To move euros between Kraken and your bank, use Kraken’s EUR funding or withdrawal flow, choose a currently available SEPA method, and copy the beneficiary details exactly as shown in your account. Deposits must come from a bank account in the same legal name as your verified Kraken account; withdrawals must go to your own bank account. Ordinary SEPA deposits generally take up to three business days, while supported SEPA Instant transfers can settle in less than 10 seconds. Fees, limits, providers and processing times vary by method, country, bank and verification status.
What you need before sending any euros
Have these items ready before opening your bank app or Kraken:

- A personal bank account that supports EUR transfers through SEPA. Your bank account name must match the legal name on Kraken.
- The current EUR deposit or withdrawal instructions displayed inside your Kraken account. Bank details and available processors can change, so do not rely on an old saved beneficiary.
- Enough balance to cover the transfer amount and any fee charged by your bank or an intermediary bank.
Send only euros to a EUR method. Sending another currency to the EUR beneficiary details can delay the payment or require a return process. A bank or intermediary may charge for a transfer even when Kraken shows no deposit fee.

1. Open Kraken’s EUR funding instructions
- Sign in to Kraken or open the Kraken app.
- Open the funding or add-money flow.
- Select EUR as the currency.
- Choose one of the available SEPA or SEPA Instant providers.
The provider list is account- and region-specific. If a method is not displayed, you cannot assume it is available for your residence or verification level.

2. Copy every beneficiary detail exactly
Kraken will show the receiving account details and any payment instructions for the selected method. Copy the beneficiary name, IBAN, BIC or other fields that Kraken displays. If the instructions request an AA-prefixed Kraken Public Account ID, enter that reference exactly in your bank’s reference or message field. Do not substitute an email address, trading account number or a reference from a different Kraken funding method.
Some providers have different requirements. For example, Kraken states that its Banking Circle EUR SEPA personal account is held with the German branch, uses a DE-format IBAN, and does not require a deposit reference or payment purpose. That instruction applies to that provider as described by Kraken; it does not override the instructions shown for another provider.
3. Send the transfer from the matching bank account
- In your bank’s payment screen, create a SEPA EUR transfer to the beneficiary details copied from Kraken.
- Make sure the sender name is the same legal name as the Kraken account holder.
- Enter the requested reference or purpose, if Kraken’s selected method requires one.
- Confirm that the currency is EUR and review the IBAN digit by digit before authorizing the payment.
- Send the amount. Kraken’s listed SEPA deposit methods generally have a minimum of €1.
Keep the bank confirmation and transaction identifier until the euros appear in your Kraken balance. A bank’s debit confirmation only proves that the sending bank accepted the payment; it does not prove that Kraken has credited it.

“Free” refers to Kraken’s listed deposit fee for the applicable method. Your bank or an intermediary bank can still impose a charge. The displayed minimum and fee are the current terms for your selected method, not a permanent promise for every Kraken account.

How SEPA Instant changes the transfer
Kraken describes SEPA Instant as a 24/7/365 payment scheme in which transfers are settled in less than 10 seconds. That is a network settlement target, not a guarantee that every Kraken deposit will be credited in 10 seconds. The sending bank, receiving bank and Kraken’s processor must all support the route, and bank checks can create a short delay.
The SCT Instant network maximum is €100,000 per transaction (SCT Instant network, 2026). Your bank or Kraken can apply a lower limit. A transfer that exceeds a provider’s limit may need to be sent by ordinary SEPA or split only when Kraken and your bank permit that approach; do not split a payment to bypass a compliance or account limit.
Choose SEPA Instant when speed matters and the option is explicitly offered for your account. Choose ordinary SEPA when it is the available route or when the instant route’s bank-side charge, limit or availability is unsuitable.

How to withdraw euros from Kraken to your bank
1. Start a EUR cash withdrawal
- Sign in to Kraken.
- Open Transfer > Withdraw.
- Select EUR.
- Choose an available EUR cash withdrawal method.
Withdrawal methods are regional and can differ from the deposit methods shown for the same account. Read the method’s minimum, fee and estimated processing time before confirming.

