Published 2025/26 estimates put Bruno Guimarães at roughly £150,000 to £160,000 gross per week. SalaryLeaks lists him level with Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali at £150,000, while an FBref table attributed to Capology and a July 2026 Bet365 article place Bruno at about £160,000 and the other three at £150,000. These are estimates, not salaries confirmed by Newcastle United.
Who was Newcastle’s highest-paid player in 2025/26?
Bruno Guimarães is the safest answer, but the evidence supports a range rather than one precise number. The published estimates reviewed place his gross weekly wage between £150,000 and £160,000. At £150,000, he is tied with Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali. At £160,000, he is the sole leader by £10,000 a week.

The difference comes from the source and update used, not from a confirmed change announced by the club. SalaryLeaks’ table, updated June 11, 2026, gives all four players £150,000 per week. FBref’s 2025/26 wage table, which attributes its figures to Capology, gives Bruno £160,000 and the other three £150,000. A Bet365 article updated in July 2026 also describes Bruno as earning around £160,000 and Joelinton £150,000.
Because Newcastle has not published individual 2025/26 player salaries in the reviewed official material, it would be inaccurate to present £160,000 as a confirmed contract figure.

Estimated weekly wages for the leading Newcastle players
The table below combines the season-specific estimates. “Annualized” is a simple 52-week multiplication to show scale; it is not a statement about contract length, bonuses or total compensation.
| Player | Estimated gross weekly wage | Simple 52-week equivalent | How the published estimates treat the figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bruno Guimarães | £150,000–£160,000 | £7.80m–£8.32m | SalaryLeaks gives £150,000; FBref/Capology and Bet365 give £160,000 or about £160,000. |
| Joelinton | £150,000 | £7.80m | SalaryLeaks and FBref/Capology list £150,000; Bet365 also reports £150,000. |
| Anthony Gordon | £150,000 | £7.80m | SalaryLeaks and FBref/Capology list £150,000. |
| Sandro Tonali | £150,000 | £7.80m | SalaryLeaks and FBref/Capology list £150,000. |
| Nick Woltemade | £140,000 | £7.28m | SalaryLeaks estimate; its position summary calls him the highest-paid forward. |
| Yoane Wissa | £140,000 | £7.28m | SalaryLeaks estimate. |
| Sven Botman | £140,000 | £7.28m | SalaryLeaks estimate; its position summary calls him the highest-paid defender. |
| Aaron Ramsdale | £120,000 | £6.24m | SalaryLeaks estimate; its position summary calls him the highest-paid goalkeeper. |
| Jacob Ramsey | £120,000 | £6.24m | SalaryLeaks estimate. |
| Kieran Trippier | £120,000 | £6.24m | SalaryLeaks estimate. |
All weekly amounts in this table are reported as gross estimates. Gross pay is the figure before tax and other deductions; it should not be read as a player’s take-home amount.
Why the rankings differ between sources
SalaryLeaks shows a four-way tie
SalaryLeaks’ Newcastle table, last updated June 11, 2026, lists Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali at £150,000 per week. On that dataset, there is no single highest-paid player: the four are joint leaders.
The same database places Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa and Sven Botman at £140,000, followed by Aaron Ramsdale, Jacob Ramsey and Kieran Trippier at £120,000. SalaryLeaks also estimates total squad salaries at £115.6 million for the season. That total is a database estimate, not an audited player-wage disclosure from Newcastle.
FBref and Capology put Bruno slightly ahead
FBref’s 2025/26 wage table attributes its data to Capology and lists Bruno at £160,000 per week. Joelinton, Gordon and Tonali are each listed at £150,000. FBref marks Joelinton’s figure as an unverified estimation, illustrating that a number can appear in a detailed table without being contractually confirmed by the club or player.
A later article repeats the higher Bruno estimate
A Bet365 article updated in July 2026, after the 2025/26 campaign, describes the amounts as gross weekly pay and reports Bruno at around £160,000 and Joelinton at £150,000. It also carries the explicit warning that salary figures provided by Capology are estimates and do not represent official figures.

These sources agree on the leading group and differ mainly on Bruno’s exact position within it. The responsible conclusion is therefore a range and a qualified ranking, not a false single-number precision.

The most useful comparison has four parts: the weekly amount, the source and its update date, whether the source shows a tie or a solo leader, and whether the entry is labelled estimated or unverified. Looking at only one number hides why lists can disagree while still describing the same payroll structure.
SalaryLeaks is the only listed source that supplies a broader Newcastle salary table and a season total. Its June 11, 2026 update places four players together at £150,000, three at £140,000 and three at £120,000 among the names shown here. FBref presents a season-specific table attributed to Capology and separates Bruno at £160,000. Bet365’s July 2026 update is later than the campaign and repeats the Capology-based higher Bruno figure. None of those dates turns an estimate into an official contract disclosure.
The spread is easier to understand in annualized terms. The £10,000 weekly difference between the two Bruno estimates equals £520,000 over 52 weeks. The £30,000 gap between the £150,000 group and the £120,000 group equals £1.56 million on the same simple calculation. Bruno’s possible £160,000 figure is £40,000 above £120,000, or £2.08 million across 52 weeks. These are arithmetic illustrations only; they do not establish guaranteed annual earnings.
What “weekly wage” means in these estimates
It is gross, not take-home pay
The £150,000–£160,000 figures describe gross weekly pay. A player’s net amount would depend on income tax, National Insurance, pension arrangements and other personal deductions. None of the cited estimates provides a personal take-home calculation, so the published gross figure is the only defensible comparison.
It is not automatically total football compensation
The sources do not establish whether every amount includes appearance bonuses, goal or assist incentives, signing payments, image-rights arrangements, loyalty payments or other clauses. Do not add those items to the weekly figure, and do not assume they are included. The table is best understood as an estimated recurring wage figure supplied by third-party databases.
Rank #3
It is not an official contract disclosure
Newcastle United has not issued a named statement confirming an individual 2025/26 salary in the material reviewed. A database estimate can be useful for comparing reported pay levels, but it cannot prove the exact terms of a private employment contract.
Where these players fit in the 2025/26 squad
The Premier League’s updated 2025/26 squad list includes Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton, Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, Sven Botman and Nick Woltemade, among the names appearing in the wage estimates. The league list provides roster context only; it does not publish player salaries.
SalaryLeaks’ position summaries identify Woltemade as the highest-paid forward at £140,000 per week, Botman as the highest-paid defender at £140,000 and Ramsdale as the highest-paid goalkeeper at £120,000. Those labels describe the ordering within that database and should not be treated as official club classifications or payroll confirmations.

