To use Walmart+ fuel savings at Exxon or Mobil, confirm that the exact station participates in the Walmart Store Finder or Walmart app, then redeem the offer from the app at the pump. Walmart currently describes the benefit as 10¢ off each gallon at participating Exxon and Mobil locations; selected Alabama stations may provide 5¢ instead. Walmart’s published instructions explain how to redeem the discount, but do not document live Exxon or Mobil pump prices before you arrive, so compare the station’s posted price with nearby alternatives.
What the Walmart+ Exxon and Mobil benefit includes
Walmart+ is a membership program whose fuel benefit applies at participating stations rather than automatically at every station carrying the Exxon or Mobil brand. Walmart’s current help page says members receive 10¢ per gallon at participating Exxon and Mobil locations. It also notes that selected Alabama stations provide 5¢ per gallon and that the amount can change. Check the location’s current terms before treating the advertised amount as certain.

The discount is applied during a fuel transaction; it is not a coupon you print or a general price guarantee. Your effective price depends on the station’s retail price, the applicable Walmart+ amount, and whether the app successfully authorizes the transaction. Walmart says a Mobil+ Loyalty Program discount cannot be combined with the Walmart+ discount, so you should not add both reductions to your calculation.
Walmart announced on September 14, 2026, that its overall participating fuel network had grown to more than 17,000 locations after CITGO joined. That figure covers participating Walmart, Exxon, Mobil, Murphy and CITGO stations, plus Sam’s Club member-price fuel access; it is not a count of Exxon or Mobil stations.

How to find a participating Exxon or Mobil station
Use the Walmart Store Finder
- Open Walmart’s Walmart+ Gas Savings Benefit guidance and follow the link to the Walmart Store Finder.
- Enter your address, city, ZIP code or current location.
- Review the fuel locations shown near your route and open the details for the specific Exxon or Mobil station you plan to use.
- Confirm that the location is identified as participating before you leave. Participation is station-specific, so an Exxon or Mobil station nearby may not qualify simply because another station in the same chain does.
Check in the Walmart app
Walmart’s September 14, 2026, corporate announcement also says members can find participating fuel stations through the Walmart app. Update the app, allow location access, and search the fuel-benefit or member-benefits area. Open the individual station listing rather than relying on a brand-wide assumption. Recheck shortly before a trip because participating locations and terms can change.
Verify the location at the pump
When you arrive, match the station’s address and pump location with the listing you checked. If the app does not identify the site as eligible, do not expect the Walmart+ price to apply. The station’s posted sign and pump display remain the authority for the retail price you will pay before the member discount is processed.
Plan the stop around your route
A participating location is useful only if its posted price, distance and availability make sense for your trip. A station farther away can consume the value of a few cents per gallon through extra driving. If you are comparing two Exxon or Mobil sites, record the exact addresses, verify both listings separately and compare the prices visible when you arrive. Do not infer that a station qualifies because its neighboring location, convenience store or another site in the same market appears in the finder.
What you need before starting the transaction
- A current Walmart app: Walmart’s redemption instructions use the app to start the Exxon/Mobil flow and scan the pump QR code.
- Location Services: Enable location access so the app can identify nearby participating fuel locations and complete the transaction flow.
- A Walmart+ account: Sign in to the account that holds the active membership.
- A payment method: Walmart says Exxon/Mobil pump payment uses the credit or debit card linked to the Walmart+ account. Add or verify that card in advance.
- The correct pump number: Read the number on the pump before entering it in the app.
- A station with a visible QR code: The published flow begins by scanning the code at the pump.
If the station requires a particular Walmart Pay setup, complete that setup before selecting a fuel grade. The exact prompts can vary by station, which is why the member-benefit instructions and the pump’s on-screen directions should be followed together.
Before leaving home, sign in and confirm that the membership is active rather than waiting until you are at the pump. Make sure the phone has enough battery to scan the code and that mobile connectivity is available. These checks do not change the discount amount, but they reduce the chance of beginning a transaction without a usable account or payment card.
How to redeem Walmart+ savings at an Exxon or Mobil pump
- Park at the pump and note the pump number and the fuel grade you intend to buy.
- Open the Walmart app and select Services.
- Choose Walmart+ Member benefits, then select Member prices on fuel.
- Scan the QR code displayed at the Exxon or Mobil pump.
- When the pop-up appears, select Fuel up for less.
- Enter the pump number exactly as shown on the pump.
- Select the payment method linked to your Walmart+ account.
- Choose the fuel grade, review the transaction details, and start fueling.
- Watch the pump display to confirm that fueling begins on the selected pump. Keep the receipt or transaction record until the final charge is visible.
At Exxon and Mobil locations, Walmart’s instructions specify use of the linked credit or debit card for payment. Do not substitute a separate card at the pump after starting the app flow unless the station’s instructions explicitly permit it, because the member price is tied to the authorized transaction.
Take a moment to check the pump number before and after scanning. Entering the wrong number can authorize a different pump or prevent the transaction from starting. Select the grade only after the app displays the correct pump and payment details. If anything on the confirmation screen does not match your vehicle’s pump, cancel and restart rather than dispensing fuel on an unverified transaction.

