Delta’s Porsche airport ride is part of VIP Select, a paid meet-and-assist service. You do not receive it automatically because of elite status or a premium ticket. You must book VIP Select for an eligible itinerary, and Delta must have a vehicle available. Even when Porsche service is offered, Delta’s terms say no particular vehicle make or type is guaranteed.
The published U.S. price starts at $500 for one customer per airport meet, plus $100 for each additional customer (up to four customers per greeter). The service can include airport escorting, help with connections, Sky Club access under the applicable rules, boarding coordination and, when Delta chooses and a vehicle is available, a ride toward the departure gate.

What Delta VIP Select includes
VIP Select is a private airport assistance service rather than a transportation product. A Delta representative meets you at an agreed time, helps coordinate airport procedures and connections, and assists with boarding or arrival. Each customer receives one Delta Sky Club visit per meet, subject to the lounge’s current entry rules.

At departure, the representative can guide you through airport processing and coordinate your boarding. On arrival, the representative can meet you at the gate, escort you through the airport and help with baggage or onward ground-transport coordination where that airport’s service supports it.

A vehicle may be used for part of the airport journey, but the terms are deliberately limited. Delta states that boarding coordination does not guarantee transportation from a Delta Sky Club to the gate; any vehicle transfer to the departure gate is at Delta’s sole discretion and depends on vehicle availability. The vehicle could be a Porsche, another vehicle or no vehicle at all.
Who can book the service
Core Delta itinerary requirement
The principal customer must purchase a Delta Main Cabin fare or higher on a flight that is both Delta-marketed and Delta-operated in a participating service area. Delta Connection-operated flights are included at participating airports.

Because service for another airline is discretionary, a connecting itinerary that appears on one reservation is not an automatic approval. Delta must be able to perform the meet within its terminal and within the available timing window.
Age and identification
Customers must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult. Every customer must present a valid government-issued identification document.
VIP Select is not an automatic status benefit
Elite status, a premium cabin ticket or a membership does not by itself create a complimentary Porsche transfer. VIP Select is separately purchased and scheduled for a specific airport meet.

Airports where VIP Select is listed
Delta’s English-language terms list these U.S. airports:
- Atlanta (ATL)
- New York–John F. Kennedy (JFK)
- New York–LaGuardia (LGA)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- Detroit (DTW)
- Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP)
- San Francisco (SFO)
- Seattle (SEA)
- Salt Lake City (SLC)
Delta separately documents VIP Select at Tokyo Haneda (HND). Airport participation, operating procedures and lounge access can change, so confirm that the service is available at the specific airport and date when you request it.
Special LAX lounge access
Delta’s airport information says VIP Select customers at LAX may access Delta One at LAX regardless of the cabin booked. That is an airport-specific benefit, not a general rule for every VIP Select location.
How the airport experience works
1. Departure meet
You provide a requested meet time when arranging VIP Select. A representative meets you, assists with airport processing and coordinates your boarding. The representative can help you navigate to the appropriate checkpoint, lounge or gate based on the airport’s procedures.
2. Sky Club visit
VIP Select includes one Sky Club visit per customer per meet, subject to the applicable Sky Club rules. The inclusion does not override capacity controls, identification requirements or other lounge policies in force on the day of travel.

3. Possible vehicle transfer
If Delta elects to provide a vehicle and one is available, the representative may arrange a ride from the Sky Club toward the departure gate. This is the point at which a Porsche may appear. Delta’s terms state that neither transportation itself nor a specific make or model is guaranteed.

That statement describes an availability channel for that customer group; it does not promise that every Delta One VIP Select booking will receive a Porsche. Vehicle assignment remains subject to Delta’s discretion and available vehicles.
4. Connections
Delta can meet customers transferring between airlines in a Delta terminal when the ticketing and timing requirements are met. Connecting flights generally must depart within four hours of the arriving flight. Because the service depends on where the transfer can be performed, a connection involving a different terminal or an impractical transfer time may not qualify.
5. Arrival assistance
On arrival, the representative can greet you, escort you through the airport and assist with baggage or onward ground-transport coordination where local service supports those tasks.
At Haneda, Delta’s published description specifically includes an arrival-gate greeting, immigration and customs escort, and baggage or porter support. Those details should not be assumed at every other airport, where the available arrival assistance may differ.

