Ment Funding Review: Scam or Good Prop Trading Firm?

Ment Funding may be a real prop-trading program, but a large advertised account is not cash you control. Here is how to assess its payouts, rules, fees, and risks before buying.

Short answer: I would not call Ment Funding a scam without verified evidence of fraud, but I also would not treat it as a conventional brokerage or assume that a displayed “funded” balance is withdrawable cash. A prop-firm purchase is usually a fee-based assessment followed by simulated trading, with payouts controlled by the firm’s contract, risk rules, identity checks, and audit process.

The sensible verdict is unproven until independently verified. Before paying Ment Funding, confirm the legal company, current rules, refund terms, payout evidence, platform arrangement, and whether the account is simulated or live. If those details are difficult to verify, the risk is too high for most personal-finance budgets.

What Ment Funding appears to sell

Ment Funding should be evaluated as a proprietary-trading program rather than as a bank, broker, or investment account. The usual structure in this industry is:

  1. You pay for an evaluation or challenge.
  2. You trade under a specified profit target and drawdown limit.
  3. If you meet the conditions, you receive access to a “funded” account.
  4. You request a share of eligible profits, subject to payout and conduct rules.

The advertised account size is not the same as money deposited in your name. A “$50,000 account,” for example, may give you only a few thousand dollars of permitted loss, and the trading environment may be simulated. That distinction matters: you generally do not own the account balance, and a profitable screen does not by itself create an unconditional debt owed to you.

Scam or legitimate business?

There are three separate questions that are often blurred together:

Question What it means
Does the company exist? There should be a clearly identified legal entity, address, support channel, and terms of service.
Does it operate a real prop program? It should explain its challenge, trading environment, fees, risk limits, and payout process.
Is it a good deal for you? That depends on the rules, failure rate, recurring charges, payout history, and your trading discipline.

A firm can be a real operating business and still offer a poor or highly one-sided contract. Conversely, a handful of online complaints do not automatically prove fraud. The strongest warning signs are not ordinary losing-trader reviews; they are unverifiable company details, changing rules, unexplained payout denials, pressure to buy immediately, and refusal to state whether trading is simulated.

What to verify before buying

1. The legal counterparty

Read the Terms of Service, not just the homepage. Identify the exact company accepting your payment, its governing law, dispute process, and any arbitration clause. Search the legal name in the relevant corporate registry. A brand name alone is not enough.

2. Whether trading is simulated

Look for explicit language about simulated, demo, hypothetical, or live trading. Ask support this direct question:

“When I trade the evaluation or funded account, are my orders sent to a live exchange, or are they simulated? If simulated, under what conditions can I move to a live account?”

Save the written answer. A live-market data feed or professional-looking platform does not prove that your orders are being executed with real capital.

  • DIGITAL MONEY MANAGEMENT FILE INCLUDED : calculate your risk/reward ratio and win rate to find out whether you have a mathematical edge on the market, or not.

3. The drawdown calculation

This is usually more important than the advertised profit target. Determine:

  • Whether the limit trails your highest balance or highest unrealized profit.
  • Whether it is calculated intraday or only at the end of the day.
  • Whether commissions and fees count toward the limit.
  • When the drawdown stops moving, if it ever does.
  • What happens when you breach it by a small amount.

For example, a $50,000 account with a $2,500 drawdown may leave only $2,500 of practical risk capacity. If the limit trails an open position’s peak profit, a trade can briefly move in your favor, raise the threshold, and then breach the account when it reverses—even if the trade eventually would have recovered.

4. Payout conditions

Do not rely on a headline such as “90% profit split.” Check the complete payout section for:

  • Minimum trading days.
  • Minimum profit per day.
  • Consistency or concentration rules.
  • Safety-net requirements.
  • Maximum payout per cycle or account.
  • Waiting periods and review times.
  • Identity verification requirements.
  • Rules that permit the firm to deny, reduce, or delay a payout.

Pay particular attention to vague language such as “professional conduct,” “strategy consistency,” “unsustainable trading,” or “at the firm’s sole discretion.” Those clauses may be enforceable or may be disputed, but either way they create uncertainty that should be priced into your decision.

5. Fees and renewal mechanics

Calculate the cost of failure, not only the initial challenge price. Include:

  • Monthly subscriptions or automatic renewals.
  • Reset charges.
  • Activation fees after passing.
  • Platform and market-data fees.
  • Payment-processing or withdrawal fees.
  • Taxes on payouts.

Check whether a passed evaluation continues billing until you activate it, and whether cancellation stops the next charge or merely prevents a later renewal. Take screenshots of the checkout page and cancellation confirmation.