How to check the price you will actually pay
Separate the posted price from the member discount
The number on the station sign or pump is the retail price per gallon before Walmart+ savings. If an eligible station posts $3.49 per gallon and the applicable Walmart+ benefit is 10¢, the expected member price is $3.39 per gallon before any taxes or other charges already included in the posted retail price. The calculation is:
Expected member price = posted pump price − applicable Walmart+ discount.
For a 15-gallon fill at a station where the full 10¢ benefit applies, the gross Walmart+ reduction would be $1.50. Your total charge still depends on the gallons dispensed and the station’s posted price. At a selected Alabama location where the benefit is 5¢, the same 15-gallon purchase would reduce the bill by 75¢ instead.
Do not treat the app as a live-price quote
Walmart’s published help and announcement explain station discovery and transaction redemption, but they do not establish a feature that reports live Exxon or Mobil pump prices before a trip. Use the app to verify participation and use the physical sign or pump display to check the retail price. If price is your deciding factor, record the posted prices at two or more nearby stations and subtract the applicable Walmart+ amount only from locations confirmed as participating.

Use a simple comparison worksheet
| Station | Posted price per gallon | Walmart+ amount | Estimated member price | Participation confirmed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Exxon or Mobil option A | Read from sign or pump | 10¢ or 5¢ where stated | Posted price minus applicable amount | Yes/no in Store Finder or app |
| Nearby alternative | Read from sign or pump | Apply its own advertised discount, if eligible | Calculate separately | Confirm independently |
This method prevents a common mistake: assuming that a 10¢ discount makes every participating Exxon or Mobil station cheaper than a nearby nonparticipating station with a lower posted price. For example, a participating station at $3.60 with 10¢ off produces an estimated $3.50 price, while a nonparticipating station at $3.45 may still be cheaper. The discount is valuable only after the underlying retail prices are compared.
Discount amount, Alabama exception and other limits
Standard amount and regional exception
Walmart’s customer help page, reviewed October 9, 2026, states 10¢ per gallon at participating Exxon and Mobil stations. The same page says selected Alabama locations may provide 5¢ per gallon and that the benefit may change. Treat the amount shown for the station or current Walmart guidance as controlling for your visit.

Mobil+ cannot be stacked
Walmart says the Mobil+ Loyalty Program discount cannot be combined with Walmart+ savings. Before fueling, decide which eligible offer you are using; do not budget as though both discounts will reduce the same gallon. If you normally use Mobil+, check the pump or app prompts so you understand which payment path is being authorized.

