You register or change the withdrawal account in Rakuten e-NAVI, then use the Rakuten Card app and e-NAVI email settings to receive card-use and account notices. Registering a new account online by the 10th at 21:59 can generally make that account apply to the same month’s withdrawal; postal registration usually takes about one to two months.
This guide shows the exact setup paths, explains what each alert means, and gives recovery steps when a notification is late, missing, or unexpected.

What “autopay” means for a Rakuten Card
Rakuten Card does not use a separate wallet-style autopay switch for its monthly bill. The normal arrangement is 口座振替 (direct debit): Rakuten Card presents the finalized bill to the bank account registered for the selected card, and the bank withdraws the amount on the scheduled date.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThere are two separate jobs to complete:
- Set the funding account: Register or change the bank account in Rakuten e-NAVI.
- Monitor activity and dates: Turn on app notifications, email notifications, and review the e-NAVI/app message box.
A use alert is not proof that the monthly debit succeeded. It is an authorization or use notice, while the finalized statement and your bank transaction record are what confirm the amount and completion of the withdrawal.
#1 Best Overall
Before you start
Have the following ready before opening e-NAVI:
- Your Rakuten e-NAVI login and the card you want to configure.
- The bank account you want Rakuten Card to debit.
- Access to the bank’s online authentication method, such as its login, one-time password, or other identity check.
- The exact account-holder name registered with the bank. The issuer checks that the name meets its requirements.
- A balance plan: money must be in the registered account before the scheduled withdrawal.
If you hold more than one Rakuten Card, select the intended card first. Card accounts can have separate payment-account settings, so changing one card does not necessarily change the others.
Set up or change the bank account in Rakuten e-NAVI
1. Sign in and select the payment-account function
- Sign in to Rakuten e-NAVI.
- Open お支払い口座の照会・変更 (payment-account inquiry/change).
- Confirm that the card displayed is the card whose bill you want to pay from the new account.
Do not rely on a browser’s previously selected card or an old bookmark. Verify the card details in the account area before submitting a change.
2. Choose online registration
Select the online bank-account registration option and choose your financial institution from the eligible-institution list. Online registration avoids completing and mailing a paper form and does not require a seal.

e-NAVI transfers you to the bank’s authentication flow. Follow the bank’s prompts, including any one-time password or additional identity check, and authorize the account-registration request. The exact screens differ by bank.
4. Submit and verify
- Finish the bank authentication and return to the Rakuten Card flow.
- Submit the change when prompted.
- Reopen the payment-account page in e-NAVI and confirm that the intended bank account is shown.
- Check the relevant statement as well, once the account information is reflected there.
Save the completion screen or confirmation number if one is displayed. It gives you a reference if the account does not appear as expected.

Registration timing: when the new account will be used
Rakuten Card states that an online registration completed by the 10th at 21:59 can, in principle, be applied to that month’s withdrawal. This is an operational cutoff, not a guarantee that every bank or exceptional case will settle identically, so verify the account shown in e-NAVI and the statement.
| Registration method | Timing stated by Rakuten Card | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Online registration | By the 10th at 21:59 can generally apply to that month’s withdrawal | Complete bank authentication, then confirm the account in e-NAVI and on the statement |
| Postal registration | Approximately one to two months, including mailing and bank approval | Keep the currently registered account funded until the change is confirmed |
If you miss the online cutoff, assume the existing account may be used for the upcoming debit. Keep sufficient funds in that account and check the payment-account display rather than moving money based only on the date you submitted a request.