How to assess Ment Funding’s payout claims

Testimonials on a company website are marketing, not independent verification. A stronger review process is:

  1. Find several payout reports from unrelated traders, not copied screenshots from the same affiliate network.
  2. Check whether the reports identify the account type, purchase date, requested amount, and time to payment.
  3. Compare those reports with recent complaints, especially complaints involving second or later payouts.
  4. Read the firm’s public responses and determine whether they cite a specific rule or merely accuse the customer of misconduct.
  5. Ask support what happens to a profitable account during a payout audit and request the answer in writing.

No review sample proves that your payout will be approved. It can, however, reveal whether the business routinely changes terms, closes accounts without a stated rule, or makes customers complete additional purchases before withdrawing.

Common risks that can make a “funded” account expensive

Trailing drawdown

A trailing limit can turn a normal pullback into a breach. Traders who size positions based on the nominal account balance often underestimate this risk.

News and overnight restrictions

Some programs prohibit holding positions through economic releases, market closures, or weekends. Others permit it only on certain plans. A strategy that works in a personal futures or forex account may violate the prop firm’s rules.

Inconsistent position sizing

A firm may allow discretion but still reject trading it considers reckless, manipulative, or unscalable. Large one-day gains followed by very small trades can trigger a consistency review even when no posted daily loss limit was breached.

Copy trading and multiple accounts

Account mirroring, trade copiers, automated systems, and trading for another person may be restricted. Never assume that copying your own trades across accounts is permitted. Obtain written approval for the exact software and setup.

Rule changes

Terms can change between challenge purchase and payout request. Save the rules in force on the purchase date, including linked policies and promotional conditions. If the contract says the firm can modify rules immediately, that is a material risk.

A practical decision process

  1. Set a loss budget. Treat every challenge fee, renewal, reset, and activation charge as money you may lose. Do not use rent, emergency savings, or borrowed funds.
  2. Read the full contract. Search the page for “payout,” “simulated,” “termination,” “refund,” “discretion,” “arbitration,” and “breach.”
  3. Model the drawdown. Write down the exact balance at which the account fails after a winning trade, an open-profit reversal, commissions, and a normal losing day.
  4. Test support. Ask five specific questions about simulation, payout timing, renewals, news trading, and prohibited strategies. Vague answers are evidence of operational risk.
  5. Start with the smallest suitable plan. Do not buy several accounts to compensate for a strategy that has not been tested.
  6. Keep records. Save receipts, rules, account history, support tickets, payout requests, and screenshots.
  7. Stop if the economics no longer work. Repeated resets can cost more than developing a strategy in a regulated personal account or using a low-cost simulator.

Who might consider it—and who should avoid it?

Ment Funding may be worth investigating for an experienced trader who understands futures or forex risk, can follow mechanical limits, and regards the fee as speculative spending. Even then, the trader should be comfortable with simulated trading and the possibility that a payout review may involve judgment rather than a simple balance calculation.

It is a poor fit for someone who needs guaranteed income, cannot afford repeated fees, relies on high-risk martingale sizing, holds positions overnight without checking the plan, or believes the advertised account size is available cash. A prop challenge is not a substitute for an emergency fund, retirement saving, or a regulated brokerage account.

Bottom line on Ment Funding

There is not enough verified information here to give Ment Funding a confident “good firm” endorsement. Nor is a cautious verdict the same as calling it a scam. The appropriate conclusion is high-risk and requiring due diligence.

Only proceed after confirming the legal entity, simulated-versus-live status, drawdown formula, payout rules, renewal charges, refund policy, and recent independent payout evidence. If those details are missing, contradictory, or easy to find only in promotional material, keep your money out. The most important question is not whether a prop firm advertises a large account; it is whether its written contract gives you a clear, realistic, and repeatable route from trading performance to an actual withdrawal.

FAQ

Is Ment Funding a scam?

There is not enough independently verified information to label it a scam or to endorse it as a dependable prop firm. Treat it as a high-risk fee-based trading program until you verify its legal entity, terms, payout history, and operating model.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are prop-firm funded accounts real money?

Often, challenge and “funded” stages are simulated. The account size shown on the dashboard is usually a program limit, not cash held in your brokerage account. Read the firm’s disclosure to confirm the arrangement.

Can Ment Funding deny a payout?

Any prop firm can make payouts conditional on its contract. Review rules covering drawdown, consistency, prohibited strategies, identity verification, minimum trading days, and audit discretion before purchasing.

What should I ask Ment Funding before paying?

Ask whether orders are simulated, how drawdown is calculated, what triggers a payout, whether fees renew automatically, what causes termination, whether copying or automation is allowed, and the exact refund procedure. Request written answers.

Are prop-firm fees tax deductible?

That depends on your country, tax status, and whether trading is a business activity. Keep receipts and consult a qualified tax professional rather than assuming challenge or reset fees are deductible.

The Bottom Line

Verdict: Ment Funding should be treated as unverified and high risk, not automatically as a scam and not as a guaranteed route to income. Verify the contract and payout mechanics before spending anything, and risk only money you can afford to lose.
