Cleartrip treats a flight date or time change as an amendment, but it does not normally let you change the booked route or sector. A passenger-name or title correction must first be cleared with the operating airline; if the airline refuses, the stated alternative is cancellation and a new booking. Cleartrip’s current FAQ lists an amendment fee of Rs 400 per passenger per sector for domestic flights and INR 1000 per passenger per sector for international flights, plus airline charges and any fare difference.
Train tickets follow a different process: Cleartrip says online amendments are unavailable. Eligible name replacements and boarding-station changes must be requested at a railway reservation counter, generally at least 24 hours before departure, with the required documents.

What can be changed on a Cleartrip booking?
The answer depends on the booking type, the field you want to change and the authority that controls the ticket. Cleartrip can process an amendment request, but the operating airline controls its fare and name rules, while railway officials decide whether an eligible train change is approved.

Start with the booking record
Use the original booking rather than trying to create a separate request without context. You need the Trip ID so Cleartrip can retrieve the correct itinerary and verify that you are authorized to request a change.
- Open Cleartrip Support or sign in to your Cleartrip account and go to the Trips page.
- Retrieve the booking with the Trip ID and the one-time-password (OTP) verification requested by Cleartrip.
- Note every passenger and sector on the itinerary. Amendment fees are calculated per passenger per sector, so a multi-passenger or multi-sector booking can produce more than one service-fee line.
- Read the airline’s applicable fare rule and the proposed new itinerary before approving a change. Check the airline charge, Cleartrip fee and fare difference separately.
- Keep access to the email address used for the original booking. Cleartrip says the amended ticket is sent to that address within 60 minutes after the change is made.
If you cannot retrieve the trip, Cleartrip’s support page lists +91 9595333333 and uses Trip ID verification. Have the ID, passenger names, original travel date and the exact requested change ready.
Changing a domestic flight date or time
A date or time change is an amendment, not a route change. The new flight must still fit the airline’s available inventory and fare conditions. A lower or higher fare can alter the final amount; the published Cleartrip fee is only one part of the calculation.

- Sign in to Cleartrip and open Trips, or use Cleartrip Support to retrieve the trip with the Trip ID and OTP.
- Open the domestic flight’s trip details and select the amendment option when it is available. If the option is not displayed, call Cleartrip’s 24×7 support instead.
- Choose the permitted new date, time or both. Do not assume that an apparently available flight is changeable under your fare; the airline’s rule controls.
- Review the itemized amount before confirming: Cleartrip’s amendment fee, the airline’s amendment or change charge, and any fare difference for the replacement flight.
- Approve the amendment only after checking each passenger, sector, origin, destination and departure time on the preview.
- Save the confirmation and watch the original-booking email address. Cleartrip says the amended ticket will be emailed within 60 minutes.
What happens if the price is different?
The Cleartrip service fee does not replace the airline’s own charge. If the new fare is higher, the difference is added. The exact total also depends on the airline, fare type, sector and timing of the request. The live quote in the trip record is the amount to rely on, not a generic estimate.
If you need to cancel after amending
A cancellation after an amendment must be handled by Cleartrip support. The request must be made at least three hours before the amended departure time. This is a separate support action; an amendment does not automatically preserve the cancellation conditions of the original itinerary.

Changing an international flight date or time
For an international booking, contact Cleartrip support rather than expecting to complete the change entirely in the trip interface. The same basic rule applies—date or time changes are amendments subject to the airline—but international fares can have different conditions by carrier, route and ticket type.
- Retrieve the booking from Cleartrip Support or the Trips page using the Trip ID and OTP.
- Contact support with the requested new date or time and identify every passenger who should be changed.
- Ask support to state the airline charge, Cleartrip’s international amendment fee and the fare difference before you authorize the transaction.
- Confirm that the proposed itinerary keeps the correct origin, destination, connection points and passenger details.
- After approval, retain the support reference and wait for the amended itinerary at the email address used for the original booking. Cleartrip’s stated delivery target is within 60 minutes.
Do not treat a support quotation as a permanent price. Seats and fares can change while a request is being processed, and the airline’s live rule determines whether the change is permitted.

Changing a passenger name or title on a flight
Name changes are not automatically available simply because the request is a spelling correction. Cleartrip says it can pass a spelling, title or other name request to the airline. “Most of them do” allow some requests, according to its flight FAQ, but an airline can refuse. If it refuses, the stated fallback is to cancel and re-book with the correct name.
How to submit the request
- Open the trip with the Trip ID and OTP through Cleartrip Support or the Trips page.
- Describe the exact discrepancy as it appears on the booking and the exact spelling or title shown on the passenger’s identification. Ask support to submit it to the operating airline.
- Wait for the airline’s decision and request the complete cost before accepting: any airline name-service charge, Cleartrip amendment fee if applicable, fare difference and any cancellation cost if rebooking is required.
- If approved, verify the updated passenger name on the amended itinerary and wait for the email confirmation.
- If refused, ask Cleartrip for the cancellation and rebooking options before taking action. Do not cancel first if you still need to compare the airline’s permitted remedy and the replacement fare.
A title correction, a minor spelling correction and replacing one traveler with another are not necessarily treated the same way by an airline. The airline’s response to the particular ticket is decisive; Cleartrip cannot promise approval in advance.
Changing the route, destination or sector
Cleartrip’s flight FAQ states: “You can change the date or time (or both) of your travel; you cannot, however, change the sector(s) on which you’re already booked.” In practical terms, moving a flight from one destination to another is not an ordinary amendment.

