A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11EssayPro’s plagiarism checker is best used as a convenient first-pass similarity screen. According to EssayPro, you can paste text or upload a file, receive a similarity or originality percentage, and inspect highlighted passages with links to possible online sources. That report can help you find passages that need citations or closer review, but it cannot decide whether plagiarism occurred, and a clean result does not guarantee that your university’s system will find nothing.
What the EssayPro checker does
EssayPro describes its checker as a free online tool for students. Its published workflow is simple: submit text, start a scan, and review the resulting report. The service says you can paste text directly or upload TXT, DOC, DOCX, and PDF files. It lists a maximum of 3,000 words per scan and says a check may take seconds or several minutes depending on the amount of text being processed. The page also says registration is not required. These are current vendor statements, so confirm the live limits and access rules before relying on them for a deadline.

- Prepare the material. Copy the section you want to review, or choose a supported TXT, DOC, DOCX, or PDF file. Keep a saved copy of your original document before making changes.
- Submit up to the stated limit. EssayPro currently describes a 3,000-word limit per scan. For a longer paper, work through clearly labeled sections rather than treating separate scans as one complete report.
- Start the scan. Select the checker’s scan command and wait for the report. EssayPro says processing time varies from seconds to minutes with volume.
- Inspect the report. The company says the results include an overall similarity or originality percentage, highlighted passages, and links to potential online sources.
- Review the context yourself. Open each suggested source, determine why the wording was flagged, and decide whether a quotation, citation, or rewrite is needed.
The tool is therefore a screening step, not a submission gate. It can surface wording worth investigating, but the student still has to establish what was borrowed, how it was used, and whether the attribution meets the assignment and institutional rules.

How to read a similarity percentage
A percentage is a measurement of text overlap detected by the service, not a legal or academic finding. A high number may reflect properly quoted material, a bibliography, assignment wording, technical terminology, or common phrases. A low number can still miss material that exists in a private database, a book that is not indexed by the service, a translated source, or a passage whose wording has been changed substantially.
#1 Best Overall
EssayPro’s product page uses promotional language about accurate scores and access to thousands of sources. No independent benchmark, corpus description, false-positive rate, or head-to-head institutional comparison was established for those claims. Treat the displayed percentage as a prompt to investigate, not as a pass/fail threshold. There is no universal score at which a paper automatically becomes plagiarism.
What the highlighted passages are for
- Open the linked source. Check whether the match is actually your source and whether the surrounding context changes its meaning.
- Classify the passage. It may be a direct quotation, a close paraphrase, a standard phrase, a title, a methods description, or an accidental overlap.
- Check your attribution. Borrowed ideas require citations even when the sentence is paraphrased. Direct quotations also need quotation formatting and a complete reference in the style required for the assignment.
- Correct the underlying problem. Add or repair the citation, use quotation marks where appropriate, or rewrite the passage in your own structure and voice while still crediting the source.
Do not simply delete every highlighted sentence to lower a number. Removing a citation, changing a few synonyms, or obscuring a source can create a more serious academic-integrity problem.
Why an EssayPro result may differ from your university’s checker
EssayPro’s FAQ says its checker probably differs from the software used by universities. It specifically explains that institutions can have access to private scholarly databases that EssayPro does not access. The company’s own explanation means the two systems are not expected to return identical matches.

| Comparison point | EssayPro’s published description | Practical consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Source collections | Online sources are searched and possible source links are shown; EssayPro says it does not access the private scholarly databases available to universities. | A passage absent from EssayPro’s results may still match a journal article, student paper, or other restricted collection used by your institution. |
| Input and limit | Paste text or upload TXT, DOC, DOCX, or PDF files, with up to 3,000 words per scan. | A full paper may need multiple scans, while your institution may process the complete submission under its own rules. |
| Report features | EssayPro says the report provides an overall percentage, highlighted similarities, and links to potential online sources. | Use those features to investigate passages; do not assume that another system calculates or displays matches in the same way. |
| Authority for a submission | EssayPro presents the checker as an online service and says it is likely different from university software. | Your course or institution’s specified system and academic-integrity policy control the official review. |
A clean EssayPro screen is not proof that a university checker will find nothing. Conversely, a university or EssayPro match is not, by itself, proof of misconduct. In either setting, an instructor or committee must consider the source, the assignment, your citations, the extent of overlap, and the surrounding circumstances.
What text-matching research says about the limits
The paper “Testing of Support Tools for Plagiarism Detection” reports a collaborative test of 15 web-based text-matching systems. Its central conclusion is that software supports the identification of similarity but cannot determine plagiarism. Substantial overlap can have explanations other than intentional copying, so human interpretation remains necessary.
That distinction explains why no checker should be treated as an originality certificate. Matching software generally compares submitted wording with material in the collections it can search. It does not know whether you received permission, whether a quotation is correctly marked, whether a phrase is unavoidable in a discipline, or whether the assignment allowed collaboration. Those are contextual and policy questions.

