An AMC name change does not by itself prove that your folio number, scheme, or units changed. The official material available for this workflow explains Coin’s folio and statement retrieval, but does not identify a particular old-name/new-name AMC mapping. For a name-specific confirmation, match the AMC, scheme, and effective date against that AMC’s own official notice.

What an AMC name change changes—and what it does not establish
“AMC name change” can describe a corporate-name change, a brand change, or simply a different name appearing in a statement. Those are different events. A new display name may identify the same fund house, while a transaction record can continue to use an older legal or operational name during a transition.
The available Zerodha guidance does not establish any particular AMC’s old name, new name, merger, or folio migration. Do not infer that a folio number changed merely because the fund-house name changed. Confirm any mapping in the named AMC’s official investor communication, and keep the scheme name, folio number, ISIN (if shown), and transaction dates together when asking for help.

- Demat ownership record: the CDSL or NSDL statement associated with your demat account.
- Mutual-fund-wide record: a CAS or an AMC/RTA statement for the selected period.
If the renamed AMC’s website cannot find you, that result alone is not evidence that your investment is missing. The holding format is the first issue to check.
Step 1: Find the folio number in Coin
Coin mobile app
- Sign in to the Zerodha account you normally use for Coin.
- Open Investments.
- Select the mutual-fund investment in question.
- Open the investment details. Zerodha says these details include the folio number and other information about the holding. See Zerodha’s instructions for viewing mutual-fund investment details on Coin.
Record the folio exactly as displayed, including any leading zeroes or letters. Also note the scheme or plan name and the holding mode shown in the account. Those details let an AMC, registrar and transfer agent (RTA), or Zerodha support team locate the same investment without relying on an uncertain name search.
Coin web
- Sign in to Coin on the web using your usual Zerodha credentials.
- Open Holdings.
- Choose the mutual fund.
- View the investment details and copy the folio number into a private record.
Coin is the appropriate starting point even if you ultimately need an AMC statement. It links the investment to the demat account through which the purchase was made.
Folio, demat account and scheme identifiers are different
A folio identifies the mutual-fund account maintained for the investor. A demat account identifier identifies the depository account in which Coin units are held. The scheme name identifies the particular fund, plan and option. A statement may show more than one of these, so do not substitute one number for another when completing an RTA form.
Copy the complete identifier rather than a shortened screen label. If a portal asks for a demat account number, use the number requested by that portal—not the Coin folio. If it asks for a folio, use the folio from the investment details. Keeping both records prevents a valid account from being rejected because the wrong identifier was entered.
Why the investment may not appear on the AMC website
Zerodha states that mutual-fund investments made on Coin are held in demat form and may not be visible on an AMC website. Its explanation is that some AMC and RTA portals show folio-mode or statement-of-account holdings, while a demat-held Coin position is recorded through the depository. Display of demat holdings on an AMC website is also at the AMC’s discretion.

Do not open a new folio or place another order simply because a renamed AMC’s search page returns no result. First verify the position in Coin and the depository record.
Step 2: Download a statement that includes the holding
Use a CDSL or NSDL CAS for a broad account record
Zerodha describes CAS as a consolidated statement of transactions and holdings across demat accounts held with CDSL and NSDL, together with mutual-fund units held in statement-of-account (SOA) form. The correct depository route depends on the demat account connected to your investment.
- Open Zerodha’s explanation of what CAS is and how to download it.
- Choose the CDSL or NSDL route specified for your demat account.
- Enter the account and identity information requested by that depository portal.
- Select the relevant period and request or download the statement.
- Keep the resulting PDF or electronic statement in a private, backed-up location.
Zerodha also describes a CDSL option through DigiLocker. Use that route only through the official access path linked from Zerodha’s CAS guidance, and check that the statement period covers the purchase, any switch or redemption, and the date on which the name change took effect.
For older purchases, request a period beginning before the first transaction and ending after the suspected name-change date. A statement that starts too late can omit the purchase; one that ends too early cannot show whether the balance continued under a later name. If you need evidence for a particular date, save both the downloaded file and the period selected when requesting it.

