Use three layers: exchange searches for the filed result, exchange calendars and board-meeting notices for advance warning, and the issuer’s Investor Relations email list where available. On the announcement day, treat the NSE or BSE filing, attachment and timestamp as the authoritative confirmation—not a calendar date or an alert from an aggregator.
What an earnings alert actually tells you
Indian companies can signal an upcoming result before they file it. A board-meeting notice or event-calendar entry may say that the board will consider financial results on a particular date. That is an expected decision window. It is not the result itself, and the meeting date can be revised.

The confirmation arrives when the company files its result through the exchange. NSE and BSE maintain separate announcement and results records, so a company listed on both exchanges can have entries on each. The most reliable workflow therefore separates advance notice from final verification:

- Filed-result monitoring: NSE Corporate Filings Announcements and BSE Financial Results.
- Direct issuer notices: an email-registration form on the company’s Investor Relations website, when the issuer provides one.
Combining those layers gives you lead time without treating an unfiled expectation as published financial information.

Set up an NSE alert workflow
Find filed results in Corporate Filings Announcements
- Open NSE’s Corporate Filings Announcements page.
- Enter the company name or exchange symbol.
- Set the Subject filter to Financial Results, or search the subject field for results if the interface presents a broader list.
- Choose a date range. NSE provides 1D, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y and Custom options.
- Review the broadcast date and time for each matching entry.
- Open the attachment and check the period covered, whether the numbers are standalone or consolidated, and the document supplied by the company.
- Use the CSV download when you need a local watchlist, a repeatable review or an audit trail of announcements.
The date filter is useful for two different jobs. A short range such as 1D or 1W helps you spot a result filed recently. A 6M, 1Y or custom search is better for checking whether a company has already filed a particular quarter or for building a history before the next reporting season.
Use NSE’s calendar for advance warning
NSE’s Corporate Filings Event Calendar and Board Meetings pages show advance intimations. Look for a meeting purpose labelled Financial Results. The entry gives you an expected announcement window, allowing you to schedule a check or add the company to a result-day list.
Do not mark the result as received merely because a calendar item exists. Return to Corporate Filings Announcements after the meeting and verify that the company has uploaded the actual filing and attachment. If the date changes, use the revised board-meeting entry rather than the original date.

NSE’s corporate-filings application also describes tracking the latest filings for five selected companies. This is useful for a small personal portfolio: select the companies you follow, then use the tracking view as a first screen. Still open the underlying announcement when a result appears so you can confirm the filing time and read the attachment rather than relying only on a summary view.
Set up the BSE workflow
Start with Board Meetings
- Open BSE’s Board Meetings page.
- Search by the company’s security name, code or ISIN.
- Set Purpose to Quarterly Results where that option applies.
- Record the announced meeting date.
- Check the listing again for revisions before the meeting and on the expected result date.
The BSE board-meeting record is a planning signal. A revised date can change when you should check the results page, so retain the latest entry in your watchlist instead of the first date you saw.

Confirm the filing in Financial Results
- Open BSE’s Financial Results section for the same company.
- Verify the filed period, such as the quarter or year covered.
- Check whether the filing is standalone or consolidated.
- Review the filing status and the filing timestamp.
- Open the company’s document and retain the exchange record if you need an audit trail.
The period and accounting scope matter. A consolidated result includes the group, while a standalone result relates to the listed entity itself; they should not be treated as interchangeable when you compare a result with an earlier quarter or with an analyst estimate.
Use SEBI’s exchange directory when navigation changes
SEBI’s directory links to the official NSE Financial Results and BSE Financial Results destinations. If an exchange redesign moves a page or changes a menu label, use that directory to reach the official result areas instead of relying on an old bookmark or an unofficial mirror.

Many companies operate an Investor Relations page with an email-registration option. Availability and the exact form differ by issuer, so check each company’s own site rather than assuming that every listed stock offers the same service.
A BSE-hosted Nucleus Software annual-report passage explains the mechanism directly: “The Company sends an instant email alert of the quarterly/annual financial results, to all persons who get themselves registered on the Company’s website.” The same passage says registered readers can receive alerts and updates about financial events, financial results, press releases and annual and quarterly reports.
A BSE-hosted GoIndiGo corporate-overview passage similarly says investors can register an email address for uploads in the company’s Investor Relations section. It also describes quarterly results and other corporate communications being filed through NSE NEAPS and the BSE Listing Centre for dissemination.

