What was reported about the sale?
Fortune’s October 20, 2025, account said the sale took place in spring 2025 and described it as the most expensive home sale in Washington state as of April. Fortune credited the Puget Sound Business Journal as the first outlet to report the transaction. Inman reported the sale on April 11, 2025, and also characterized it as a state record.

The claim should therefore be treated as a time-bounded report rather than a confirmed, ongoing state record.

A later Hunts Point sale does not settle the statewide comparison. The Real Deal reported a separate $38 million Hunts Point mansion transaction in May 2026 and referred to Bezos’s sale as having occurred the previous April. That is useful local context, but it does not establish a complete statewide ranking or make the Bezos transaction’s record status current.

King County’s Recorder’s Office says its Landmark Records Search can search recorded documents using fields including consideration (selling price), parcel ID and recording date. The county search is the appropriate official route to investigate a recorded transaction; the subject filing was not identified here.