Use AMFI’s mutual-fund statement facilities
For a mutual-fund-focused consolidated record, the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) lists e-CAS facilities from CAMS and KFintech and provides access to MF Central. On MF Central, you can view or download portfolio and CAS information in summary or detailed form for a selected period.

- Choose the CAMS or KFintech e-CAS facility, or sign in to MF Central.
- Select the statement type: summary or detailed, depending on whether you need balances only or transaction-level information.
- Set the period so it includes the relevant purchases and the AMC name-change date.
- Download the statement and compare the scheme, folio or account identifier, units, and transaction dates with Coin.
Choose a summary statement when you only need the current portfolio at a glance. Choose a detailed statement when you are checking a rename, switch, dividend, purchase, redemption, or the exact date on which units appeared. A consolidated mutual-fund statement can be useful when you hold funds serviced by more than one RTA. It is not a substitute for checking the demat record when the Coin investment is demat-held.
Request an RTA statement when you need transaction detail
If the fund is serviced by KFintech, its Investor statement and reports page provides statement services. KFintech also lists PAN Based Services for contact-detail and folio-related services across KFintech-serviced folios. Use only the details and folios that belong to you, and compare any result with the Coin and depository records before treating a name variation as a transfer.
How to compare two statements accurately
- Match the scheme first. Check the full scheme, plan and option name, not just the AMC abbreviation.
- Match the identifier. Compare the folio in the mutual-fund statement with Coin’s folio, or compare the demat account and security details with the depository statement.
- Match units and dates. A purchase, switch or redemption should appear in a logical sequence, allowing for the statement’s reporting conventions.
- Check the period and valuation date. Two statements generated for different dates can show different balances without any transfer.
- Record discrepancies separately. Note exactly which field differs and ask the AMC/RTA or Zerodha to explain that field.
A changed logo, abbreviation or legal name is weaker evidence than a matching folio, scheme, unit balance and transaction history. Do not edit a downloaded statement to make names match; preserve the original file and annotate your own comparison separately.
Step 3: Check whether your contact details are blocking access
Some RTA statement and login services identify an investor through the email address or mobile number registered for the folio. Zerodha says the contact details registered with the AMC for Coin investments are the same as the Zerodha details, captured by CDSL and shared with the RTA. It also says RTAs update their databases every weekend.
- Compare the email address and mobile number currently registered with Zerodha with the details you are entering in the AMC or RTA service.
- If either detail is outdated, follow Zerodha’s procedure for changing the email ID or mobile number registered with the AMC for Coin investments.
- Allow for the weekend update cycle described by Zerodha before retrying an RTA lookup.
- Try the statement service again using the updated details.
An outdated contact record can explain a failed one-time-password delivery or an empty account search. It does not establish that the folio was renumbered or that units were moved because of the AMC’s name change.
A practical troubleshooting path
If Coin shows the fund but the AMC site does not
- Copy the folio number and scheme name from Coin.
- Confirm that the Coin holding is demat-held.
- Download the relevant CDSL or NSDL statement and check for the units.
- Use CAS or MF Central for a second consolidated view.
- Contact the AMC/RTA only after you have the Coin and depository details available.
This path distinguishes a portal-display limitation from an ownership problem without creating a duplicate investment.