How much VIP Select costs

For example, a two-person meet at one airport is $600 under the published schedule. A four-person meet is $800. If the same travelers use VIP Select at both a departure airport and a connection airport, each airport meet is charged separately. These figures are the published U.S. amounts; confirm the current price and currency treatment for your booking because fees and airport policies can change.
How to request VIP Select
- Check the itinerary. Confirm that the principal customer has a Delta Main Cabin-or-higher fare on a Delta-marketed and Delta-operated flight, or that a Delta Connection segment is operating at a participating airport.
- Identify every airport meet. Decide whether you need departure, connection, arrival or multiple airport services. Each airport where the service is used creates a separate fee.
- Request the service. Reservations are encouraged at least 24 hours before the first meet. The published terms require the request at least six hours before the meet time, so a last-minute request inside that window may not be accepted.
- Provide passenger details. Give Delta the names, itinerary information, meet location and timing for each customer. Make sure every customer can present valid government-issued identification and that anyone under 18 is accompanied by an adult.
- Confirm the airport’s scope. Ask what the representative will handle at that location, including lounge access, terminal transfers, baggage help and any arrival support. Haneda’s published arrival inclusions, for example, are more specific than a general promise of assistance.
- Review the vehicle expectation. Treat a Porsche as a possible vehicle, not as a guaranteed deliverable. Ask where the representative will meet you and whether a vehicle is expected, while recognizing that Delta can change the vehicle decision based on availability.
- Keep the confirmation and cancellation deadline. Cancellations made with less than 12 hours’ notice are non-refundable under the published terms.
When an advertised Porsche ride may not happen
No vehicle is available
Delta may have no suitable vehicle at the required time. In that case, the representative can still provide the meet-and-assist functions, but the airport transfer itself may not occur.
Delta chooses not to dispatch a vehicle
The terms give Delta sole discretion over vehicle transportation to the departure gate. A confirmed VIP Select appointment therefore does not create a contractual promise of a car ride.
The vehicle is not a Porsche
Even when Delta provides transportation, its terms say no specific vehicle make or type is guaranteed. The car may be another type of vehicle.
The itinerary or terminal cannot be supported
Other-airline connections are discretionary and generally must be ticketed together and handled within a Delta terminal. A connection outside those conditions can prevent the service from being delivered, regardless of the traveler’s cabin or status.

The request is too late
Requests are encouraged 24 hours in advance and must be made at least six hours before the meet. Waiting until the day of travel can leave no available appointment, and a cancellation inside 12 hours is non-refundable.
Practical examples
Delta One departure from Atlanta
A Delta One customer departing Atlanta can request VIP Select, pay the applicable meet fee and receive a representative’s assistance through the airport. Delta’s News Hub identifies Porsche service as available to Delta One customers when booking VIP Select, but the customer still has no guarantee of a Porsche or even of a vehicle transfer to the gate.
Main Cabin traveler connecting in Detroit
A Main Cabin customer on an eligible Delta itinerary can request a connection meet at Detroit. If the onward flight generally departs within four hours of arrival and the transfer can be performed within the Delta terminal, the connection may qualify. The meet fee applies to that airport even if the traveler used VIP Select at the origin airport.

A traveler arriving on another airline and connecting to Delta should not assume eligibility. Delta may provide the service at its discretion when the flights are ticketed together on one ticket and the meet can be delivered inside a Delta terminal. Confirmation from Delta is necessary before relying on the service.
Arrival at Haneda
A customer using the published Haneda service can expect the described arrival-gate greeting, immigration and customs escort, and baggage or porter support, subject to the booking being accepted. Those published Haneda details do not turn every arrival airport into a full immigration-escort service.
Questions to ask before paying
- Is my exact flight Delta-marketed and Delta-operated, or is it a Delta Connection flight at a participating airport?
- Is the requested airport currently offering VIP Select on my date and at my terminal?
- Is my meet for departure, connection, arrival or more than one airport?
- What is the total fee for all customers and all airport meets?
- What services are included at this airport beyond the standard meet-and-assist description?
- Has the request been accepted within the six-hour minimum window?
- What is the cancellation deadline if my itinerary changes?
- Am I treating the Porsche as a possibility rather than a guaranteed vehicle?
Bottom line for travelers
Book VIP Select when you value a coordinated airport escort and are comfortable paying for that assistance, not when you need a guaranteed Porsche ride. Eligibility is built around a Delta Main Cabin-or-higher fare on an eligible Delta-marketed and operated itinerary, participation at the airport, age and identification requirements, and Delta’s ability to deliver the meet. The published U.S. starting price is $500 for one customer per airport meet, with $100 for each additional customer up to four. Vehicle transportation remains discretionary, and no vehicle make or type is promised.