How much is the estimated squad payroll?
SalaryLeaks gives Newcastle’s estimated total salaries as £115.6 million for the season. The figure is presented as an estimated first-team squad salary total and was current when the database was updated on June 11, 2026.
That number should not be confused with an audited wage bill in Newcastle United Limited’s accounts. It is also not a measure of the club’s entire football budget: transfer fees, employer taxes, bonuses, staff costs and other football expenses are separate questions. The database total is useful as an indication of the scale implied by its player-by-player estimates, not as an official accounting figure.
Why the club accounts cannot settle the 2025/26 question
The reviewed Newcastle United Limited financial statements cover the year ended June 30, 2025. That reporting period ended before most of the 2025/26 season, so it cannot provide a definitive individual wage for the season in this article’s title.
Rank #4
Even when football-club accounts report aggregate staff costs, they generally do not provide a named salary for each player. In this case, the reviewed accounts do not supply an individual 2025/26 figure for Bruno, Joelinton, Gordon, Tonali or any other player listed above. The Premier League squad registration list has the same limitation: it confirms who was registered, not what each person earned.

- Mixing seasons: A current wage list may reflect a renewal, transfer or promotion after 2025/26. Keep the season in the headline and table.
- Calling a gross figure net: £150,000 is not the amount deposited after deductions.
- Treating a database as a contract: Capology-attributed and SalaryLeaks figures are estimates, and FBref marks at least one entry as unverified.
- Adding bonuses without evidence: The cited sources do not state which incentives or image-rights payments are included.
- Reading the £115.6 million total as audited accounts: It is SalaryLeaks’ estimated first-team total, not a Newcastle accounting disclosure.
How to answer the “highest-paid” question accurately
- Use the season qualifier. Say 2025/26, because wages can change after a transfer, renewal, promotion, relegation or new bonus arrangement.
- Give Bruno’s range. The defensible headline is approximately £150,000–£160,000 gross per week.
- Explain the ranking difference. SalaryLeaks shows Bruno tied with Joelinton, Gordon and Tonali at £150,000; FBref/Capology and Bet365 place Bruno around £160,000.
- Label the figures as estimates. They come from third-party salary databases and reporting, not a Newcastle salary statement.
- Avoid net-pay language. “Take-home” or “after tax” would claim information the sources do not provide.
What readers should take from the figures
The leading group is tightly clustered. Depending on the source, Bruno is either level with three teammates or £10,000 a week ahead of them. At the lower end of the listed top earners, Ramsdale, Ramsey and Trippier are estimated at £120,000 per week, a £30,000 difference from the £150,000 group and £40,000 below the £160,000 Bruno estimate.
Those gaps are meaningful in annualized terms, but the arithmetic remains illustrative. A £10,000 weekly difference multiplied by 52 weeks is £520,000; it does not prove that one player’s annual contract value exceeds another’s by exactly that amount because bonuses, clauses, tax treatment and contract duration are not established here.
For a concise answer, describe Bruno Guimarães as Newcastle’s reported 2025/26 top earner at roughly £150,000–£160,000 gross per week, with Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali around £150,000. That wording preserves what the published estimates agree on while making the uncertainty visible.

What does £150,000 a week equal over a year?
A simple 52-week calculation gives £7.8 million before tax. It is an illustration, not a guaranteed annual contract value, because bonuses, clauses and contract length are not established.
Who is Newcastle’s highest-paid defender, forward and goalkeeper?
SalaryLeaks’ position summaries list Sven Botman as the highest-paid defender at £140,000 per week, Nick Woltemade as the highest-paid forward at £140,000, and Aaron Ramsdale as the highest-paid goalkeeper at £120,000.
Why do wage lists put Bruno Guimarães at different amounts?
The lists use different datasets and update points. SalaryLeaks’ June 11, 2026 table gives Bruno £150,000, while FBref’s 2025/26 table attributed to Capology and a Bet365 article updated in July 2026 report £160,000 or around £160,000.

How large is Newcastle’s estimated 2025/26 salary bill?
SalaryLeaks estimates first-team squad salaries at £115.6 million for the season. That is a database estimate, not an audited player-only total in Newcastle United Limited’s accounts.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Bruno Guimarães was reported as Newcastle United’s 2025/26 highest-paid player at roughly £150,000–£160,000 gross per week. SalaryLeaks shows a four-way £150,000 tie with Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, while FBref/Capology and Bet365 place Bruno around £160,000. Every figure is an estimate rather than an official club salary disclosure.
