Chatr Mobile did offer a genuine limited-time promotion priced at $25 per month for 25GB, but the offer expired on February 2, 2026. It is not a plan customers can claim today. As of August 18, 2026, Chatr’s official plans page lists $25 for 5GB and $35 for 30GB, with the latter shown as 25GB of base data plus a 5GB Auto-pay bonus.
What the promotion advertised
Contemporary coverage described the deal as a Chatr flash sale for new activations. The advertised $25 price was linked to Auto-pay, and the promotion was scheduled to end February 2, 2026. The report appeared in iPhone in Canada’s January 30, 2026 coverage; a contemporaneous Canada Card Forum listing also recorded the 25GB allowance and expiry date.

| Feature | Reported promotion |
|---|---|
| Monthly price | $25, subject to the advertised Auto-pay treatment |
| Data | 25GB |
| Talk | Unlimited Canada-wide calling |
| Texting | Unlimited texting to Canadian, U.S. and international mobile numbers |
| Speed positioning | 4G-speed service, reported at up to 150Mbps |
| Network | Chatr service powered by the Rogers network |
| Contract and credit | Prepaid service with no term contract or credit check |
| Eligibility | Reported primarily as a new-activation offer |
| Expiry | February 2, 2026 |
The 25GB figure should be read as the promotional total reported at the time. No archived primary terms establish how that expired allowance was split between base data and an Auto-pay bonus, so it should not be reconstructed from today’s plan format.

The $25 headline was reported as an after-Auto-pay price, not necessarily an unconditional rate for manual payments. Chatr’s current plan terms say Auto-pay bonuses require successful enrollment and payment; a failed charge or removal of Auto-pay can prevent a bonus from applying. Check the specific plan terms before activating rather than assuming that every advertised data or price benefit survives without Auto-pay.

What the data and messaging covered
Data after the high-speed allowance
Chatr plan information says data can continue at reduced speeds after the included allowance is used until the next billing cycle. That is slower continuation, not another 25GB of full-speed data. Unused data does not roll over. Customers who need temporary full-speed capacity can review Data Plus options in My Chatr.
Texting is not international calling
The reported inclusion covered texting to Canadian, U.S. and international mobile numbers. It did not mean unlimited international voice calls. Calling other countries is handled through applicable plans, rates or add-ons, and calls made while outside Canada are roaming. See Chatr’s international calling information for the distinction.

- RELIABLE NATIONWIDE COVERAGE: Enjoy 8GB of high-speed 5G/4G LTE data on the T-Mobile 5G Network.
- TRAVEL ACROSS NORTH AMERICA: Unlimited talk and text in Mexico and Canada plus international roaming credit.

- NO CONTRACTS: Prepaid wireless with no annual contracts, no credit checks, and no hidden fees.
4G positioning, not a premium 5G promise
The promotion was described as a 4G-speed plan with a stated ceiling of about 150Mbps. Actual performance varies with the device, location, congestion and network conditions. Rogers-network access does not establish that the prepaid plan delivered the same features or prioritization as every Rogers postpaid 5G plan.

Who could get it?
The strongest evidence supports a new-activation promotion. Chatr’s current plan page explicitly labels displayed prices “for new activations only.” Existing customers should not assume they could obtain the expired rate by changing plans. Chatr says a plan change can require payment of the full new monthly fee and can affect the account’s anniversary date; its rules are outlined on the plans and features support page.

What Chatr offers now
As of August 18, 2026, the official Chatr plans page shows a different lineup:
| Current listing | Details |

| $25 per month | 5GB |
| $30 per month | 15GB |

These current prices are not an extension of the February promotion. Wireless offers change frequently, so the live Chatr page should control any purchase decision.

If you were activating during the sale
- Confirm that the offer is still listed and that you qualify as a new activation.
- Choose a compatible unlocked phone and obtain a SIM or eSIM. Chatr’s current page lists a physical SIM at $10 and a free eSIM, subject to compatibility; see SIM and eSIM details.
- Read the final price, base-data amount, Auto-pay requirement and speed policy before paying.
- Enroll in Auto-pay if it is required for the advertised price or bonus, then verify that the first payment succeeds.
- After activation, check My Chatr to confirm the plan, Auto-pay status, data allowance, expiry and any add-ons.
Those steps describe the safeguards a customer should have used during the offer period; they cannot restore the expired $25/25GB plan now.
Common misunderstandings
- Trying to buy it today: the February 2, 2026 deadline has passed and the current $25 listing is 5GB.
- Seeing less than 25GB: verify base data, any Auto-pay bonus, payment success and plan eligibility rather than assuming an account error.
- Expecting rollover: Chatr’s current terms say unused data does not carry forward.
- Traveling abroad: domestic talk and texting inclusions are not roaming coverage; charges can apply outside Canada.
- Expecting a 5G experience: the reported offer was positioned as 4G-speed service.
The Bottom Line
Chatr’s $25-for-25GB offer was real, unusually generous and temporary. It ended February 2, 2026, required attention to Auto-pay and new-activation eligibility, and should now be treated as a historical deal rather than a currently available plan.
