Best fit: a small-business owner who regularly pays for IHG stays, can use the card’s hotel and travel benefits, and can meet the welcome-offer spending requirement with planned purchases. The card is a weaker choice if you rarely stay at IHG properties, would manufacture spending to earn points, or cannot use enough benefits to justify a $200 annual fee.
This review covers the current IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card, the product formerly marketed as the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card. Chase’s former Premier Business web address now redirects to the current Business card page. The offer and terms below were checked October 13, 2026; issuer offers, fees and benefit details can change.

What changed from the Premier Business card?
IHG’s 2026 portfolio announcement identifies the current product as the IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card and says it was previously known as the Premier Business card. Existing cardmembers should not assume that every new benefit started on the same day. IHG said cardmembers would receive an October notice explaining which new or enhanced benefits apply to their account and the effective date for each update. It also said annual fees would be adjusted in 2027, without publishing one universal change date for every legacy account.

Current offer and annual fee
| Item | Current figure or rule | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome offer | 190,000 IHG One Rewards points | After $5,000 in purchases during the first three months, according to Chase’s page checked October 13, 2026 |
| Annual fee | $200 | Amount displayed on Chase’s current Business card page on October 13, 2026; offers and fees can change |
| Offer availability | May vary by application channel | Verify the exact offer shown when you apply |
The welcome offer is useful only if the $5,000 threshold fits your normal business cash flow. Chase excludes transactions such as balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions, gambling transactions, fees and other listed categories from eligible purchases. The account must remain open and not be in default when the bonus is fulfilled. Do not buy items you would not otherwise purchase merely to reach the threshold.
IHG points have no retail value and cannot be redeemed for cash. Therefore, the 190,000-point headline is not a guaranteed dollar amount. Its practical value depends on the IHG properties, dates and award prices available when you redeem.
How the card earns points
| Purchase type | Card earning rate | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Qualifying purchases at participating IHG hotels | 10 points per $1 | Use a qualifying purchase at a participating property; posting and transaction eligibility matter |
| Listed bonus categories | 5 points per $1 | Includes dining, gas stations, and social-media or search-engine advertising as specified by Chase |
| Other purchases | 3 points per $1 | Applies outside the published hotel and bonus categories, subject to transaction rules |
IHG advertises up to 26 points per dollar on IHG stays, but that is a combined figure rather than the card’s own rate. The components are up to 10 points from the card, up to 10 points from IHG member earning, and up to 6 points from Platinum Elite status. Actual stay earning can vary by brand and by whether the reservation uses a qualifying booking channel. A business owner should not assume every IHG charge produces 26 points.

IHG-specific benefits in the current package
Automatic Platinum Elite status
The 2026 IHG update describes automatic Platinum Elite status for this card. Status can improve the return from eligible IHG stays through the program’s elite earning and treatment, but the usefulness depends on how often you stay and which benefits are available at the property. It is not a substitute for choosing a hotel with a competitive cash rate or convenient location.

15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year
Cardmembers receive 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year under the 2026 benefit description. These credits can help a traveler progress toward IHG status without physically staying all of those nights. They reset on a calendar-year basis, so the timing of an application can affect how much of the current year remains to use them.
Fourth Reward Night free
On a qualifying consecutive four-night IHG points stay, the fourth Reward Night is free. The benefit applies to eligible award reservations rather than ordinary paid stays. Check the reservation’s eligibility and the hotel’s cancellation deadline before treating the free night as guaranteed savings.
IHG Food & Beverage Rewards
IHG lists up to $100 per year in IHG Food & Beverage Rewards. This is a use-based benefit, not automatic cash. You must make eligible direct purchases and follow the current terms. If you rarely dine at participating IHG properties, count only the amount you realistically expect to use.
Airline statement credit
The refreshed package includes a $100 annual airline statement credit. Chase’s live terms govern eligible purchases and other restrictions. Do not value the credit at $100 unless your normal business or personal travel includes qualifying airline charges you would make anyway.
Expensify statement credit
IHG’s announcement lists up to $100 annually toward Expensify purchases. The credit is subject to the issuer’s eligibility and direct-purchase requirements. It is most relevant to a business that already pays for an eligible Expensify service; subscribing solely to use a credit can erase its value.

Who should get the IHG One Rewards Business card?
Business owners with regular IHG stays
The strongest candidate has recurring IHG hotel spend for work trips, projects or a company travel policy. The 10-points-per-dollar hotel category, automatic Platinum Elite status, annual Elite Night Credits and fourth-night-free award benefit all become more useful when the business already concentrates stays within IHG’s portfolio.
Applicants who can meet the bonus naturally
The 190,000-point offer requires $5,000 in eligible purchases in the first three months. A business with predictable inventory, advertising, travel or operating expenses may meet that threshold without changing its purchasing behavior. If the threshold would require personal borrowing, unnecessary purchases or paying avoidable fees, the offer is not a good reason to apply.
Travelers who can use the recurring credits
A cardmember who will use qualifying airline purchases, IHG food-and-beverage spending and eligible Expensify charges can capture more of the annual package. Use conservative estimates: a credit that requires a trip, restaurant visit or software subscription you would not otherwise make has less than face-value utility.
Owners who value IHG status over flexible points
This card is specialized. It makes more sense when IHG is a preferred hotel program and the Platinum Elite status and award-night benefit affect real bookings. If your employees stay across many hotel chains or you want points that transfer broadly, the card’s IHG concentration may be a disadvantage.
Who should probably skip it?
- Infrequent IHG guests: Without enough IHG stays, the hotel earning rate, status and fourth-night benefit may sit unused.
- Travelers who cannot use the credits: The food-and-beverage, airline and Expensify benefits should not be counted at face value if your normal spending does not qualify.
- Applicants stretching to reach $5,000: Interest, fees or unwanted purchases can outweigh a welcome bonus.
- People seeking cash value: IHG points are not redeemable for cash and have no stated retail value.
- Businesses that need broad rewards: The card’s best return is tied to IHG and specific bonus categories, not every type of business spending.

