Short answer: QkrHR is easier to evaluate if you want published per-user pricing, Indian payroll features and field-force tools in a cloud-first package. Ultimatix HCM Suite may suit organizations that need cloud or on-premises deployment, broader HR modules or vendor-led configuration. There is no universal winner on public information alone, and Ultimatix here means Orange Technolab’s commercial HRMS—not the internal TCS employee portal.
This is a comparison of vendors’ published product information, not an independent hands-on test. Ask both vendors for demonstrations and written, itemized quotations before deciding.

What each product is
QkrHR
QkrHR is Qkrbiz’s cloud HRMS, positioned for Indian businesses. Its published material covers employee records, payroll, leave, attendance, workflows, employee self-service, assets, analytics, expenses and mobile or field-force functions. The official QkrHR product page and pricing page provide the clearest public buying information.
#1 Best Overall
Ultimatix HCM Suite
Ultimatix HCM Suite is Orange Technolab’s commercial HRMS and payroll product. It is distinct from the employee-facing internal platform associated with Tata Consultancy Services. Orange Technolab describes its product as configurable and offers cloud and on-premises deployment. Its company and product overview, mobile-app page and main site outline its modules and demo-led sales process.
Pricing and total cost
QkrHR publishes these monthly prices per user, with the page specifying teams of 50 or more. It also states that annual billing receives a 10% discount. These are list-price signals, not a complete implementation or first-year cost quote.
| QkrHR plan | Published monthly price per user | Broad plan emphasis |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | ₹40 | Core HR, basic payroll, leave, employee self-service and basic workflows |
| Foundation | ₹80 | Adds attendance, shifts, advanced workflows, onboarding, assets, engagement and advanced analytics |
| Growth | ₹180 | Adds expenses, travel, GPS/geo-fencing, field-force automation and advanced security and analytics |
Ultimatix does not publish a comparable official per-user rate card in the cited material; prospects are directed to contact the vendor or book a demo. Do not use third-party directory figures as a budget estimate: one listing shows an implausible $0.01-per-year starting price without meaningful plan detail. See the Software Advice listing alongside the vendor’s own site.

Features that matter in day-to-day HR
Employee records and self-service
QkrHR lists employee profiles, organizational structure, documents and letters, onboarding, permissions, roles, exit processes, activity logs and employee self-service. Ultimatix lists employee management, self-service, onboarding, exit and statutory modules, grievance handling, help desk, assets and configurable rights/security. Public feature lists establish that these areas are advertised, not that workflows have equal depth or usability.
Payroll and Indian statutory workflows
QkrHR’s plan information names PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS, as well as salary calculations, payslips, bank-file export, loss-of-pay, overtime, arrears, reimbursements and statutory reports. Orange Technolab describes payroll/tax and statutory modules along with gratuity, bonus, full-and-final settlement, reimbursements, loans, claims and travel. Its FAQ says the product supports PF, ESI, TDS, professional tax and other Indian statutory requirements; treat this as a vendor claim and verify it against your actual cases.
For either system, confirm state-wise professional-tax and labour-welfare-fund handling, payroll audit trails, statutory return and challan workflows, Form 16, tax declarations, and how regulatory changes are maintained. Ask who is responsible when an update affects a live payroll.

QkrHR lists biometric or web punch, mobile punch without GPS in Foundation, and GPS attendance and geo-fencing in Growth. It also describes shift rosters, rotational shifts, overtime, timesheets, regularization and leave-policy tools. Ultimatix describes attendance machines, time and shift management, overtime, comp-off and late marks; its mobile material lists GPS and selfie attendance, geo-fencing, missing-punch regularization, leave applications and approvals.
Rank #3
GPS attendance is not automatically a full field-operations system. QkrHR’s published Growth features include task assignments, visit logs, real-time status, field expenses and route/day plans. Ultimatix’s cited mobile material establishes mobile attendance capabilities, but does not establish equivalent route-planning or visit-verification depth.
Recruitment, onboarding, performance and learning
QkrHR’s public descriptions emphasize core HR, onboarding and engagement features such as announcements, polls, recognition and milestones. They provide less detail on recruitment, learning and performance workflows. Ultimatix lists recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, talent management, rewards and task management as modules or add-ons. Ask each vendor to demonstrate the entire workflow you need—from requisition or review through approvals and employee records—and state in writing whether it is included or separately priced.
Expenses, travel and claims
QkrHR’s Growth plan lists expense claims, bill uploads, policy mapping, travel requests, approvals, reimbursements, claim history and field expenses. Ultimatix lists loans, claims, travel and reimbursements. Confirm whether policies can vary by grade, location or department, whether advances and settlements are supported, and whether approved expense data flows into payroll or accounting exports. Ask whether mobile bill uploads, GST handling and integrations are included in the quoted configuration.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