Walmart’s September 14, 2026, announcement reports more than 17,000 participating fuel locations across several brands and Sam’s Club member-price access. It does not identify how many are Exxon or Mobil sites, so it cannot be used to estimate Exxon/Mobil coverage in your city.
Reported annual savings are not a guarantee
Walmart reported that members who used the gas benefit at least weekly saved an average of $109 per year among members with at least 12 months of membership and usage of at least once a week from March 2025 through March 2026. This is Walmart’s reported estimate for that group, not an independent forecast and not a promise of savings at Exxon or Mobil for every household. Your result will vary with fuel consumption, station prices, participation and the applicable per-gallon amount.
How to decide between participating stations
When two eligible stations are available, compare the complete transaction rather than the discount alone.
| Decision factor | What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Participation | Specific address listed in Walmart’s Store Finder or app | Brand signage alone does not establish eligibility. |
| Posted price | Price on the sign or pump immediately before fueling | A lower retail price can outweigh a nominally equal discount elsewhere. |
| Applicable discount | 10¢ generally; 5¢ at selected Alabama sites according to Walmart | The regional amount changes the calculation. |
| Payment and app flow | QR code, pump number, linked card and app connection | A smooth authorization reduces the risk of paying without the member price. |
| Offer conflicts | Whether you plan to use Mobil+ Loyalty | Walmart says the Mobil+ and Walmart+ discounts cannot be combined. |
| Convenience | Distance, route, pump availability and wait time | Driving farther can erase a small per-gallon saving. |
Because no current station-level price list is published in the cited Walmart materials, do not rank particular Exxon or Mobil stations as the cheapest. Make the comparison at the time of purchase using the posted prices you can see. Also consider how many gallons you expect to buy: at 12 gallons, a 10¢ benefit is $1.20, while at 20 gallons it is $2.00. Those amounts can help you judge whether a detour is worthwhile, but they do not turn the benefit into a guaranteed lowest-price claim.
Troubleshooting when the discount does not appear
The station is missing from the app
Confirm that location services are enabled, that you are signed in to the correct Walmart+ account, and that the station address is the one you intended to visit. If the exact location is not identified as participating, treat it as ineligible rather than relying on the Exxon or Mobil name.
The QR code will not scan
Increase screen brightness, clean the phone camera lens, and position the camera squarely over the pump code. If the app is outdated, update it before retrying. Do not enter a different pump number to force the flow; the number must match the pump where your vehicle is parked.

The app requests a payment method
Open the Walmart+ account’s payment settings and verify that a valid credit or debit card is linked. A card that is expired, blocked or not associated with the signed-in account can prevent authorization.
The pump starts at the full posted price
Stop before dispensing fuel if the app has not confirmed the member transaction. Check the selected station, pump number, payment method and fuel grade. If fuel has already been dispensed, retain the receipt and contact Walmart support through the app or the help page; the published instructions do not promise that an unsuccessful transaction can be retroactively converted.

The amount looks different in Alabama
Selected Alabama stations may show a 5¢ rather than 10¢ Walmart+ reduction under Walmart’s current guidance. Recalculate using the amount applicable to that location instead of assuming the nationwide figure.
The final charge is hard to interpret
Compare the receipt with the gallons dispensed, the posted per-gallon price and the discount shown in the transaction record. A total-dollar difference will vary with the number of gallons purchased, so do not expect every fill-up to save the same amount. Keep the record until the card transaction settles and the expected member pricing is visible.

Can I use the Mobil+ discount too?
No. Walmart says its Walmart+ discount cannot be combined with the Mobil+ Loyalty Program discount. Choose the applicable offer instead of adding both to your estimate.
Does Walmart show live Exxon prices?
The official instructions establish a station locator and an in-app redemption process, but they do not document live pre-trip Exxon or Mobil pump-price quotes. Use the app to verify participation and the station sign or pump to check the current retail price.
Bottom line for checking Walmart+ fuel prices at Exxon
Walmart+ can reduce the price at a participating Exxon or Mobil station, but the reliable process is location verification plus in-app redemption—not assuming every station qualifies or expecting a live price quote in advance. Confirm the address, compare the posted retail price, apply the station’s stated Walmart+ amount, and complete the QR-code flow before pumping.
