Skilling.
5. Connect the enabled Skilling account in the pop-up window.

Demo accounts cannot be connected. A Skilling account is also not a TradingView login; you need separate accounts with both services. The broker’s support material treats MT4 connectivity as a separate issue, so do not assume an MT4 account is automatically compatible with TradingView.

To open or download a platform from the Skilling account area, the documented path is:

Log in to Skilling.com → burger menu → My Account → Accounts → choose the platform or download option under the relevant account.

For MT4 desktop, use Burger menu → My Account → Accounts → MT4 Desktop icon under “Download.”

Fees and trading costs

Skilling’s pricing depends on the account:

• Standard: wider advertised spreads from 0.8 pips and no stated commission.
• Premium: spreads from 0.1 pips plus a volume-based commission.
• MT4 Standard and Premium: similar structure, with a different Premium commission schedule.
• Overnight positions: swaps or financing charges may apply.

Swap rates can be positive or negative depending on the instrument, position and applicable rate. Skilling says swaps are applied at the end of the trading day; one current CFD page identifies that time as 21:59 GMT.

For its unleveraged, swap-free crypto CFD account, Skilling states that positions use 1:1 leverage and are swap-free for 30-day intervals. A taker fee of at least 0.1% per side may apply, followed by an administrative fee every 30 days if the position remains open. This is still CFD trading—not ownership of cryptocurrency.

Swap-free accounts for religious purposes are available by contacting support, but fees may apply after positions in certain instruments remain open for a specified period.

Deposits, withdrawals and the costs people often miss

For the Cyprus entity, the deposit policy states that card deposits are generally instant. Trustly can take up to three business days, while bank transfers can take one to seven business days. Skrill and Neteller are generally credited instantly. Payment methods vary by country, and some methods do not support withdrawals.

Skilling’s documented withdrawal path is:

1. Log in to the Skilling platform.
2. Open the burger menu in the top-left corner.
3. Select Withdraw funds.
4. Choose the account.
5. Enter the amount and confirm the request.

The Cyprus withdrawal policy sets a minimum withdrawal of €50 or equivalent. Withdrawals generally return through the same funding method. A card can normally receive only the amount deposited by card; excess funds generally need to go by bank transfer or another previously used method. Skilling does not process payments to third parties, and the receiving account must be in the client’s name.

Skilling aims to process withdrawal requests within one working day, but that is not the same as money arriving in your bank account. Bank transfers may take another one to seven business days after processing.

Open trades create an additional risk. Skilling’s help article says 20% of free margin must remain in the account if you withdraw while positions are open. A withdrawal can therefore reduce your available margin and contribute to a stop-out if the remaining buffer becomes too small.

Potential charges include:

• A 2.5% non-trading fee after a withdrawal request with no trading activity.
• A 2.5% charge on subsequent withdrawals when more than one withdrawal is made in a day; one withdrawal per day is generally free of a Skilling charge, excluding bank-wire fees.
• SEPA wire fees of €15.
• SWIFT wire fees of €25, $25, £25 or 260 SEK/NOK, depending on currency.
• Neteller and Skrill charges of up to 2.9% at Skilling’s discretion.

Older or entity-specific policies show different maximum charges, including 3% or 5%. Read the current fee schedule attached to your account rather than relying on a universal “free withdrawals” claim.

Execution and CFD risk

Skilling’s CySEC best-execution policy says it sources prices from regulated third-party liquidity and price providers, uses price aggregation and applies symmetrical or consistent markups to raw spreads. Execution is predominantly automated under normal conditions, with manual intervention reserved for exceptional risk-management or system-integrity situations.

The policy does not promise zero slippage or guaranteed execution prices. In volatile or illiquid markets, spreads, available liquidity and execution prices can change. Stop orders may not fill at the exact level you expected.

CFDs also use leverage, which magnifies both gains and losses. The current EU pages state that 49% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. Some older Skilling pages still show 70%; the current 49% figure is the one to use when assessing the broker today. Neither percentage predicts your individual result.

Skilling pros and cons

Who is Skilling best suited to?

Skilling may suit an eligible non-U.S. trader who specifically wants leveraged CFD exposure and values access to several platforms. It is more compelling for someone comparing Skilling Trader, cTrader and MT4 than for a long-term investor looking to build a portfolio of real shares.

It is a poor fit if you want dividends, voting rights, actual cryptocurrency custody or conventional buy-and-hold ownership. It is also unsuitable if you are in a restricted jurisdiction, need an FCA-regulated provider, or want a simple fee structure without overnight financing and payment-method conditions.

How to check your terms before depositing

1. Identify the legal entity in your account-opening documents: Cyprus or Seychelles.
2. Confirm that your country is accepted and that the advertised leverage applies to your classification.
3. Compare the live spread and commission for the instruments you actually plan to trade, not only the “from” figures.
4. Check swap rates, crypto administrative fees and any inactivity or non-trading charges.
5. Fund and withdraw only through payment accounts in your own name.
6. Test the withdrawal route and understand the €50 minimum, processing times and margin requirement before keeping large positions open.
7. Use the demo account to learn the platform, but remember that demo accounts cannot be connected to TradingView.

Is Skilling a legitimate broker?

The Bottom Line

Skilling is a multi-platform CFD broker with a broad product list, but it is not a conventional investment broker. Its strengths are platform choice, including Skilling Trader, cTrader and MT4, and access to many markets from one account. Its limitations are equally important: no direct ownership of assets, restricted availability in the United States and several other countries, entity-dependent protections, variable trading costs and withdrawal conditions that can affect how quickly you access your money.

For an eligible non-U.S. trader who understands leverage and wants CFD exposure, Skilling may be worth comparing with alternatives. For a long-term investor seeking real shares or cryptocurrency ownership, it is the wrong type of account.
