Apply for Andhra Pradesh widow pension through the nearest Grama/Ward Sachivalayam (Village/Ward Secretariat). Ask for the NTR Bharosa New Pension Application, submit the required information and documents, and insist on an acknowledgement or service-request reference. Use that reference in AP Seva’s Service Request Status Check, or ask the Secretariat to track it for you.

The scheme’s current name matters because older documents and websites may still use “YSR Pension Kanuka.” Government Order G.O.Ms.No.43 says the name was restored to “NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme.” Older references to ₹2,250 or ₹3,000 are not the current widow-pension rate.
Who can apply for the widow pension?
The NTR Bharosa eligibility page identifies several conditions that should be met before an application is filed.

Widow status and age
For the widow category, the official wording is: “As per the Marriage Act 18 years and above.” The wording appears on the Andhra Pradesh NTR Bharosa scheme page. Carry the husband’s death certificate so the Secretariat can verify the widow-pension category.
BPL family and white ration card
The proposed beneficiary should belong to a below-poverty-line (BPL) family holding a white ration card. Take the current ration-card details to the Secretariat. If the family’s ration-card information has changed, ask the official handling the application which record must be corrected before the pension request can be processed.
Local residence
The scheme page says the applicant should be a local resident of the district. Use the address and identity documents requested by the Secretariat to establish the residence recorded for the application.

No simultaneous coverage under another pension scheme
The published eligibility condition says the applicant must not already be covered under another pension scheme. Tell the Secretariat about any pension currently received or previously sanctioned so that the application is assessed against the correct records. Do not conceal an existing pension in an attempt to qualify.
These are the conditions stated on the current scheme material. The Secretariat may ask for additional information during verification, so confirm the live checklist when you submit rather than relying only on an old photocopy or an unofficial website.
Documents to prepare before visiting the Secretariat
Government material identifies the following practical documents for a widow-pension application. Carry the originals for inspection and a set of copies if available. The office may scan or upload the details rather than retain every original.
- Aadhaar: the applicant’s Aadhaar details for identity and record matching.
- Bank passbook: the account information used for pension payment. Check that the account holder’s name and account details are readable.
- Address or identity proof: the document the Secretariat accepts to establish identity and local residence.
- Age proof: documentation supporting the age recorded in the application.
- Recent photograph: a photograph for the beneficiary record.
- Husband’s death certificate: the key document supporting the widow category.
- White-ration-card details: information showing the BPL household record referred to in the eligibility conditions.
The practical list is not a promise that every office will request exactly the same copy format. Ask the Digital Assistant or other Secretariat staff to confirm whether any document is missing, expired, unreadable or inconsistent with the government record. Resolve a name or address mismatch before submission when possible; mismatches can lead to a verification query.
How to apply, step by step
1. Find the correct Grama/Ward Sachivalayam
Go to the Grama Sachivalayam serving your village or the Ward Sachivalayam serving your urban address. The district government scheme page identifies the Grama/Ward Sachivalayam as the application route. You do not need to use an unofficial agent to file the request.

If you are unsure which Secretariat covers your address, ask the local Panchayat or municipal office to identify the correct one. Take your address proof and ration-card details so staff can route you to the right jurisdiction.
2. Request the NTR Bharosa new-pension application
Tell the counter or help desk that you want to apply for the NTR Bharosa Widow Pension. AP Seva lists an “NTR Bharosa New Pension Application form” and a corresponding verification form. Ask for the current version used by that Secretariat, not an old form carrying the former scheme name.
Read the form before signing. Make sure the widow category, name, address, Aadhaar details, ration-card details and bank information are entered exactly as they appear on the supporting records.
3. Complete the form and attach the requested records
Provide the information requested on the application and show the documents listed above. The Secretariat may enter the information into its portal, scan documents or ask you to supply copies. Keep a personal note of every document handed over or uploaded.
Before the application is accepted, check the bank account number, branch or bank identifier, mobile number and spelling of names. A single incorrect digit can create a payment or verification problem later. Ask staff to correct an error immediately rather than waiting for the status to become pending.
4. Obtain an acknowledgement or service-request reference
The operational guidance says the Digital Assistant or Ward Education and Data Processing Secretary receives the application, uploads it in the Grama/Ward Sachivalayam portal and generates an acknowledgement. Do not leave without asking for that acknowledgement or the service-request number.
Photograph or safely store the reference, the submission date and the name of the Secretariat. You will need the reference for status enquiries, and it is the clearest proof that the request was entered into the workflow. If staff say the request was received but cannot provide any reference, ask when and how the reference will be issued and return for it.

The application is checked through the Secretariat workflow. Officials may verify the documents, household information, residence and widow status. Keep your phone available if the Secretariat asks for clarification, and keep the originals ready for inspection.

Verification is not the same as approval. A submitted form can still be returned for a correction or rejected if the eligibility conditions are not met. Ask the office to identify the specific missing or inconsistent item instead of submitting a second application for the same person.
6. Wait for the competent sanctioning authority
For a rural application, sanctioning is by the Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO). For an urban application, sanctioning is by the Municipal Commissioner. The Secretariat handles intake and workflow, while the competent rural or urban authority makes the sanction decision.
Because the public sources do not publish one universal approval deadline for every widow-pension application, do not rely on a promised number of days. Processing can depend on document checks, physical verification and the applicable sanctioning authority.