What counts as a route change?
- Changing the origin or destination.
- Replacing one booked sector with a different sector.
- Turning a one-way itinerary into a different city pair.
- Removing or adding a sector rather than merely changing its departure date or time.
For these requests, contact Cleartrip to review cancellation and rebooking choices. Compare the cancellation amount, the price of the new ticket and any timing restrictions before authorizing either transaction. A new booking is a separate fare purchase; the original ticket does not simply transfer to a different destination.

Cleartrip’s current 2026 flight FAQ lists the following Cleartrip service fees:

These figures are the Cleartrip component stated in the current FAQ, not a guaranteed all-in price. The final amount varies with the airline, fare conditions, sector and timing. A booking with two passengers and two sectors can therefore attract the service fee more than once for each affected passenger and sector. Ask for the live breakdown before confirming.
A practical cost checklist
- Cleartrip fee: Rs 400 for a domestic amendment or INR 1000 for an international amendment, calculated per passenger per sector.
- Airline charge: The operating carrier may add its own change or name-service fee, or may prohibit the request.
- Fare difference: The replacement flight can cost more or less than the original fare; any applicable difference is part of the quote.
- Cancellation and rebooking: A refused name request or route change can require a separate cancellation and a new ticket, with costs governed by the original fare rule and the new fare.
Changing a train passenger name or boarding station
Cleartrip’s train FAQ says, “You cannot amend your tickets online.” The process is therefore different from a flight amendment in the Trips interface.
Passenger-name replacement
A replacement may be possible only when an eligible blood relative will travel instead of the originally named passenger, and only with railway approval. Cleartrip states that the request must be made at the nearest railway reservation counter at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure. It is allowed only once per ticket.

- Print the Cleartrip train e-ticket.
- Go to the nearest railway reservation counter no later than 24 hours before departure.
- Carry the printed e-ticket, valid photo identification and proof of the blood relationship.
- Request the passenger replacement and wait for the railway authority’s decision.
- Keep the approved counter documentation with the ticket for travel.
Cleartrip does not make this a guaranteed name substitution. The railway authority decides whether the relationship and request meet the applicable conditions.
Changing the train boarding station
Boarding-station changes follow the same counter process: online amendments are unavailable, and the request must be handled at a railway reservation counter. Carry the printed e-ticket and identification, and make the request generally at least 24 hours before departure. Confirm any railway charge or operational limitation at the counter before accepting the change.

Flight requests should be made before departure and while the desired replacement inventory is available. The earlier you act, the more time you have to compare the airline rule, fee and fare difference. A flight amendment is not complete merely because a support agent has opened a case; wait for the amended itinerary.
- For domestic flights, use the trip amendment option when available or call Cleartrip’s 24×7 support.
- For international flights, contact Cleartrip support directly.
- After a flight amendment, allow up to 60 minutes for the amended ticket email, according to Cleartrip.
- If cancelling after an amendment, contact support at least three hours before the amended departure.
- For eligible train name or boarding-station requests, use a railway reservation counter generally at least 24 hours before scheduled departure.
Save the confirmation email, support reference and any counter receipt. If the amended email does not arrive within the stated 60-minute window, contact support with the Trip ID rather than making a duplicate booking immediately.
Common problems and the safest response
The amendment option is missing
Retrieve the booking again with the Trip ID and OTP. If the domestic trip still has no amendment option, call Cleartrip’s 24×7 support. International requests should be directed to support from the outset.

The airline refuses the name request
Ask support to explain the refusal and quote cancellation and rebooking alternatives. Do not assume that a ticket can be transferred to another person; the stated remedy is cancellation and a new booking when the airline does not allow the name request.
The requested destination is different
That is a sector change, which Cleartrip’s FAQ does not permit as an amendment. Request a cancellation-and-new-booking comparison instead of trying to force the new city pair into the existing ticket.
The amount is higher than the published fee
The Rs 400 or INR 1000 figure is only Cleartrip’s service component. Ask for the airline charge and fare difference as separate lines and verify the number of passengers and sectors included.
The train request is urgent
There is no online train amendment route in Cleartrip’s stated process. If fewer than 24 hours remain, contact the railway reservation authority immediately, but approval is not assured and the published eligibility conditions still apply.
