The launch lets eligible traders analyse markets, place spread bets and manage positions from TradingView’s charting interface rather than switching to a separate dealing platform.
This was not Pepperstone’s first TradingView milestone. The broker became available on TradingView for global FX and CFD users on 31 January 2022. The 2023 announcement was a separate expansion: UK spread betting through TradingView.
Who can use Pepperstone spread betting on TradingView?
Pepperstone currently says its spread-betting account is available to UK residents. It should not be described as a worldwide TradingView feature or as an account type available to every Pepperstone customer.
UK clients can select TradingView alongside MT4, MT5, cTrader and the Pepperstone platform when opening or requesting a spread-betting account. The available instruments include forex, indices, commodities, shares and other markets offered under Pepperstone’s spread-betting range.

Spread betting is a leveraged product. You can lose more than the amount paid to open a position, subject to the protections and account terms that apply to your account. Check the relevant product disclosure and margin requirements before trading.
How to open a Pepperstone TradingView spread-betting account
The exact labels can vary depending on whether you are opening a new account or adding an account to an existing Pepperstone profile. Pepperstone’s current instructions for a new demo account are:
- Log in to the Secure Client Area.
- Open Trading Accounts.
- Select Demo.
- Click “+Add a trading account”.
- Select TradingView.
- Choose “spread betting” as the account type.
- Submit the request.
For a live account, choose TradingView as the preferred platform during the account-opening process. TradingView’s own instructions describe the same process using different labels: open the Secure Client Area, click “Request an account” if no TradingView account is listed, select TradingView under “Platform Type”, then click “Submit”.
Do not assume that a TradingView account is automatically a spread-betting account. Pepperstone’s onboarding can offer a choice between spread betting and CFD Razor. Confirm the account type before depositing funds or placing a trade.

How to connect Pepperstone to TradingView
- Sign in to TradingView. If you are a new user, use the profile icon in the top-right corner and click “Sign in”.
- Open a chart and select “Trading Panel” at the bottom of the screen.
- Find Pepperstone and click “Connect”.
- TradingView will redirect you to the Pepperstone Secure Client Area.
- Log in to Pepperstone and click “Approve Access”.
Pepperstone says the email used for TradingView should match the email used in the Secure Client Area. A Pepperstone trading account cannot be used as the login for TradingView itself: you need a separate TradingView account, which is then connected to Pepperstone.
If Pepperstone is not listed in the Trading Panel, click “Show all brokers” and search for the broker. In some versions of the interface, you can instead click the three-dot button at the bottom-right of the Trading Panel, select Pepperstone and begin the connection there.

How to place a spread bet from a TradingView chart
- Search for the market you want to trade.
- Make sure the chart uses the Pepperstone-linked instrument, not simply a similarly named generic TradingView symbol.
- Right-click the chart and add an order, or click “Trade” beside the Trading Panel.
- Choose Buy or Sell.
- Select the order type: market, limit, stop or stop-limit.
- Enter the stake or quantity and any required price.
- Review the order preview and confirm.
TradingView also supports one-click trading. It is switched off by default. With confirmation enabled, TradingView displays an order preview before sending the instruction. With one-click trading enabled, an order or closing instruction can be sent immediately, so check the setting before trading a live account.
Take-profit and stop-loss instructions can be attached when entering a market or limit order. TradingView does not support attaching them at entry to stop or stop-limit orders. A position can have one take profit and one stop loss; when one is triggered, the other is cancelled.
Closing or changing a position
Pepperstone’s chart controls use the following options:
- Click the “x” at the end of the position to close it.
- Right-click the position and choose “Close position”.
- Click the pen icon to change the position.
- Alternatively, right-click and select “modify position”.
TradingView’s generic interface may instead show a Positions tab with a “Close” button. It also permits a smaller quantity for a partial close. The wording depends on whether you start from the chart overlay, the broker controls or the Positions tab.
What does Pepperstone spread betting cost?
Pepperstone says spread-betting accounts do not charge a separate commission. The dealing cost is incorporated into the spread, although overnight fees can apply to positions held beyond the relevant funding period.

These are minimum advertised spread-bet spreads, not guaranteed spreads available at every time of day or in every market condition. Pepperstone also advertises FX spreads from 0.6 points and gold spreads from 0.1 points, subject to the applicable product and pricing conditions.

Do not apply the commission for a TradingView Razor CFD account to a spread-betting account. Pepperstone treats these as separate products: spread betting is commission-free, while the Razor CFD account can carry commission.
Overnight funding: check the current product details
Pepperstone’s UK pages currently describe the overnight cutoff inconsistently. Its spread-betting page refers to positions held past 10 p.m. UK time. Its account-conditions page refers to positions held past 11:59 p.m. server time, identified there as 5 p.m. New York time.
That makes it unsafe to rely on one universal rollover time. Funding rates also vary by market, direction and product. Check the deal ticket, product details or current platform swap rates before holding a position overnight.
Tax treatment of UK spread betting
Pepperstone describes spread betting as tax-efficient and says that, in the UK, spread-betting profits are exempt from capital-gains tax. That is not a guarantee that every individual’s activity will receive the same treatment. Tax depends on personal circumstances and can change, so seek independent tax advice if your trading is substantial or forms part of your income.

Connecting the broker does not make every TradingView chart tradable. Pepperstone says the symbol must be the broker-linked instrument, usually identified by “Pepperstone” at the end of the symbol name.

If TradingView displays “Non-tradable symbol”, use “switch symbol” and choose the Pepperstone-linked version. A generic chart may show a useful price but still be unable to send orders to the connected spread-betting account.

Pepperstone is missing from TradingView
Open the Trading Panel, select “Show all brokers” and search for Pepperstone. If that option is not visible, use the three-dot menu at the bottom-right of the Trading Panel.
The connection returns a 403 error
Pepperstone recommends checking the Secure Client Area login, internet connection, browser cache and cookies. Also try an incognito window and a hard refresh using Ctrl + R. VPNs, VPS settings and antivirus software can block the connection. On mobile, clear the app cache or reinstall the app.
The order says “Not enough Funds”
This normally means the account does not have enough available margin for the requested position. Use Pepperstone’s margin calculator under “Trading Tools” in the Secure Client Area. Reducing the stake may lower the margin requirement, but it does not remove the risk of leverage.
The trade will not open
First check the symbol. Confirm that it is the Pepperstone-tagged spread-betting instrument rather than a generic, CFD or incorrectly mapped version. Use “switch symbol” if TradingView reports that the symbol is non-tradable.
TradingView is unavailable
Pepperstone says positions can be managed through cTrader if TradingView is malfunctioning or unavailable. Pepperstone describes the TradingView connection as powered by cTrader, so cTrader is also the route to use for older account records.

Why older trades may be missing from TradingView History
TradingView’s Pepperstone integration displays only trades placed during the previous 48 hours in its History tab. A trade older than that is not necessarily lost or deleted.
To retrieve an older Pepperstone record:
- Open cTrader.
- Select the “History” tab.
- Choose the required date range.
- Click the green “Statement” button on the right.
- Click “Save As” to export the report.

Select TradingView and spread betting during setup, connect through the Secure Client Area, use Pepperstone-tagged instruments and check the live spread and funding terms before placing an order. The platform is convenient; it does not change the risks or costs of leveraged trading.