2. Add and verify your own bank account
- Add the bank account details requested by the selected withdrawal method.
- Use an account held in your own name, matching your Kraken legal name.
- Review the IBAN and any other requested information.
- Confirm the withdrawal in Kraken and complete any security or email confirmation step shown.
Do not route a Kraken withdrawal through a third-party merchant payment processor. The destination should be your own eligible bank account, not a payment account belonging to another person or a business that is not the verified account holder.
3. Allow for the method’s processing window
Kraken’s cited SEPA withdrawal table lists minimums of approximately €2–€3, fees of €0.90 or €1, and processing that ranges from near-instant to 0–5 business days, depending on the method and region.

The amount credited by your bank can differ from the amount debited from Kraken if a bank or intermediary deducts an additional charge. Check the final review screen for the net amount and fee before you authorize the withdrawal.

Kraken states that standard verified-individual cash limits shown on its 2026 limits page are 100,000 USD per rolling 24 hours and 500,000 USD per rolling 30 days. These are account-level cash limits expressed in USD; they are not a promise that every user can send those amounts in euros. Actual limits vary with verification, residence, account type, activity and the asset or funding method.

There can also be a lower limit at your bank, the SEPA processor or the SEPA Instant network. The limit shown in your Kraken account for the selected method is the operative one for that transfer. A payment that is below Kraken’s account limit can still fail if it exceeds a bank or provider limit.

A hold does not automatically mean that funds are lost. Kraken identifies several possible reasons, including exceeding a funding limit, a mismatch between the Kraken and bank-account names, or another compliance review.
Name mismatch
Deposits from a spouse, friend, employer, business or another third party can be rejected or held when the sender name does not match the Kraken account. The same-name requirement applies even when you control both accounts informally. Use a bank account whose legal account holder matches the verified Kraken identity.
Limit or velocity review
Kraken’s limits are dynamic. A new transfer, a series of transfers, a change in activity or a verification change can trigger a review even when an earlier payment succeeded.

Compliance or bank checks
SEPA Instant is designed for rapid settlement, but Kraken warns that bank checks can create short delays. Other transfers can also be held for manual review. Some holds release automatically; others require manual review.
Incorrect beneficiary details or reference
An old IBAN, a mistyped digit, a missing required AA-prefixed Kraken Public Account ID, or a reference copied from another method can prevent automatic matching. Compare the bank confirmation with the exact instructions currently displayed in Kraken.
What to do when a deposit has not arrived
- Check the transfer status in your bank and confirm that the payment was actually sent, not merely scheduled or rejected.
- Compare the amount, currency, beneficiary IBAN, sender name and reference with Kraken’s current EUR instructions.
- Check whether the ordinary SEPA window of up to three business days has passed, excluding the bank’s non-business days.
- If you used SEPA Instant, verify that both banks support instant payments and that the transfer was not held for a bank check.
- Keep the bank receipt, transaction identifier, amount, date and beneficiary details ready when contacting Kraken support or your bank.
- Do not send a second payment simply because the first is delayed; duplicate payments can create another reconciliation problem.
If the sender name was wrong, the currency was not EUR, or the beneficiary details were incorrect, contact the sending bank and Kraken rather than attempting to repair the transfer with another payment.

- Open the withdrawal record in Kraken and verify that it was submitted successfully rather than canceled or still awaiting confirmation.
- Confirm that the destination IBAN belongs to you and matches the account details you intended to use.
- Compare the submission date with the method’s stated window: near-instant for some routes or up to five business days for others.
- Check your bank’s incoming-payment queue, daily limits, maintenance notices and compliance messages.
- If the stated window has passed, contact Kraken with the withdrawal ID and your bank with the relevant payment reference. Do not ask the bank to search using only the amount; provide the full transaction details.

Practical safety checklist
- Open Kraken directly rather than using an old email or saved payment instruction.
- Copy the current beneficiary IBAN and reference from the selected EUR method.
- Confirm that the destination is a EUR account and that you are sending EUR.
- Use only a bank account in the same legal name as your Kraken account.
- Start with a small test transfer when using a newly displayed beneficiary, provided the method’s minimum allows it.
- Check the fee and net amount on Kraken’s final confirmation screen.
- Save the bank confirmation and Kraken transaction ID until the balance or bank credit is visible.
- Never share your Kraken password, two-factor authentication code or recovery credentials with someone claiming to be a payment intermediary.