- List IHG stays you already expect to book. Note the likely cash rates, award-night prices and whether any trip could be a qualifying four-night points stay.
- Estimate usable recurring credits. Include only airline, IHG food-and-beverage and Expensify purchases you would make without the card. Apply the current terms to determine whether each transaction qualifies.
- Assign a conservative value to status and Elite Night Credits. Consider the actual nights you will stay and the benefit you expect to receive, rather than assigning a universal dollar amount.
- Model the fourth-night benefit on real dates. Check whether a four-night award is available and compare the points required with the cash price. Hotel award pricing and availability can change.
- Subtract the $200 annual fee. If the remaining value depends on speculative trips, unavailable award nights or manufactured spending, treat the card as a poor fit.
There is no independent points-to-cash valuation established for this card in the official materials. Compare actual IHG redemption options instead of relying on a fixed cents-per-point assumption.
How to apply without missing the bonus terms
- Review the live Chase application page. Confirm the displayed annual fee, bonus amount, spending threshold and three-month period before submitting an application.
- Check your business spending calendar. Identify eligible purchases that will post during the first three months. Allow for the difference between the purchase date and the date a transaction posts to the account.
- Exclude ineligible transactions. Do not count balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions, gambling transactions, fees or other excluded categories listed in the current terms.
- Track progress from the account opening date. Keep invoices and statements so you can reconcile eligible purchases and avoid relying on a merchant’s description alone.
- Keep the account open and in good standing. Chase says these conditions apply to fulfillment of the welcome offer.
Because application-channel offers can differ, save a copy of the terms shown with your application. A later change to the public page does not necessarily describe the offer you accepted.

Compare cash and points on your dates
IHG points have no fixed retail value. For each proposed stay, compare the points required, taxes or charges shown at checkout, the cash price and the cancellation rules. A high cash rate can make an award attractive; a low cash rate can make paying cash preferable.
Understand fourth-night cancellation risk
IHG’s terms generally provide for points to be redeposited when a Reward Night is canceled before the hotel’s cancellation deadline. A late cancellation or no-show may trigger a charge under the hotel’s policy. The exact deadline can differ by property and rate, so read the reservation terms rather than assuming every award has the same rule.

Do not treat points as emergency cash
Points cannot be redeemed for cash. Keep sufficient cash or another payment method for business expenses, taxes, incidentals and stays where award availability is poor.

Transition guidance for existing Premier Business cardmembers
Existing cardmembers should rely on their October 2026 notification and account agreement for timing. IHG’s announcement says the notice will identify the effective date for each new or enhanced benefit. It does not establish one date on which all accounts receive every change.
Annual fees are expected to be adjusted in 2027, but the announcement does not state a universal effective date or amount for every legacy account. Before the next renewal, check the fee disclosure, benefit terms and any message from Chase or IHG attached to your account. If the revised package no longer matches your travel pattern, compare the fee with the benefits you can actually use before deciding whether to keep the card.
Practical strengths and weaknesses
| Strength | Why it matters | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Large welcome offer | 190,000 points can accelerate an IHG-focused travel plan | Requires $5,000 in eligible first-three-month spending; offer can change |
| High IHG earning | 10 points per $1 on qualifying participating-hotel purchases | Hotel and booking-channel eligibility rules apply; up to 26X is a combined, not card-only, figure |
| Automatic Platinum Elite status | Useful for travelers who regularly stay with IHG | Limited value for infrequent or non-IHG travelers |
| 15 Elite Night Credits | Can reduce the number of nights needed to pursue status | Credits are calendar-year benefits and do not create value if unused |
| Fourth Reward Night free | Can reduce points required on an eligible four-night award stay | Requires a qualifying consecutive four-night points reservation and available award space |
| Annual credits | Up to $100 in IHG food-and-beverage rewards, $100 airline credit and up to $100 toward Expensify | Use, eligibility and direct-purchase restrictions apply; maximums are not guaranteed cash value |
| Business-oriented categories | 5 points per $1 includes dining, gas stations and social-media/search-engine advertising | Merchant coding and posting dates can affect category treatment |
Bottom line: a targeted card, not a universal business card
The IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card is most compelling for a business owner who already has meaningful IHG hotel spend, can use the card’s recurring credits and status benefits, and can complete the welcome-offer requirement through ordinary eligible purchases. Its value is concentrated in IHG stays and real-world use of the benefits, not in a guaranteed cash-equivalent points value.
Recommended Free Tools
Choose cautiously if you stay at IHG only occasionally, cannot use the airline, food-and-beverage or Expensify credits, or would alter your spending to earn 190,000 points. Existing Premier Business cardmembers should make the decision using their October notice and 2027 fee disclosure, because benefit effective dates and future annual fees can differ by account.
