The current Walmart-branded rewards card is the OnePay CashRewards Card. Walmart currently advertises unlimited 5% cash back at Walmart for Walmart+ members, 3% at Walmart for customers without Walmart+, and 1.5% on other purchases. The rewards are issued as OnePay points, which you redeem in the OnePay app for a deposit to a OnePay deposit account, a statement credit, or an available digital gift card. You need at least 25 points to redeem, and a statement credit can take one to two billing cycles to appear.
Those rules are separate from Walmart Cash, from rewards that some other issuers may show at Walmart checkout, and from the discontinued Capital One Walmart consumer-card partnership. The product, rates and redemption choices can change, so check the current Walmart card product page and Walmart card FAQ before applying or redeeming.

What Walmart credit card rewards are available now?
Walmart’s current card materials present the OnePay CashRewards Card as the cash-back product. Its rewards are tracked as OnePay points rather than as Walmart Cash. The percentages below are Walmart’s advertised rates as of October 10, 2026; they are product terms, not an independent estimate of value.

Walmart describes the 5% and 3% Walmart rates as unlimited in its current card materials. “At Walmart” is the category used by the issuer’s terms; do not assume that every transaction involving a Walmart-branded service, a third-party marketplace seller or a particular payment method receives the same rate. Read the card agreement and disclosures shown with your application for category definitions and exclusions.

The current rate and eligibility descriptions are in Walmart’s OnePay card options page and its Walmart+ 5% cashback FAQ. Because card pricing and eligibility can change, use those live pages rather than an older article or a remembered Capital One offer.
OnePay CashRewards Card versus the OnePay Walmart Spend Card
Walmart’s current product pages distinguish two OnePay card products. The CashRewards Card is the one associated with the advertised cash-back rates. The OnePay Walmart Spend Card is a separate product and is described as having no standard cash back program. Applying for or holding the Spend Card therefore does not automatically give you the CashRewards Card’s 5%, 3% or 1.5% rewards.

Confirm the exact product name in the application and account interface. Treating the Spend Card as if it were the CashRewards Card is one of the easiest ways to overestimate the rewards you will earn.

Rewards earned with the CashRewards Card are represented as OnePay points. The points are tied to the OnePay rewards system and are redeemed through OnePay’s interface; they are not the same currency as Walmart Cash. The issuer’s published redemption guide says, “You can redeem your OnePay Points in the OnePay app once you have at least 25 points available.”

The 25-point rule is a minimum available balance, not a promise that every destination is available to every customer. OnePay says the app will show the eligible destinations for your account. The available choices described in its guide are:
- A deposit into a OnePay deposit account.
- A statement credit applied to the applicable card.
- An available digital gift card for eligible customers.
OnePay’s guide covers redemption mechanics, eligibility and timing at Redeeming OnePay Rewards Points. It does not establish a universal cash value for every possible redemption destination, so review the amount displayed in the app before confirming.
How to redeem OnePay points in the app
Use the following path for rewards earned through the OnePay CashRewards Card:

- Open the OnePay app and sign in to the account connected to the card.
- Tap your points balance or the Rewards page. The label can depend on the current app version.
- Choose “Redeem.” If fewer than 25 points are available, the app will not meet the published minimum for redemption.
- Enter the amount you want to use. Check the displayed points deduction and destination details before proceeding.
- Select an eligible destination: a OnePay deposit account, a statement credit to the applicable card, or an available digital gift card.
- Review and confirm. OnePay says a completed statement-credit redemption cannot be canceled.
A statement credit is not necessarily immediate. OnePay says it can take one to two billing cycles to post. Continue making at least the required payment shown on your card statement while you wait; a pending redemption should not be treated as a payment already credited to the account.

