Montevideo, Uruguay-based Scanntech announced a $180 million Series F financing on October 13, 2026. L Catterton led the round, Partners Group joined as co-lead through its private-equity growth strategy, and Bradesco and SPX participated. Scanntech says it will use the capital for geographic expansion, product development, broader analytics and artificial-intelligence capabilities, and entry into additional markets and consumer categories.
What Scanntech does
Founded in Uruguay in 1992, Scanntech connects directly to retailers’ point-of-sale (POS) systems. It processes ticket-level transaction records—individual purchase baskets rather than broad survey samples—and turns them into intelligence for retailers, consumer-goods companies and distributors.

That connection gives the company a data stream close to the actual checkout event. Retailers can use the information to understand sales and shopper behavior, while brands and distributors can analyze product movement, category trends and changes in purchasing patterns. Scanntech describes its platform as combining retail intelligence, data analytics and marketing services.
The company says its direct POS connections capture and process daily ticket-level data representing more than 80% of retail sell-out in the markets where it operates. This is a company-reported coverage figure for its operating markets, not a claim that Scanntech covers 80% of all Latin American retail or every country in the region.

Who invested in the Series F
| Investor | Role in the round | Stated strategic rationale |
|---|---|---|
| L Catterton | Lead investor | Consumer-investing experience and relationships with retailers and brands |
| Partners Group | Co-lead investor through its private-equity growth strategy | Operational expertise in scaling high-growth businesses |
| Bradesco | Participant | Financial-services expertise and connections |
| SPX | Participant | Participation in the financing; the announcement did not specify a separate operating mandate |
The investor rationales come from the companies’ announcement and describe intended contributions, not independently measured results. The financing announcement did not disclose Scanntech’s valuation, revenue, profitability, customer count, employee count or a country-by-country operating breakdown.
Why POS data is central to the business
Ticket-level detail
A POS ticket can contain the products purchased together, quantities, prices and the time of sale. Aggregating those records can reveal which categories are gaining or losing momentum, how promotions affect baskets and where demand is changing. The granularity is different from a panel or survey that observes a limited sample of shoppers.

Daily data processing
Scanntech says it captures and processes the information daily. That cadence can allow clients to react sooner to changes in sales or consumer behavior than they could with a report delivered weeks after the transactions occurred. “Daily” describes the company’s stated processing cadence; it does not mean every client receives a live feed or that every POS system updates simultaneously.

Because Scanntech connects to retailers’ POS systems, the platform’s value depends on maintaining those integrations and the quality and consistency of the underlying records. Direct access can support broader, more granular coverage than a separately recruited sample, but the company has not published a complete country-by-country list of its connections.

What the $180 million will fund
- Geographic expansion: entering or deepening presence in additional markets.
- Product innovation: developing new tools for retailers, brands and distributors.
- Analytics and AI: expanding analytical capabilities and building AI-powered solutions intended to create more value for clients.
- New categories: applying the platform to additional consumer and retail segments.
Scanntech has not provided a public allocation showing how much of the $180 million will go to each priority, nor has it announced a specific timetable for market launches or AI product releases.
Why the round matters for Latin American retail data
Retailers and consumer-goods companies increasingly need information that is both detailed and timely. A network built from direct checkout data can help connect what shoppers buy with decisions about assortment, pricing, promotions, distribution and marketing. Scanntech’s stated coverage of more than 80% of retail sell-out in its operating markets, if sustained as the company expands, is intended to make the resulting benchmarks more representative within those markets.
Rank #4
The financing also gives Scanntech investors with different, potentially complementary capabilities. L Catterton emphasizes consumer-sector relationships, Partners Group emphasizes scaling experience, and Bradesco brings a financial-services perspective. Those are strategic arguments for the investment; the announcement does not quantify any resulting revenue, coverage or efficiency gains.

- Whether its reported POS coverage grows beyond current operating markets.
- How the company turns daily transaction data into customer-facing AI products.
- Evidence of commercial outcomes, such as new customer adoption or expanded retailer and brand programs.
For now, the Series F is a growth investment in Scanntech’s data network and intelligence platform, not a disclosed acquisition or a financing with published valuation metrics. Its practical significance will depend on how effectively the company converts additional POS coverage and analytics investment into measurable results for retail and consumer-goods clients.