When the account change does not appear
- Review e-NAVI to see whether the request is still pending or was rejected by the bank.
- Check that the account-holder name matches the bank’s registered name and meets Rakuten Card’s requirements.
- Confirm that you changed the correct card if you have multiple cards.
- Do not close or empty the former account until the statement and e-NAVI both show the new account for the intended billing cycle.
Turn on payment alerts in the Rakuten Card app
The app’s notification controls are separate from e-NAVI’s email controls. To configure app alerts, open the Rakuten Card app and follow:
Menu > App settings > Notifications
Enable the notification types that match how you want to monitor the card:
| App setting | What it reports | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| ご利用情報のお知らせ (use-information notice) | Rapid or near-real-time information after card use, subject to delivery and transaction limitations | Security monitoring for unfamiliar activity |
| ご利用明細登録のお知らせ (statement-registration notice) | Finalized transaction information after processing | Reconciling the statement and checking merchant details |
| 楽天カードからのお知らせ | Issuer announcements and important service notices | Operational changes and account communications |
Also check your phone’s operating-system notification permission for the Rakuten Card app. If the app is permitted internally but blocked at the device level, no banner or sound will appear.
Why enable both use and statement notices?
The use-information notice is earlier but preliminary. Merchant details can be incomplete or change while the transaction is processed. The statement-registration notice arrives later, after finalized information is available. Using both gives you an early security signal and a later record for reconciliation; neither one confirms that a bank debit completed.

Subscribe to email notifications through e-NAVI
Email alerts are configured in Rakuten e-NAVI, not in the app’s notification menu. Sign in to e-NAVI, open the email-notification settings, and subscribe to the card-use notices you want. Complete the email-address verification flow if e-NAVI requests it, then confirm that the subscription is shown as enabled.
App and email settings do not automatically substitute for each other. If you want redundancy, turn on both channels. A phone change, app logout, disabled push permission, spam filtering, or a temporary service issue can affect one channel without affecting the other.
Make email useful rather than noisy
- Add the verified sender to your safe-sender list so legitimate notices are not diverted to junk mail.
- Use a dedicated mail folder or rule for card-use notices.
- Do not treat an email’s display name alone as proof of authenticity. Open e-NAVI or the official app directly when you need to verify a transaction.
Use the e-NAVI and app message box for payment-date notices
The e-NAVI/app message box is the place to review issuer communications that are not ordinary transaction alerts. Rakuten Card’s “important notices” section includes guidance about withdrawal dates, service changes, and revisions to membership terms. Check it regularly, especially around billing and account changes.
A message-box notice is useful for knowing when a payment is scheduled or when service rules have changed, but it is not a substitute for checking the registered bank account or confirming the debit in your bank record.

How fast alerts arrive—and what they do not prove
Use alerts are preliminary
The app can notify you soon after a card authorization or use event, but Rakuten Card warns that delivery may be delayed or may fail. The notice can precede the merchant’s final submission, and the merchant name or amount may be updated when processing is complete.
Rank #4
Finalized details arrive later
Statement information becomes available after processing. Rakuten Card’s guidance describes a shortest stated timing of two days for some finalized details, but the actual interval depends on the merchant and transaction flow. Wait for the statement-registration notice or check the finalized statement before treating a description as final.
Transactions that may not generate the same alerts
Some transactions are outside the rapid-alert pattern. The issuer identifies, among others:
- Transactions under ¥500.
- Certain recurring payments.
- Some overseas transactions.
- ETC transactions.
- Some family-card transactions.
These categories can produce a different timing or no app or rapid-email notice. A missing alert therefore does not, by itself, prove that a charge did not occur.
Alerts are not payment confirmation
Use and authorization notices do not confirm that the direct debit was accepted by your bank. To confirm payment, check the finalized Rakuten Card statement and the debit entry in the registered bank account. Keep funds available before the scheduled withdrawal even when no alert is expected.
Choose the right channel for each task
| Task | App | Email via e-NAVI | Message box | Final statement or bank record |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Early security signal | Use-information notice, when delivered | Card-use notice, when subscribed and delivered | Not designed for rapid transaction alerts | Shows activity after processing, not an instant signal |
| Final merchant and amount check | Statement-registration notice can point you to finalized information | Email timing depends on the configured notice | Not a transaction ledger | Authoritative place to reconcile the finalized charge |
| Withdrawal-date guidance | Issuer message may appear in the message area | May not carry every message-box notice | Important-notice section is designed for this | Bank record confirms whether the debit actually posted |
| Confirming direct-debit completion | Cannot prove completion by itself | Cannot prove completion by itself | Cannot prove completion by itself | Use the finalized statement and bank transaction record |
What to do when a notification is missing
- Check the transaction category. A charge under ¥500, recurring, overseas, ETC, or family-card activity may not follow the rapid-alert pattern.
- Allow for processing time. The merchant may not yet have supplied finalized information, so the statement-registration notice can arrive later.
- Confirm both settings. In the app, revisit Menu > App settings > Notifications. In e-NAVI, review the separate email-notification settings.
- Check device and mailbox controls. Verify phone push permission, battery or background restrictions, spam folders, and storage limits.
- Review the message box. Payment-date or service notices can appear there even when a transaction alert does not.
- Check the finalized statement. Look for the transaction in e-NAVI after processing rather than relying only on a push banner or email.
If the charge is present in the finalized statement, the missing alert is a delivery or eligibility issue. If it is not present but you suspect unauthorized use, preserve the date, amount, and merchant information and contact Rakuten Card through its official support route.