If a gift card or deposit option is missing, that means it is not currently available to your account under the app’s eligibility rules. Do not substitute Walmart Cash instructions or assume that a missing option can be forced by contacting Walmart checkout support; the OnePay help center and your card account control the rewards redemption.
Can you use card rewards at Walmart checkout?
Walmart’s checkout can display an eligible rewards payment option for some issuer programs. This is a separate path from redeeming OnePay points in the OnePay app. Seeing a rewards option at checkout does not mean every card’s points can be used there, and it does not make Walmart the issuer of those rewards.
When a checkout rewards option appears:
- Look for the issuer-specific rewards payment choice on the payment step.
- Read the issuer’s displayed terms, including the redemption rate and the amount of rewards that will be used.
- Confirm the order only after checking whether rewards are debited when the order is placed, fulfilled or shipped.
- Save the order confirmation and monitor the issuer account for the final debit.
Walmart’s Walmart.com Terms of Use state that an issuer may debit rewards when an order is fulfilled or shipped, or within five business days, depending on the program. The issuer determines the redemption rate and timing. Walmart’s general checkout language therefore cannot be used to promise a particular value or posting date for a particular card.
OnePay points are not Walmart Cash
Walmart Cash is a separate promotional currency. Walmart says Walmart Cash can be used toward eligible future Walmart purchases and may be cashed out in a store under Walmart Cash’s own rules. OnePay points, by contrast, are rewards tied to the OnePay card or OnePay account and are handled in the OnePay app.

The former Capital One Walmart Rewards program is historical context, not a description of the current OnePay product. On May 24, 2024, Capital One and Walmart announced the end of their consumer card partnership. Their announcement said existing cardholders could continue using their cards and earning and redeeming rewards at that time, while Capital One retained ownership and servicing of the accounts.
That announcement does not establish the present-day terms of every legacy account. If you still have a Capital One Walmart account, use the account-specific agreement, statements and messages from Capital One. Do not assume that the old earning rates, redemption destinations or servicing arrangements carried over to the OnePay CashRewards Card.

For context, Walmart’s 2019 launch announcement for the former Capital One Walmart Rewards Mastercard described the following rates:

Those figures came from Walmart’s September 18, 2019 launch announcement. They should not be used to calculate rewards on a current OnePay card. The partnership-ending announcement is available from Capital One.
Which redemption route fits your situation?
You have the current OnePay CashRewards Card
Use the OnePay app once your available balance reaches 25 points. Compare the destination shown in the app: a OnePay deposit, a statement credit or an eligible digital gift card. Choose based on the value and timing displayed for your account, and remember that a statement credit may take one to two billing cycles.
You have the OnePay Walmart Spend Card
Do not expect the CashRewards Card’s standard cash back. Check the Spend Card’s current terms and any promotion attached to your account. The current Walmart FAQ describes the Spend Card as having no standard cash back program.

Sign in to the Capital One account that services the card and read its current rewards terms. The 2024 partnership announcement described treatment at that time but is not a substitute for the agreement governing your individual legacy account.
You see rewards during Walmart checkout
Follow the issuer’s checkout disclosure, not the OnePay app procedure. The issuer controls the rate and the timing of the rewards debit, which may occur at fulfillment, shipment or within five business days depending on the program.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Using the wrong product rate: Verify that the account is the CashRewards Card, not the Spend Card.
- Ignoring Walmart+ status: The advertised Walmart earn rate differs between Walmart+ members and non-members.
- Confusing points with Walmart Cash: Open the OnePay Rewards page for card points; use Walmart’s separate Walmart Cash rules for promotional currency.
- Expecting an instant statement credit: OnePay allows one to two billing cycles for posting and says a completed redemption cannot be canceled.
- Applying old Capital One rates to a new card: The 2019 figures belong to the former program and are not current OnePay terms.
- Assuming checkout works for every issuer: Walmart says availability, rate and timing depend on the applicable issuer program.
- Redeeming below the threshold: OnePay requires at least 25 available points.
What to check before applying or redeeming
Because financial-product terms and availability can change, check these items in the live account or application flow:
- The exact product name and current advertised earn rates.
- Whether your Walmart+ membership is active and linked as required for the advertised 5% rate.
- The purchase-category definitions and exclusions in the card agreement.
- The destinations currently offered in your OnePay app.
- The points balance and the 25-point minimum before starting a redemption.
- The estimated posting time for a statement credit and the notice that a completed redemption cannot be canceled.
- For a legacy Capital One account, the current issuer-specific agreement rather than historical Walmart advertising.
The practical rule is simple: use the OnePay app for OnePay points, Walmart’s separate system for Walmart Cash, and the applicable issuer’s terms for rewards offered at checkout. Those three pathways can appear in the same shopping experience, but they are not interchangeable.