Once the pension is sanctioned, retain any pension ID, sanction communication or beneficiary details given by the Secretariat. These records are useful when asking about a missed payment, a bank-account issue or a change in circumstances.
Where is the Andhra Pradesh widow-pension application form?
The application route is the nearest Grama/Ward Sachivalayam. AP Seva identifies an NTR Bharosa New Pension Application form and a related verification form. In practice, ask the Secretariat for the current form and let the authorised staff upload it through the Secretariat portal.
Do not assume that a form downloaded from an old page is still valid. The scheme name and payment amount have changed over time, and older YSR Pension Kanuka material may show obsolete figures. Confirm the form version, document checklist and data fields with the office accepting the application.
There is no need to pay an unofficial intermediary to obtain the form. If someone offers to “guarantee” approval or asks for money in exchange for a reference number, keep the official receipt and report the issue to the Secretariat or the appropriate local authority.
How to check your widow-pension application status
Use the acknowledgement or service-request number first
AP Seva provides a public Service Request Status Check. Enter the acknowledgement or service-request reference supplied when the Secretariat accepted the application. This is the most reliable application-stage identifier because it ties the status enquiry to the specific request that was uploaded.

Keep the reference exactly as printed, including letters, numbers and any leading zero. If the status page rejects the entry, recheck the characters against the acknowledgement rather than creating a new application.
Ask the Grama/Ward Sachivalayam to check the request
If you cannot access the public status facility, return to the Secretariat that accepted the application and show the acknowledgement. Staff can check the request in the Secretariat system and explain whether it is awaiting document verification, physical verification, sanction or correction.
Ask for a clear explanation of the next action. For example, if the request is returned because a document is unreadable, ask whether you should replace the document at the same Secretariat or whether a new upload is required. Keep a note of the date and the instruction you receive.

The AP Seva landing page displays an Aadhaar-entry facility. The public page does not document that Aadhaar alone retrieves every application-stage status. Use the acknowledgement or service-request reference whenever possible, and treat Aadhaar entry as an additional facility rather than a guaranteed substitute for the application number.
After sanction, distinguish pension follow-up from a new-application status
The official NTR Bharosa site is the relevant source for scheme information and follow-up after a pension has been sanctioned. A separate Principal Accountant General Andhra Pradesh portal provides live status with OTP and grievance tracking for certain government-service pension records that have a Pension Unique Number (PUN). That PUN service is not a replacement for the NTR Bharosa new-pension application workflow.
Use the identifier connected to your case: the Sachivalayam acknowledgement for a new widow-pension request, or a PUN only when you are dealing with the separate government-service pension record covered by that portal.

This distinction explains why two applications submitted in different places may be handled by different authorities. It does not create two different widow-pension amounts: the current NTR Bharosa rate is ₹4,000 per month.

How and when the pension is paid
The NTR Bharosa portal describes monthly disbursement on the first day of the month through the Panchayat Secretary or Bill Collector. It also describes doorstep payment for bedridden and leprosy pensioners. The exact practical delivery for an individual beneficiary can depend on the local payment process and the beneficiary record.

The reviewed public sources do not establish one current statewide deadline from application to approval. Document checks, physical verification and the rural or urban sanctioning route can affect processing. If a request remains pending, use the acknowledgement to ask the Secretariat which stage is outstanding rather than filing a duplicate request.
What to do when the application is delayed or returned
The office says a document is missing
Ask the official to identify the exact document and whether an original, copy or scan is required. Provide the replacement through the same Secretariat when instructed, and request confirmation that it was attached to the existing service request. Keep a dated note of the submission.
The details do not match
Name, address, age, ration-card, Aadhaar or bank discrepancies can trigger verification questions. Ask which record must be corrected and whether the correction is made in the Secretariat portal or by another department. Do not alter a document or submit false information to force a match.

Return to the Secretariat with the submission date and the applicant’s details. Request the service-request reference generated after the Digital Assistant or Ward Education and Data Processing Secretary uploads the application. Without a reference, an online status search may not identify the request.
The status remains pending
Use the reference to ask whether the request is waiting for document scrutiny, physical verification or sanction. For a rural case, ask about the MPDO route; for an urban case, ask about the Municipal Commissioner route. The public material does not support promising approval within a fixed number of days, so seek the outstanding action instead of relying on an informal deadline.
The request is rejected
Ask the Secretariat for the recorded reason and whether the issue is an eligibility condition, a missing record or a correctable data error. If the reason concerns the white ration card, local residence, another pension or widow-status documentation, clarify what evidence the office requires before deciding whether a corrected application is appropriate.
The pension is sanctioned but payment does not arrive
Take the sanction or beneficiary details and bank passbook to the Secretariat. Ask staff to verify the payment record and bank information. If the beneficiary is eligible for the described doorstep process because she is bedridden or has leprosy, ask how that local delivery arrangement is recorded.

- Check that the household has the white ration-card record referred to in the eligibility conditions.
- Carry Aadhaar, bank passbook, address or identity proof, age proof, photograph and the husband’s death certificate.
- Take originals for inspection and copies if available.
- Verify the spelling of names, address, bank details and contact information before signing.
- Ask for the current NTR Bharosa New Pension Application and verification form.
- Obtain the acknowledgement or service-request reference before leaving.
- Store a photograph or written copy of the reference and submission date.
- Use AP Seva’s Service Request Status Check or ask the Secretariat to check the reference.
- Keep the sanction or beneficiary record after approval.
Protecting your application and personal information
Aadhaar, bank and death-certificate details are sensitive. Give them to the authorised Secretariat handling the application, check that the information is entered for the correct beneficiary and keep copies in a secure place. Do not post full Aadhaar or bank details in public messages while seeking help with a status query.
Use the official acknowledgement as your transaction record. An agent’s promise, a social-media screenshot or an old webpage is not proof that a pension application was accepted. The official workflow runs through the Grama/Ward Sachivalayam, its portal upload and the designated rural or urban sanctioning authority.