- Open the issuer’s Investor Relations section.
- Look for labels such as Email alerts, Investor updates or Register for notifications.
- Submit the address requested by the company and complete any confirmation step.
- Keep the issuer’s messages as an early notification, then confirm the corresponding filing on NSE or BSE.
An issuer email can arrive quickly and may include a press release or presentation, but the exchange filing remains the record to verify the date, document and timestamp.

A practical setup for a small portfolio
If you follow only a few companies, you do not need a market-wide alert product. Build a simple repeatable routine:
- Create a list containing each company name, NSE symbol, BSE code or ISIN, and whether you want standalone, consolidated or both results.
- Before each reporting season, check NSE’s Event Calendar and Board Meetings pages and BSE’s Board Meetings search.
- Record the latest expected meeting date and set a reminder for the date plus a follow-up check on the next trading day.
- Subscribe to the issuer’s Investor Relations email list wherever it is offered.
- On the expected day, search NSE Corporate Filings Announcements using the company and Financial Results subject. Search BSE Financial Results as well when the company is listed on both exchanges.
- Open the attachment, verify the period and accounting scope, and record the filing timestamp.
- Download the NSE CSV when you want to retain a local record of what was filed and when.
This arrangement gives you an advance reminder, a direct issuer message when available, and an exchange-level confirmation. It also avoids confusing a board notice with a result.
Monitoring many companies
For a larger watchlist, manual searches can become repetitive. A third-party service may combine exchange filings with email, push notifications, Telegram or WhatsApp delivery. Such a service can be convenient, but evaluate it before relying on it for a trading decision.
- Coverage: Does it monitor the exchanges and securities you actually follow, including both NSE and BSE where necessary?
- Lead time: Does it report board-meeting notices, filed results, or both?
- Latency: How quickly does it deliver an alert after the exchange posts the filing?
- Delivery: Can you choose email, push or a messaging channel without missing important notices?
- Verification: Does the alert link to the original exchange record, attachment and timestamp?
- Privacy: What personal data is collected, and how are email addresses or messaging identifiers used?
Use an aggregator as a notification layer, not as the final authority. When an alert arrives, open the corresponding NSE or BSE filing and confirm the document yourself. Coverage, latency and notification features can change, so reassess the service periodically.

What to check when an alert arrives
An alert is only the beginning of the review. Before interpreting the numbers or acting on them, run this checklist:
- Is the entry an actual financial-results filing, or only a board-meeting or event-calendar notice?
- Does the filing cover the quarter, half-year or full year you expected?
- Is it standalone or consolidated?
- What is the exchange’s broadcast or filing timestamp?
- Is there an attachment containing the results, notes, presentation or press release?
- Did the company issue a revised board-meeting date or a later replacement filing?
- If the company trades on both exchanges, does the other exchange show the corresponding record?
Keep the original attachment and timestamp if you maintain investment records. A later summary may omit the distinction between a notice and a filed result, while the exchange entry preserves the underlying chronology.
Common problems and fixes
The calendar shows a result date, but no result is visible
Wait for the actual exchange filing and search both the expected date and a short surrounding range. A board-meeting entry is not proof that the result has been uploaded, and the meeting date may have been revised.
The issuer sent an email, but the exchange search does not match it
Check that you are searching the correct company name or symbol, then search BSE by security name, code or ISIN as well as NSE by company or symbol. Confirm whether the email announced a meeting, a press release or a filed result. Only the matching exchange filing confirms publication.
You found two sets of numbers
Read the filing labels carefully. Standalone and consolidated results measure different scopes, and a company can publish both. Compare like with like and record which version you used.

The expected date changed
Replace the old reminder with the revised board-meeting entry. Recheck the exchange announcement pages on the new date rather than assuming the first notice remains valid.
You cannot find an email-registration form
Look under the issuer’s Investor Relations, shareholder information or corporate announcements sections. If no registration option is offered, rely on the NSE and BSE workflows and add a calendar reminder for the company’s expected reporting window.
An alert service is late or missing a company
Check its exchange coverage and delivery settings, then verify the filing directly on NSE or BSE. A missed third-party notification does not mean that the exchange filing is absent.

The alert tells you that a corporate event occurred; it does not tell you whether the result is good or bad. Start by identifying the reporting period and accounting scope. Then read the filing and any accompanying notes or presentation before comparing it with an earlier period. A board-meeting notice offers no financial result to interpret, and an email headline may summarize only one part of the company’s communication.
For a personal record, store the company identifier, exchange, announcement type, expected meeting date, actual filing date and time, period, standalone or consolidated designation, and the attachment. This makes it easier to distinguish a delayed filing from a revised notice and to find the exact document later.
