Yes, the $48 NFL Sunday Ticket Black Friday deal was legitimate. It was a limited 2025 promotion for eligible new Sunday Ticket subscribers, covering the remaining 2025 regular-season schedule. Reports said it ended on December 1, 2025, so it is not available now.
The offer was commonly advertised as four $12 payments, but the final checkout could vary by account, purchase route, taxes and billing terms.

What the 2025 promotion offered
| Customer | Reported price | Important condition |
|---|---|---|
| New Sunday Ticket subscriber | $48 total | Remaining 2025 regular-season Sunday Ticket games |
| Former or returning subscriber | $62 | Not eligible for the reported new-customer price |
| New YouTube TV customer | $48 plus YouTube TV | The Sunday Ticket price did not include the separate Base Plan |
The $48 and $62 figures were reported by TV Answer Man, Cord Cutter Weekly and PCWorld. The promotion was reportedly scheduled to end December 1, 2025.
Who counted as a new user?
“New” generally meant someone who had never previously purchased NFL Sunday Ticket—not necessarily someone new to YouTube or YouTube TV. Someone who had used YouTube TV but had never bought Sunday Ticket might have qualified. A former Sunday Ticket subscriber, however, should not have assumed eligibility for the $48 price.

Eligibility could depend on the Google account used at checkout. YouTube’s guidance distinguishes new Sunday Ticket subscribers from returning subscribers, with the introductory rate applying only during the first season. See YouTube’s subscriber guidance for that distinction.
Did the deal require YouTube TV?
No—but only if the standalone Primetime Channels route was used.
YouTube TV add-on
The YouTube TV version required an active YouTube TV Base Plan. Sunday Ticket was an add-on, not a replacement for the live-TV service. YouTube’s current help page lists the Base Plan at $82.99 per month, although that current price should not be retroactively added to the 2025 promotion.

For a household that did not already have YouTube TV, the real cost was therefore more than $48: it included the separate live-TV subscription.
Standalone YouTube Primetime Channel
The Primetime Channels version did not require a YouTube TV Base Plan. It was the more relevant route for cord-cutters who wanted out-of-market football without paying for a broader live-TV package.
Neither route should be treated as a complete replacement for every NFL broadcast. YouTube explains the purchasing options at its NFL Sunday Ticket help page.

Which games did $48 include?
NFL Sunday Ticket primarily covers out-of-market Sunday afternoon regular-season games. The promotion covered the remaining eligible games in the 2025 regular season—not every remaining NFL game.
Sunday Ticket generally does not include:
- Sunday afternoon games broadcast locally in your market
- Thursday Night Football
- Sunday Night Football
- Monday Night Football
- Playoff games or the Super Bowl
- Local and national network programming outside the Sunday Ticket package
Local and nationally televised games may still require the relevant broadcast or streaming service. YouTube’s NFL Sunday Ticket FAQ explains these exclusions.
Was NFL RedZone included?
There is no evidence that RedZone was included in the advertised $48 price. RedZone is a separate add-on. YouTube’s 2026 announcement listed it at an additional $42 for that season, but that figure should not be presented as the 2025 Black Friday price. See YouTube’s RedZone information.

Automatic renewal was the biggest financial catch
Contemporaneous coverage warned that the discounted subscription could renew at the regular price for the following season unless the customer canceled future renewal.
That is different from immediately canceling access. A customer should check whether Sunday Ticket appears under YouTube TV or YouTube Primetime Channels, then review the Google account’s paid memberships and renewal settings. YouTube’s current billing documentation also says season passes generally have stricter cancellation and refund rules than month-to-month plans.

In practical terms:
- Canceling renewal is intended to prevent a future season’s charge.
- Canceling immediately may not produce a refund or end access at once.
- A payment plan does not necessarily mean later installments can simply be skipped.
The exact 2025 terms should have been confirmed in the checkout disclosure. Applicable taxes and account-specific charges also could have affected the final amount.

Was $48 a good deal?
It made the most sense for an existing YouTube TV subscriber who wanted several remaining Sunday afternoon games involving an out-of-market team. The standalone option could also make sense for someone who already had another way to receive local and national broadcasts.
It was a weaker fit for someone who:
- Needed a full live-TV package and had not budgeted for YouTube TV
- Wanted only one team or one game
- Expected local games, prime-time games or playoff coverage
- Mainly wanted RedZone
- Was likely to forget about automatic renewal
YouTube generally does not offer Sunday Ticket as a single-team or individual-game purchase, so the $48 price still represented a package commitment.
Is the $48 deal available now?
No. The reported promotion ended December 1, 2025. As of September 7, 2026, it should not be used as a current price or advertised as an active Black Friday offer.
YouTube’s separate 2026 announcement listed introductory season pricing of $192 through YouTube TV for new subscribers and $240 through Primetime Channels. Those are 2026 prices, not extensions of the expired $48 promotion. Check the official YouTube TV NFL Sunday Ticket page for current availability and checkout terms.