QkrHR advertises dashboards and reports for headcount, attrition, attendance trends and overtime, with custom dashboards and Excel exports varying by plan. Ultimatix describes MIS and analysis reports, graphical dashboards and reporting across HR and payroll. In a demo, distinguish fixed reports from configurable dashboards, scheduled reports and role-restricted access.
Rank #4
Ultimatix’s public material mentions biometric integration, Excel import/export, WhatsApp Business and chatbot integration, and mobile applications. QkrHR lists bulk employee, payroll and leave import/export, migration assistance, directory/SSO readiness and multi-device access. Neither list confirms that a particular connector, API or SSO configuration is included in your quote. Ask about documentation, webhooks, rate limits, accounting/ERP and banking exports, and complete data export on cancellation.
QkrHR lists encryption, role-based access, audit logs, backups and recovery among its features. Orange Technolab describes role-based security and periodic security reviews and notes ISO 27001/27002 and SOC 2-related milestones on its company timeline. These public statements are not a substitute for current, scoped security evidence. Request current certificates and validity dates, data-center location, encryption details, MFA/SSO options, backup and disaster-recovery commitments, subprocessors, retention/deletion terms, incident notification procedures and mobile location-data controls.
Deployment, scale and implementation
QkrHR is presented as cloud-first, and its published pricing threshold is 50 or more employees. Ultimatix says it offers cloud and on-premises deployment and describes an architecture supporting approximately 50 to 50,000 users. That scale figure is a vendor claim, not an independently tested capacity result. If you need on-premises hosting, unusual approval paths or multiple legal entities, make those requirements explicit before a demo.

Do not accept a generic implementation timeline as a guarantee. Ask who handles configuration, how payroll and attendance data are reconciled, whether a sandbox is available, which integrations are standard, what training and support are included, and what service levels apply during payroll cut-off. A structured pilot with anonymized production-like data can expose reporting, device and support issues before rollout.

How to evaluate payroll and attendance before signing
Run the same payroll case in both demos
Provide each vendor with the same anonymized employee and payroll inputs, then request the payroll register, payslip, statutory output and audit trail. Include:
- Multiple salary components and a mid-year increment
- Late attendance, loss of pay and overtime
- Tax declarations and a reimbursement
- An employee exit requiring full-and-final settlement
- Employees working in at least two Indian states
Check the calculations against your existing payroll process and have the vendor explain exceptions, approval history and statutory outputs. Ask for a current compliance matrix, sample reports, update policy and named support responsibility; a broad compliance claim alone does not establish that every state, component or edge case is covered.
Test attendance in your real conditions
Ask whether mobile punches work offline, whether location is collected only at punch time or continuously, how false GPS flags are handled, whether shared devices are supported, and how rules can vary by role or location. Test missed-punch correction, shift changes, biometric-device compatibility, connectivity loss and employee consent for GPS or selfie attendance.

Payroll history is more than employee names. Confirm import and reconciliation for salary structures, leave balances, opening payroll values, loans and advances, tax declarations, attendance history, full-and-final records, documents, employee IDs and statutory numbers. Before signing, obtain written terms for a complete export if you leave the platform, including formats, timing, charges and access to records after termination.
Advantages and trade-offs
QkrHR
- Advantages: Public tier pricing; a clear Indian payroll and HR feature set; employee self-service; and explicitly described field-force tools in Growth.
- Trade-offs: Published pricing applies to teams of 50 or more; GPS, geo-fencing and field-force features are in Growth; total implementation and integration costs are not captured by list prices; and public evidence is chiefly vendor-provided.
Ultimatix HCM Suite
- Advantages: Vendor-stated cloud and on-premises options; a broad list of HR lifecycle modules; and described biometric and mobile attendance capabilities.
- Trade-offs: No reliable official public price comparison; module packaging may vary between standard and add-on; and implementation, usability, payroll accuracy and service levels are not established by public descriptions alone.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose QkrHR as the first demo if published per-user pricing, packaged cloud deployment, Indian payroll and employee self-service are central—and especially if field employees need route, visit or expense workflows.
- Choose Ultimatix as the first demo if on-premises deployment, biometric integration, broader recruitment/performance/training modules or vendor-configured workflows are priorities, and you are prepared to obtain a negotiated quote.
- Shortlist both if you have multi-location payroll or a larger rollout: compare a written scope, cost and implementation plan against the same payroll and attendance test cases.
If neither aligns with your requirements, QkrHR’s SME comparison material also names Zoho People, greytHR and Keka as alternatives. Those references are the vendor’s own directional comparisons, not independent rankings; evaluate them against the same requirements. See QkrHR’s small-business software comparison, and the alternatives’ official sites for Zoho People, greytHR and Keka.

- What are the migration scope, reconciliation sign-off, pilot terms and implementation milestones?
- What security documents, hosting location, recovery commitments and incident-notification terms apply?
- What are the support escalation route and contractual SLA during payroll processing?
- Can you export all employee, payroll, attendance, document and audit data at termination, and at what cost?