If Coin does not show the investment
- Sign out and back in to the correct Zerodha account.
- Check both Investments in the app and Holdings on Coin web.
- Review the depository statement for the period in which you bought the fund.
- Check CAS for both demat and SOA records.
- If none of those records contains the holding, contact Zerodha support with the transaction date, scheme name, and available order or payment reference.
If a statement shows an unfamiliar AMC name
- Do not assume it is a new folio or a new fund.
- Compare the scheme name, units, transaction dates, and folio or account identifier with Coin.
- Locate the AMC’s official notice that states the old and new names and the effective date.
- Ask the AMC/RTA or Zerodha to confirm continuity in writing if the identifiers do not match.
The available Zerodha and AMFI guidance explains retrieval routes, not a universal rule for how every AMC records a corporate or brand rename. The named AMC’s notice controls the name-specific question.
Common pitfalls to avoid
- Searching only by the new AMC name: try the exact scheme name and use the folio or demat record instead of a brand-only search.
- Confusing a blank AMC portal with a missing holding: establish whether the Coin units are demat-held.
- Requesting the wrong statement type: a summary may omit the transaction detail needed to prove continuity.
- Using an outdated mobile number: update the Zerodha/AMC contact record and allow for the stated weekend refresh.
- Entering the folio in a demat field: use the identifier requested by the particular portal.
- Opening a duplicate folio: verify Coin and depository records before placing another purchase.
- Sharing sensitive documents publicly: redact personal data and use authenticated support channels.
What to provide support—and what not to publish
When a lookup still fails, give the support team enough information to find the account without exposing credentials:
- AMC and scheme name as shown in Coin or the statement
- Folio number or demat account identifier, shared only through the provider’s secure support channel
- Whether the holding is demat or SOA form
- Approximate purchase, switch, or redemption date
- Statement period you need
- The old and new AMC names, if an official notice identifies both
- Screenshots with unnecessary personal data obscured
Never post your PAN, one-time password, full account number, password, or complete statement in a public forum. Use the AMC/RTA’s authenticated channel or Zerodha’s secure support flow.

How to preserve a useful record after the name change
Save the Coin detail page or statement showing the folio, the depository or CAS statement for the same period, and the official AMC name-change notice in one private folder. Use a clear filename that includes the statement period and download date. Keeping the records together makes future redemptions, tax documentation, and support requests easier without relying on a portal’s current display name.
When comparing documents, prioritize identifiers and transactions over the typography of the AMC name. A consistent folio or demat record, scheme, unit balance, and transaction history is stronger evidence of continuity than a changed logo or abbreviated fund-house label.

Where can I find my Zerodha Coin mutual-fund folio number?
In the Coin app, open Investments and select the fund. On Coin web, open Holdings and select the fund. The investment details include the folio number.

Why does my Coin mutual fund not appear on the AMC website?
Coin investments are held in demat form. An AMC or RTA website may show only folio-mode or statement-of-account holdings, and display of demat holdings is at the AMC’s discretion. Check Coin and the CDSL or NSDL demat statement.
Does an AMC name change automatically change my folio number?
Not necessarily. Do not infer a folio migration from a changed name. Confirm the old and new names, scheme and effective date in the AMC’s official notice, then compare the identifiers and transactions.
Which statement shows both demat and mutual-fund holdings?
Zerodha describes CAS as covering CDSL and NSDL demat holdings plus mutual-fund units held in statement-of-account form. CAMS, KFintech and MF Central also provide mutual-fund-focused statement facilities.
Should I choose a summary or detailed CAS?
Choose summary when you need a portfolio overview. Choose detailed when you need transaction-level evidence for a purchase, switch, redemption or name-change date.
What if an RTA cannot send the OTP or finds no folio?
Check that your email and mobile details match Zerodha’s registered details. Zerodha says those details are shared with the RTA and that RTA databases update every weekend. Retry after the update cycle.
What should I send Zerodha or the AMC for a failed lookup?
Provide the scheme and AMC name, folio or demat identifier through a secure channel, holding mode, relevant transaction date, statement period and any official old/new name notice. Do not send PAN, OTPs or passwords in public.
The Bottom Line
Find the folio in Coin first. If the renamed AMC website is blank, verify the demat-held units through CDSL or NSDL and use CAS, CAMS, KFintech or MF Central for the statement period you need.