How to handle an unexpected alert
An unexpected use notice is a security signal, not a final verdict. First, compare the amount and timestamp with recent purchases, subscriptions, digital-wallet activity, and transactions made by an authorized family-card user. Merchant descriptors can differ from the shop name you remember.
- Open the Rakuten Card app or e-NAVI directly instead of following links in a message.
- Check whether the alert is preliminary or whether the transaction has been finalized.
- Review the finalized statement when merchant data is available.
- If you still do not recognize the transaction, contact Rakuten Card promptly using the official support channel and follow its instructions for securing the account.
Do not disclose passwords, one-time codes, or full card details in response to an unsolicited message. A genuine alert can be investigated from inside e-NAVI or the app.
Keep the autopay arrangement reliable
Before each scheduled withdrawal
- Keep enough money in the account currently shown for the card in e-NAVI.
- Check the finalized statement for the amount due and any late-posting merchant charges.
- Review the message box for withdrawal-date guidance or service notices.
After changing banks
- Confirm the new account in e-NAVI after online registration.
- Check the statement for the billing cycle in which the change should take effect.
- Keep the former account available and funded until the first debit from the new account is confirmed, particularly when the request was submitted after the 10th at 21:59 or by post.
When you have multiple cards
Repeat the verification for each card. A bank account change made while one card is selected may not affect another card’s payment setting.
Common mistakes and their fixes
| Mistake | Likely result | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Assuming app notifications automatically enable email | Only one channel delivers notices | Configure email separately in e-NAVI |
| Changing the account after the monthly cutoff and assuming it applies immediately | The existing account may be used for the upcoming debit | Check the account displayed for that statement and fund the applicable account |
| Checking only a rapid use alert | Preliminary merchant data is mistaken for the final bill | Reconcile the statement-registration notice and finalized statement |
| Ignoring the selected-card indicator | The wrong card’s account is changed or reviewed | Select and verify the intended card before every account change |
| Treating a missing alert as proof that no charge occurred | Excluded or delayed transactions are overlooked | Check transaction eligibility, then inspect the finalized statement |
| Moving funds immediately after an account change | The next debit can fail if the old account remains in effect | Wait for e-NAVI and statement confirmation before closing or emptying the old account |
A practical verification routine
Use this short routine whenever you change an account or enable alerts:
- Confirm the selected card in e-NAVI.
- Confirm the bank account displayed under お支払い口座の照会・変更.
- Record whether the request was online or postal and, for online registration, whether it was completed by the 10th at 21:59.
- In the app, enable use-information, statement-registration, and issuer-notice notifications as needed.
- In e-NAVI, enable the separate email notices if you want a second delivery path.
- Check the message box for payment-date guidance.
- Before the debit date, fund the account shown for that billing cycle.
- After the debit, compare the finalized statement with the bank transaction record.
This routine separates three questions that are often confused: which account is registered, whether a card transaction occurred, and whether the monthly debit completed.
