Offer status: expired. The latest qualifying phone purchase date was 26 June 2025, and the final possible claim date was 26 July 2025.

The reward was the mid-range Galaxy Tab A9+, model/SKU SM-Z210NZ. Contemporary Samsung-focused coverage described it as having a promotional value of £259, but that was a 2025 reference value—not a verified current UK retail price.
The official promotion terms identify Samsung Electronics (UK) Limited as the promoter.

Which Galaxy S25 phones qualified?
The official terms available for review list these models:
- Galaxy S25 5G — SM-S931B
- Galaxy S25+ — SM-S936B
- Galaxy S25 Ultra — SM-S938B
All colours and variants of those listed models were covered, subject to the retailer, purchase date and other eligibility rules. The same terms also covered certain Galaxy Flip6 and Fold6 products, although those devices were outside the focus of this promotion report.
What about the Galaxy S25 Edge?
The S25 Edge is the promotion’s main uncertainty. A 26 May 2025 report from SamMobile initially said the Edge was excluded. A later SamMobile report on 12 June said the Edge had been added.

The safest conclusion is: the original verified terms do not establish S25 Edge eligibility. Samsung-focused coverage later reported that it qualified, but buyers would have needed to check the applicable amended retailer or claim terms at the time.
It was free after a successful claim—not an automatic freebie
“Free tablet” did not mean that every S25 order arrived with a tablet in the same box. The promotion was a claim-based reward:
- Buy an eligible new phone during the promotion window.
- Wait at least one day after purchase.
- Submit a claim within 30 days of purchase.
- Provide the required purchase and IMEI evidence.
- Wait for Samsung to validate the claim and dispatch the reward.
The historical claim destination named in the terms was samsungoffers.claims/summerupgrade. That page should be treated as a historical redemption address, not as proof that the promotion still accepts claims.

How the historical claim process worked
A valid claim required:
- Your name and contact details
- A delivery address
- The phone’s IMEI1 number
- Proof of purchase, such as a receipt
- An image showing the IMEI1 in the phone’s settings
- A photograph showing the IMEI1 on the handset itself
For a dual-SIM phone, take care to enter the correct identifier. Uploading an IMEI from the box instead of evidence from the phone, entering the wrong IMEI, or submitting an unreadable receipt could lead to rejection.

Samsung’s terms said that incomplete, damaged or late claims could be rejected. If Samsung requested extra information by email or SMS, the claimant had seven days to respond. Once a claim had been validated, the tablet was due to be sent by recorded delivery within 45 days.
Who was eligible?
The promotion was open to lawful residents of the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands, as well as the Republic of Ireland. Individual participants had to be aged 18 or over.
The phone also had to be:
- New, rather than used, refurbished or ex-display
- Bought for personal use, not resale
- Purchased from a participating retailer
- Purchased within the stated promotion dates
The retailer list included Samsung, EE, O2, Giffgaff, Sky Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Three, Vodafone, Argos, Amazon UK, AO, Currys, Carphone Warehouse, John Lewis and Very, among others. The exact retailer and product eligibility mattered.
Amazon purchases had a specific restriction
Amazon purchases had to be sold and dispatched by Amazon UK. A listing from an Amazon Marketplace seller, Amazon EU or another non-UK branch should not have been assumed eligible simply because it appeared on Amazon’s website.

Other exclusions
The terms excluded resellers and people buying for resale. Free giveaway phones and some staff-discounted promotion products could also be excluded. A retailer’s label saying “free tablet” was not, by itself, a substitute for checking Samsung’s official promotion terms.

How many tablets could one person claim?
The stated limits were:
- One reward per qualifying promotion product
- A maximum of four rewards per household
- A maximum of ten rewards for a company participant
The reward was non-transferable and had no cash alternative. Samsung also reserved the right to substitute the tablet with a different colour or an equivalent SKU in certain circumstances.
What if the phone was returned?
The available terms do not fully spell out every return scenario. However, the reward depended on a valid, compliant purchase, and Samsung reserved the right to reject invalid claims.
If a qualifying phone was returned or a contract was cancelled, the reward could be affected or potentially recovered. Anyone dealing with a return should check both the retailer’s return policy and the applicable Samsung promotion terms before sending the phone back. Do not assume that returning the phone allows you to keep the tablet.
Was it good value?
The tablet was a useful extra, but it was not an equivalent-value replacement for a flagship phone. The Tab A9+ is better understood as a companion device for streaming, browsing, video calls and household use—not as a premium productivity or high-performance gaming tablet.
SamMobile reported launch-era UK prices of approximately £799 for the Galaxy S25, £999 for the S25+ and £1,249 for the S25 Ultra. Those are historical May 2025 figures, not current September 2026 prices.
Buying the most expensive S25 Ultra solely to obtain a tablet could therefore be poor value. A lower phone price, a later discount, a trade-in offer or a cheaper contract could produce a better overall result. Compare the total cost of ownership rather than subtracting the tablet’s promotional valuation from the phone price.

Can you still claim the tablet?
No—not for a new purchase made now. The verified purchase deadline was 26 June 2025. Because the terms allowed 30 days for a claim and counted the purchase date as day one, someone buying on the final day had until 26 July 2025 at 23:59 BST.

What to compare instead
- Check current Samsung UK offers and trade-in promotions.
- Use Samsung’s trade-in information to calculate the value of your exact old device and its condition.
- Compare SIM-free pricing with the full cost of any financed or contract phone.
- Consider a discounted S25-series phone without a tablet if the saving is larger.
- Buy a Tab A9+ separately only if you genuinely need an affordable companion tablet.
- Consider newer Samsung phones or competing Android models if price, camera performance, battery life or update support matters more than Galaxy ecosystem integration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Was the free Samsung tablet offer real?
Yes. Samsung Electronics UK ran a genuine 2025 promotion offering a Galaxy Tab A9+ 128GB in Graphite after an eligible purchase and successful claim.
Did every Galaxy S25 model qualify?
The verified original terms list the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra. Later SamMobile coverage reported that the S25 Edge had been added, but the available original terms do not show that change, so Edge eligibility cannot be confirmed from those terms alone.
Did Amazon purchases qualify?
Only purchases sold and dispatched by Amazon UK were specified as eligible. Marketplace sellers, Amazon EU and other non-UK branches should not have been assumed to qualify.

No. The terms required a new phone and excluded second-hand, refurbished and ex-display devices.
How many tablets could a household claim?
The limit was one reward per qualifying product and a maximum of four rewards per household.
How long did delivery take?
After validation, the terms said the reward would be dispatched by recorded delivery within 45 days.

The Bottom Line
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ giveaway was a real UK promotion, but it was conditional, retailer-specific and time-limited. It expired in July 2025, so current buyers should compare Samsung’s live offers and trade-in terms instead of treating the old free-tablet deal as available.