A responsible workflow for checking your own paper
1. Read the assignment and policy first
Identify the required citation style, rules for collaboration, permitted use of writing tools, and any official checker named by your school. If the institution requires its own system, an EssayPro scan can be supplementary only.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2. Remove material you are not allowed to upload
Check whether your draft contains another person’s personal information, confidential research, unpublished data, client material, or a file covered by a course or employer restriction. Use a version you are permitted to share.
3. Scan a manageable section
Stay within the checker’s stated 3,000-word limit. Label each section so you can trace a flagged passage back to the correct paragraph in your master document.
Rank #4
4. Investigate every meaningful match
Compare the highlighted wording with the linked source. Record whether it is a quotation, paraphrase, common phrase, technical definition, assignment prompt, or a passage you did not realize was too close to the source.
5. Fix attribution and wording
For a direct quotation, use the required quotation format and reference details. For a paraphrase, rewrite from your understanding rather than swapping isolated words, and cite the borrowed idea. If the source’s exact wording is essential, quote it instead of disguising it.
6. Rescan the revised text
A second pass can show whether your changes removed an accidental overlap or introduced a formatting problem. It still does not predict the exact result of an institutional system.

7. Perform a manual final check
Read the paper with your references open. Confirm that every borrowed idea has an in-text citation, every quotation is clearly marked, and every citation has a matching reference entry in the required style.

EssayPro states that it does not store submitted text and does not collect sensitive data. Those are statements by the company, not findings from an independent security or retention audit. Review the current checker page and applicable privacy terms before uploading a consequential document, because policies and product features can change.
- Do not upload material you are prohibited from sharing.
- Remove unnecessary names, student numbers, client details, and confidential data from a copy used for screening.
- Keep the original file and your own dated revisions so you can show how citations and wording developed.
- Ask your instructor or institution which service is approved if the paper contains unpublished research or sensitive information.
Academic-integrity boundaries
The checker should help you review your own writing, not help you evade detection. EssayPro’s Code of Conduct identifies plagiarism, contract cheating, fabrication, falsification, impersonation, and related misconduct as prohibited uses. Submitting someone else’s work, buying a paper, inventing sources, or altering evidence remains misconduct regardless of what a similarity percentage displays.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The safest objective is accurate attribution. EssayPro’s guidance says to cite borrowed ideas even when they are paraphrased, and to format direct quotations and references correctly. A flagged passage should be evaluated in context; a passage that is not flagged still needs a citation if the idea came from another author.
When the checker is useful—and when it is not enough
| Situation | Best use of the checker | What you still need to do |
|---|---|---|
| You want a quick pre-submission review | Scan a draft and inspect highlighted passages and source links. | Correct citations and quotations manually. |
| Your paper is longer than 3,000 words | Review it in labeled sections. | Check the complete document against your institution’s requirements. |
| The report shows a high percentage | Separate legitimate quotations, references, and common wording from questionable overlap. | Ask an instructor or writing adviser about ambiguous cases. |
| The report shows little or no overlap | Use the result as limited reassurance about the indexed sources searched. | Do not treat it as proof of originality or institutional acceptance. |
| Your institution names a required system | Use EssayPro only as an optional early screen, if policy permits. | Follow the institution’s system and academic-integrity policy. |
Access, cost, and changing limits
EssayPro currently describes the checker as free and usable without registration, with a 3,000-word scan limit and support for TXT, DOC, DOCX, and PDF files. It says scans may take seconds to minutes. Because these are service features rather than independently verified performance results, check the live page immediately before use, especially if you are working close to a submission deadline.
Bottom line for students
Use EssayPro as a convenient first-pass tool for finding passages that deserve citation and context review. Do not use its percentage as a plagiarism verdict, an originality guarantee, or a substitute for your university’s checker. The defensible standard is your own documented writing process, complete and accurate attribution, correct quotation formatting, and compliance with the policy that governs your assignment.
