To get a Bitcoin price alert, choose an exchange or charting app, select the BTC market and quote currency you want to track, set an above- or below-price condition, then enable notifications in both the app and your device settings. A price alert is a notification—not a trade order—so it won’t buy or sell Bitcoin for you.
Before you set an alert
Choose the market pair that matches the price you care about. BTC/USD, BTC/EUR and other pairs can show different prices, so an alert on one quote currency may not trigger at the threshold you expect on another.

Then decide what should trigger the notification: Bitcoin moving above a price, dropping below it, or—where supported—changing by a percentage. Check whether the service requires you to add BTC to a watchlist, use a particular app mode, or keep the alert active by a certain date.
Finally, turn on delivery in two places: the service’s alert or notification settings and your phone or computer’s system settings. If either blocks notifications, the alert may be set up but not reach you.

Set a Bitcoin alert in the app or service you use
Coinbase
- In the Coinbase mobile app, search for and select the cryptocurrency.
- Add it to your watchlist using the star control. Coinbase says only watchlisted assets send price alerts.
- Tap the bell-plus icon, choose Add Alert, select whether the price should move above or below your target, and save.
- Open Notification Settings and choose push, in-app, and/or email for custom alerts. For push delivery, also allow Coinbase notifications in your phone’s settings.
Coinbase says price alerts only notify you when an asset reaches a price; they do not place an order. Controls may vary by app version or region, so use the options displayed in your app. Coinbase’s price-alert instructions.
Binance
- Switch to Binance Pro, where Binance says price alerts are available.
- Open Markets, choose the BTC trading pair you want, then open its alert control.
- Select an alert type, enter the target or percentage condition, choose the frequency, and tap Create Alert.
- Allow Binance notifications in your phone settings. If using desktop delivery, allow browser or system notifications as applicable.
Binance lists conditions for reaching a price, rising above it, dropping to it, percentage change over or under a threshold, and 24-hour percentage change. Its support page, updated January 6, 2026, states a maximum of 10 alerts per trading pair and 50 alerts overall; each alert is valid for 90 days. Kraken
On Kraken web, add the Alerts widget to your layout and configure the price alert there. Allow browser notifications if you want alerts delivered in the browser. On mobile, enable Kraken Pro push notifications both in the app and in your device settings.

TradingView
- Open the BTC chart and use the chart or alert controls to create an alert with your chosen price condition.
- Set the alert’s expiration and confirm it appears in the alert manager.
- For phone delivery, install the current TradingView app, allow its notifications in your device settings, and check Notify in App when creating the alert.
- For desktop pop-ups, allow browser and system notifications. Review the alert manager and expiration timer to confirm the alert remains active.

Check that the alert will reach you
- Confirm the selected BTC pair uses the quote currency you intend to follow.
- Verify the threshold direction: an alert for a rise above a price is different from one for a drop below it.
- Check that the service’s alert is saved and still active, including any expiration or validity date.
- Allow notifications in the app and the phone, browser, or computer settings for the delivery method you selected.
- If an alert does not arrive, revisit the service’s alert list and notification permissions rather than assuming the price condition was wrong.
What a Bitcoin price alert does—and does not do
An alert tells you that a configured condition has been met. It does not place a buy or sell order, reserve a price, or guarantee that you can trade at the threshold when you see the notification. If you want an automatic trade, you need to configure an appropriate order separately and understand its terms.
